People aren't doing that. You guys have terrible pass accuracy so you take 4 years to throw the ball. NO ONE is running from sideline to sideline getting steals. 10-15 feet max, which is plenty of time with y'all 60 pass accuracy

it's probably too integral to the game. like too many animations based on the shot timing that will have to be removed from the code. its not that easy to just take it out
The problem from what I see(cause I don’t have 25’) isn’t the shooting, it’s the RNG. If that was taken out and it was based on timing and contest, it would be better. RNG should never be implemented into sports games. Madden got the same issues with random Inaccurates. Until 2k gets an anti cheat to combat zens, they will continue these dumb practices to try and get them out(which clearly hasn’t worked). Im not a fan of releasing my jumpshot in the same place but 2k moves my green window every time.
It’s not ruining the game for people who play 8 hours a day…but people who work all day and play 2 games a night can’t even enjoy the game so will play something else.

The issue with your stance is you’re talking about timing your shot. The green window isn’t timing based this year, it’s based on a visual cue. If you can’t understand that and continue to shoot off “I know my timing” don’t be surprised when the shooting feels inconsistent.

Last night I played a dude who had no badges dropped 18 shooting perfectly. Playing at night is people full of zens. On top of that they have no steal, yet they steal every driving layup/ dunk. Shit crazy bruh
He did have badges🤦🏾♂️ even 60 ovr have some badges. And you can strip anyone going for layups with 25 steal if you time it right. That needs to be patched

That steal on attempts to drive to the rim is crazy, you don't even have to press anything lmao. I haven't even touched my steal but I do have a 92 perimeter defense. I get them often when trailing the ball handler.

If I have on high risk I should be getting a high reward for timing it correctly, but it seems like low risk low reward is looking like low risk high reward.
They should’ve made the green windows smaller and kept green machine in as a badge that’ll significantly widen your window for consecutive greens, that way those who sacrifice for the gold-legend green machine could hit 4-7 shots in a row after finding their timing at the end of the day it is a video game all this realism is killing it, especially considering we’re already using real money to try to even compete with other good players

You're asking why doesn't 2K tell us the exact benefit or effect we get from different badge levels and other game mechanics? Key message here lowering 3pt % emphasizes better basketball. There is no reason to take a 2 when it’s easy to average 70% from three. 2K24 everyone averaged +60%. It was common to see people go 12/12 from three. It made the game boring.

Shooting doesn’t need to be changed I just say the delay on shooting is terrible. Half the time when I shoot I have to hold the button longer bc my shot is loading instead of going straight to shooting motion. Even on catch and shoot situations(which it’s the worst on)
I agree with the latency part💯 me and my friends had a friendly 3v3 tournament in the my court and the connection was amazing we was playing the best we ever had on 2k 25 which made us really realize how bad the servers are.

Ronnie is acting like this is a reality based game. It’s no way you got 5’9 guards running around dunking either. If your open and due to poor defense and time you shot right you should be able to hit the shot. I can understand fades, contested, and shots that are forced but wide open misses to a player with a high 3pt that is timing it is crazy
LISTEN UP EVERYONE! When it comes to rhythm shooting, you all keep thinking you have to come to a complete stop?!? You dont! Shoot like normal while using the stick but just add a extra motion of flicking the stick up with the motion of the shot! So if you wanted to do a fadeaway to the left while going towards the base line, you would flick the stick down to the left and then with the motion of the shot, flick it up to the right quickly. Its hard to put into words but just pull back on the stick whenever you would normally press "shoot button" and follow the motion of the shot that follows. This is how I do all my fades and I am shooting about 71% in the rec on a 83 3pt. (at park)

With the shooting being this inconsistent and the lane steals being this OP 2-3 zone is so difficult to break this year. Also, the match making is forcing me to have to lock in to every rec game like it’s game 7 of the finals. 2K really needs to stop changing the game so drastically every single year.
I have never been able to shoot well in online modes , until this year. If you just put in some effort and do all the little maintenance things to keep your player playing at their peak potential ( hot spots , gatorade drills , boosts, practice your shot) you will hit shots if you are taking good ones
yeah badge plug you’re right. 2k needs to fix the servers primarily so that the latency is not noticeable if you have good internet. that will solve so many issues for everybody, including shooting problems for a majority of players who always complain

I confidently say that in online modes the cue does not stay the same. I use push and always release when the ball reaches my head and sometimes it green and sometimes it’s not.

What's sad is that the Zens (cheaters) were always the ones, that didn't know how to shoot, can't shoot, don't know how to play and aren't good at the game. So they gotta jail break the game, in order to be good. This is what cause 2k Devs to keep touching shooting and gameplay, because of Zens.
I remember a time when game developers released a game, and you played it as it was. You couldn't complain and expect to have things changed to your liking. You either learned to play the game well or stopped playing because you weren't good at it. Developers should not give in to unreasonable demands. This generation seems to complain about everything.
I feel like this continues to decrease the quality of gameplay at the release of the game because the gaming company can just edit how the game is played. New game releases are damn near a trial run, and then they go from there to try and fix issues.

I would consider myself a casual player, playing a few hours a day most of the time. I have a guard build that was built with a 78 3pt and 68 mid. I have been shooting what I consider a good average percentage for a shooter in 42% from 3s. I personally love how the shooting is in 2K25. People complain about the shooting because they don't hit every open shot, which The best of the best in the NBA do not hit every single open shot. The entire game so far is so much more fluid, and realistic than past 2ks have been. I really hope 2k does not cater to the community and add a bunch of patches to make shooting easy again like they did in 2K25. Please 🙏 let the complainers keep complaining and give us time, and people will realize this is actually good for 2k. Thw only thing that needs fixed is the lane steals for sure. I like shooting exactly where it’s at right now. Last year, the Comp scene was overinflated because everybody could shoot.. everybody had 80w% and everybody was shooting 60%+. Now, there is actually a skill gap, the skill gap that we’ve been wanting for a long time and y’all want to make the game casual friendly again.
I think that rng of missing some shots has always been there but… we used to have a little badge called green machine that literally would negate the rng issue and now it’s gone so now we get that weird green window mishap that is all over the place 🤷🏼♂️
Thank you for bringing up the phantom ball strips when driving. Honestly the worst part of the game next to interior defense. Side note...if opponents quit out of a game early you lose boosts but not Gatorade. Strange

Started at 78 three ball on my swing. Shot 40% and made an 83 three ball on my lock and shot 15/18 from the three my first rec game with 51 points. I have a lot of mixed emotions about this!
This is the first 2K that i have played like i was really playing basketball while feeling affective. I dont feel like i have to spam screens with little guards and shoot 50 3s a game to keep up. The dribbling is more realistic. I wish there was more of a stamina penalty for excessive handling a sprinting that doesnt go away because possession changed too
Forcing players to miss shots should never be a thing. It takes away from the users experience of feeling as though they are actually mastering something. I will not pay $70+ again to be forced to shoot 50 percent from the field. I rather defensive contest be buffed to make me miss than to penalize me for knowing my jumpshot, working to get open, and having a 99 3 ball with legend badges cause they want to force me to shoot as well as someone with a 70 3 ball. I built a player to shoot 3s shrink the green window of the people with the 70 3 ball.

The visual que will remain the same per shot but the timing is different, but it will still match up with whatever que you have. If that makes sense

The problem from what I see(cause I don’t have 25’) isn’t the shooting, it’s the RNG. If that was taken out and it was based on timing and contest, it would be better. RNG should never be implemented into sports games. Madden got the same issues with random Inaccurates.
Until 2k gets an anti cheat to combat zens, they will continue these dumb practices to try and get them out(which clearly hasn’t worked).
Im not a fan of releasing my jumpshot in the same place but 2k moves my green window every time.
It’s not ruining the game for people who play 8 hours a day…but people who work all day and play 2 games a night can’t even enjoy the game so will play something else.

The issue with your stance is you’re talking about timing your shot. The green window isn’t timing based this year, it’s based on a visual cue. If you can’t understand that and continue to shoot off “I know my timing” don’t be surprised when the shooting feels inconsistent.

Last night I played a dude who had no badges dropped 18 shooting perfectly. Playing at night is people full of zens. On top of that they have no steal, yet they steal every driving layup/ dunk. Shit crazy bruh
He did have badges🤦🏾♂️ even 60 ovr have some badges. And you can strip anyone going for layups with 25 steal if you time it right. That needs to be patched

This is why they shouldn’t buff shooting. The players need to adjust and stop spamming 3s. They need to patch steals and loose ball awareness(the offensive player almost always get loose balls back), it’s ridiculous.
Key message here lowering 3pt % emphasizes better basketball. There is no reason to take a 2 when it’s easy to average 70% from three. 2K24 everyone averaged +60%. It was common to see people go 12/12 from three. It made the game boring.

After making 3 straight 3s 2K forces you to change your style of play basically. Here’s the thing let’s say I’ve been left wide open at the 3 point line on my fourth shot attempt. So 2k says you’re gonna miss and you have no control over it. That’s a wild situation especially if it was in a game point scenario. You miss that game winning shot just cuz 2k wants you to “change your style of play” like what!!?? If I lose the game on top of that, oh yeah this game is getting uninstalled

Shooting doesn’t need to be changed I just say the delay on shooting is terrible. Half the time when I shoot I have to hold the button longer bc my shot is loading instead of going straight to shooting motion. Even on catch and shoot situations(which it’s the worst on)

Ronnie is acting like this is a reality based game. It’s no way you got 5’9 guards running around dunking either. If your open and due to poor defense and time you shot right you should be able to hit the shot. LISTEN UP EVERYONE! When it comes to rhythm shooting, you all keep thinking you have to come to a complete stop?!? You dont! Shoot like normal while using the stick but just add a extra motion of flicking the stick up with the motion of the shot! So if you wanted to do a fadeaway to the left while going towards the base line, you would flick the stick down to the left and then with the motion of the shot, flick it up to the right quickly. Its hard to put into words but just pull back on the stick whenever you would normally press "shoot button" and follow the motion of the shot that follows. This is how I do all my fades and I am shooting about 71% in the rec on a 83 3pt. (at park)

I have never been able to shoot well in online modes , until this year. If you just put in some effort and do all the little maintenance things to keep your player playing at their peak potential ( hot spots , gatorade drills , boosts, practice your shot) you will hit shots if you are taking good ones

I confidently say that in online modes the cue does not stay the same. I use push and always release when the ball reaches my head and sometimes it green and sometimes it’s not.

I remember a time when game developers released a game, and you played it as it was. You couldn't complain and expect to have things changed to your liking. I would consider myself a casual player, playing a few hours a day most of the time. I have a guard build that was built with a 78 3pt and 68 mid. I have been shooting what I consider a good average percentage for a shooter in 42% from 3s. I personally love how the shooting is in 2K25. People complain about the shooting because they don't hit every open shot, which The best of the best in the NBA do not hit every single open shot. The entire game so far is so much more fluid, and realistic than past 2ks have been. I really hope 2k does not cater to the community and add a bunch of patches to make shooting easy again like they did in 2K25. Please 🙏 let the complainers keep complaining and give us time, and people will realize this is actually good for 2k. Thw only thing that needs fixed is the lane steals for sure. I like shooting exactly where it’s at right now. Last year, the Comp scene was overinflated because everybody could shoot.. everybody had 80w% and everybody was shooting 60%+. Now, there is actually a skill gap, the skill gap that we’ve been wanting for a long time and y’all want to make the game casual friendly again.
I think that rng of missing some shots has always been there but… we used to have a little badge called green machine that literally would negate the rng issue and now it’s gone so now we get that weird green window mishap that is all over the place 🤷🏼♂️

Started at 78 three ball on my swing. Shot 40% and made an 83 three ball on my lock and shot 15/18 from the three my first rec game with 51 points. I have a lot of mixed emotions about this!
This is the first 2K that i have played like i was really playing basketball while feeling affective. I dont feel like i have to spam screens with little guards and shoot 50 3s a game to keep up. The dribbling is more realistic. I wish there was more of a stamina penalty for excessive handling a sprinting that doesnt go away because possession changed too
Forcing players to miss shots should never be a thing. It takes away from the users experience of feeling as though they are actually mastering something. I will not pay $70+ again to be forced to shoot 50 percent from the field. I rather defensive contest be buffed to make me miss than to penalize me for knowing my jumpshot, working to get open, and having a 99 3 ball with legend badges cause they want to force me to shoot as well as someone with a 70 3 ball. I built a player to shoot 3s shrink the green window of the people with the 70 3 ball.
