Literally just put my build to a 85 perimeter after using a 91 there was no clear difference still sliding same cutoff animations literally is useless this year
I got 92 and it's a waste
the point is the badges
I feel you. i looked at everything that came with it being high and decided silver badges w/85 will suffice and my speed/ agility will make up for everything else. Defense is chess not checkers.
@@jc890 came to the conclusion that block and interior defense for post lockdown are the only thing that matter this year perimeter is for contest and cutoffs which seem irrelevant at times. Took it down and put it to strength
@@winznolosses Yeaa since I realized that’s all it does I put it to strength and get even more cutoffs w silver on ball menace
WE SKATING: WHILE THE OFFENSE ESCAPING 🤣👍GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS 2K
Tutes Can you test how important height is for rebounding, 6’9 vs 7 footers
It’s not that important dog I was 6’7 and dominated 2 7footers at the same time, just got to know how to play center and knowing angles. If this your first time at center DONT DO IT , go 7’0 first see how the paint works
Tutes, can you make a video on shot timing stability? See if maybe it helps with the whole green window changing
What level difficulty are the game modes on? Park, proam, proving grounds, and rec.
Hey bro great video. 2k need you on their payroll. Have you done one on deadeye yet? Wondering how good it really is.
Nice study. So perimeter defense affects the offensive player’s shot feedback. The higher the perimeter D, the higher the pressure. But actual block means useless without perimeter D, so it’s just an animation. What a waste of attributes.
Defense let me down so bad this year, 17 defense was so perfect, automatic schot contest and everything. I still prefer nba Live defense
In other words utilize agility and strength more than the attributes, that’s mainly for badges
theres more than shot contests to perimeter defense rating. Its easier to cut drives off, bump steals and if you sit on their shooting pocket they cant make 3s unless they run around screens
Can you test how different heights with the same perimeter defense gets contests? And on offense how contested you are at different heights.
nice video. Can you test vertical w rebounder with taller & shorter builds?
That strong handles badge kills perimeter defense gives ball handler blow bys
I just think it’s funny that nothing is mentioned about actually stick skill. Knowing when to use L2 and R2 and knowing when to just use the stick. That’s the real problem lol folks tryna play off attributes and badges, not skill.
Once again great topic ✅ , I would love to know about vertical I’ve seen low vertical do almost as good a high vertical .
Ngl 92 feel like 87. I have gold immovable for both. Im not too impressed with 92. I just got good on-ball and its marginally better
Whats the best perimeter def for a point guard??
I got 74 perimeter defense shid clamps
74???? That’s good cause if so I’m going that season 2 on my new build
How does height vs perimeter D affect jumpsuit contest? Since taller builds are limited perimeter D.
When you were doing these, were the badges maxed on the Challenger badge to either Hall of Fame, Gold, Silver, etc...?
Idk if you did a block video yet. But is block even worth putting high up if it’s an all or nothing attribute?
Tutes can you do a video on paint patroller like this one? great content
2:36 this makes perimeter defense very important
2k killing defense man smh
Bro 99 block and 99 perimeter that shit should be a block 100 out of 100 times
Can we do on ball menace because I feel like when people slash to the paint.. I never get cut off and a lot of the time they tend to just blow past me regardless if I'm body to body and I have 85 perimeter and 60 strength as a PG.
does wingspan have any effect on how effective perim d is (bumps and pickups)? Irl that’s an obvious yes but by 2k logic, when you raise your wingspan, your strength threshold drops. since strength and perim d go hand in hand, i’m wondering if a higher wingspan actually makes perim d worse.
Prim D or Steal .. which one do yous value more??
I got build 6'7 with 25 perimeter 91 strength and they shoot over me everytime but on my 6'4 lockdown with 96 perimeter HOF challenger makes em drop to the ground
Was it worth it for hof challenger? The build I want to make only gets to 94 perm d which gives me legend immovable though
@@taewoods2034 I'm sure gold challenger is same as HOF but im gonna max +1 it to legend so it'll make a big difference
I’m 6’6 with a 60 perimeter and no strength and I still make them fall to the ground
that’s only cause 2k don’t call fouls anymore
You should do passing effectiveness. Doesn't seem to be hugely important
When I first made my build he felt faster and was dunking real good without any dunk package equip once I bought the contact dunks and contact alley oop and installed them in my dunk package my player would no longer dunk he would only do layups
They force you to be a meter dunker
@@WijoSaySohow do you actually do the meter dunk?
@@idontrte just started doing it when wide open the last few days and I’ve got the timing down now but for contact dunks it’s still very wishy washy
Perimeter defense is for not getting your ankles broken and to get around screens
The thing is though I have an 85 perimeter, 85 strength, and 80 agility. Im getting blown by and my contests are either light or open. Makes no sense when Im playing good defense and the offense gets bailed out.
Same crap happening to me. Like I'm a cone smh. Then 2k players wanna chat nonsense
@@kenk3729 fr bro Im not saying Im a lockdown defender but Im not as trash as it seems I am this year lol. How I damn near foul you on the contest and it says open???
It’s you. Skill issue. What’s your speed. I have 25 on ball. 75 strength . 73 agility. 50 speed. I can’t contest but I can do my job untill it’s time to contest. I stay in front of my man.
What are the best values for perimeter d? Is unamovible enforce worthy this year ??
Don’t put no perimeter or interior defense up so I can get them blow by animations
Got 74 perimeter d on my PF with 83 strength for the cutoff animation. You can definitely feel the lack of shot contest before upgrading perimeter d up to 74.
I assume interior defense acts similarly?
All I know is if you mess around and have low perimeter you’re pretty much cooked….and naturally someone people will think 💭 they’re so smart and try it anyway……get blown by in a ridiculous rate and then blame 2k🤦🏾♂️😂😂
This isn’t true if you have strength and ability on match it. I’m on 25 now. 73 agility . 50 speed. 75 strength. My max on ball is 50. Ima be solid when i get there . On ball defense is about staying in front of ya man which i do. I won’t have to contest if im pumping and nd being physical
this game is so broken. everything needs to be totally reworked. the thing is tho- if they do a major patch changes things 2k needs a class action lawsuit for all the money people spend making builds and then they change the gameplay year after year in the middle of the game's lifespan
Does vertical affect rebounding? It logically should but makes me curious. Really debating in my new build
Please can u mesure the arm length ? For rebond, block , contest, close shot and layup? Must be really interesting
How about Challenger? Does that play a role too?
Thanks for the suggestion!
not useless at all, silver off ball pest is night and day to bronze, and to get immovable enforcer is a bigger bonus. even if you don't have high interior just make sure your block is up with your vertical then you're sweet
Obviously all they cared about is Offense this year.
Heres a breakdown of why defense in this game absolutely blows.
Can you test vertical? I have a 6’7 with 85 vertical I want to see if there’s a drastic difference from 86-90-95-99
Do challenger
We still need layup timing profiles and real player % bro
I don't feel the difference its usually immovable enforcer that help perimeter seems like its its only good for the badges you can get
I making a new build, going with 7'0 big that can only get 62 PD and i was hoping my 84 block would help contest outside but this is making me rethink the build.
Pretty sure your long ass arms and height matter too. Unfortunately that wasn't covered in this video.
@@Thelonous ah yes, that would have been a great year, PD with trex arms vs wemby arms.
No, without perimeter defense this year, your shot contest is basically invisible. I can't say if 60 is good enough...or if it's really about the challenger badge, which you get at 71
Perimeter Defense isn't for physical attribute. It's to unlock perimeter defensive badges. Agility should've been the lateral attribute. Not sure how much it matters. Seems Speed is the best for defensive sliding
No agility is. I have 50 speed. 73 agility. And 25 on ball defense and 75 strength.
I really be locking up everybody, with a 50 perimeter. it about strength/stls and blocks
Yup people don’t get it and think we lying. This is real life. U need the skill to go with it tho
6'10 + motion styles please
it's coming!
Pascal siakam is still the best
@@joshjohnson9040why? Please explain so I can know more
Can you do timing stability or is it the same as last year
Without a minimum level of perimeter defense (not sure where exactly), even if you heavily contest the shot, it has minimal effect. I have 2 bigs, one with none and one with 71 for the challenger badge...I don't know if it's the badge or the attribute, but I make shooters brick all the time...while the big with nothing is literally invisible to shooters
Been hunting for a minimum stat that will contest a corner camper that I inevitably have to stand next to. I haven’t played a game yet but everybody is saying that once my opponent knows I have no perimeter d, they can openly shoot even if I’m in their face. Not even a slightly contested if my defense is perfect?
@@Davemond-t No...your shot contest is now based almost entirely on your perimeter defense rating. Height no longer makes up for having a low rating. In fact, any time I get a 7ft or larger center on me, I am looking to pull up because I know their rating is probably low. The only thing they can do is jump at you, which due to their high block rating will get a swat sometimes.
Also, it came out that hands up contest in general seems to be bugged...because not putting hands up will a lot of the time give you a tighter contest somehow. This will probably be patched though.
As far as rating...I gave my 6'10 PF 73 perimeter defense, so I can get bronze challenger and pick dodger...I definitely make people miss a lot of shots using hands up contest. But baiting corner shooters into taking partially contested shots, or closing out on a guard after switching, it has been nerfed from older 2K's. People are making a decent amount of greens on my closeouts. So 70's is good, but not great

@@kuruptzZz damn alright. Thank you for the insight. Might have to be a liability unless that strategy of running into the shooter and leaving your hands down keeps working.
I really hope they BUFF shooting.
🧢🧢🧢 i have a 90 perimeter defense at 6'3 and have silver challenger and it almost always says Open. The shot contest system is and will always be horrible.
