I played against you and your team last night in Proving Ground 5v5 I was the Luka build you was guarding me GGs y’all line up was crazy good and your build is insane to play against
Aye fire, GG bro. Knew I’d have to guard you cause of the post control on your build. Man you were killing it with the hop jumpers and stuff, great game man
As far as the blocks go...if you're touching the offensive player with bumps and such and hold Y/∆ you'll have a lot better chance of getting block animations
Been playing some 2s and 3s and I feel like screens are really overpowered this year, even silver screens are getting hella body animations on gold pick dodger. Feel like pick dodger needs a buff with the way all these small guards are going to be playing. Felt like pick dodger has kinda sucked for years now.
We’ve been saying this for years. No lie I used my +1 to put pick dodger on legend. I still got sucked into screens but quite honestly I never got stuck on them. That seemed to be the only way it worked even halfway decent (on legend)
pretty sure defensive assist strength is Boxout Assist Strength this year. i turned that setting down and feel like im moving and positioning myself better on ball, off ball, and possibly boxout but havent tested. my only build is a 6'3" PG so i dont do much of that :P
Holding LT/L2 on a vertical contest is good too. You square up to the defender which can change their animation, then you hold Triangle/Y plus Turbo for a better contest
Same as the Lavine snatchback, a lot of these "point guards" only have 1 or 2 predetermined dribble combos they're gonna use every time. Most don't understand the concept of using your dribble moves efficiently to navigate as a ball handler.
Best thing i found out today as a slow ass post scorer when i hold left trigger on d i just hold analog up and soon as they take a shot i auto contest i did not know that. I use to time it when they shoot makes my defs so much better
I have a pure lockdown 6’8 switchable lockdown defender. 93 int, 93 per d, high rebound high block. Was thinking of putting my +5 on agility to get 85 or a little speed to help with chase downs
@lakerfan whats your opinion on motion styles? Does using a pascal or rodman style actually give better animations for lanes and rebounds? Or is it just about using the absolute fastest one? Ive been using caruso but my friend swears i need to use a bigman or eubanks type motion style for better rebounding
Aye lakerfan in your opinion as an undersized inside big that mostly plays rec, would u rather have higher steal or higher perimeter defense? Like would u rather have 71 perimeter for bronze immovable and challenger and 60 steal for bronze interceptor, or 62 perimeter for bronze immovable but no challenger and 73 steal for bronze glove and silver interceptor?
good quality content LF! if you do a second version at some point, do include some off ball switching (the post switch to your pre switch) and maybe even x´ing out or help-the-helper
At 12:56 when you got the steal in the passing lane. Your character jumped to get the pass… did you click Y to jump and get the ball, or did you just click X and get a jumping animation, or were you using your stick, if so what did you do? Hold up? Lmk, im new to all this 2k shit.
I'd totally pay money to some of the better locks out there if they could help me become a menace. I'm a great spot up shooter but my defense is inconsistent.
play 1vs 1, miss on purpose, let the other guy attack you. no need to pay bro. Started last year and got beaten the shit out of me for the first 2 months .This has really helped me adapting to all those moves
Lake, on your meta center build, why don't you take speed with the ball down to a 32 so you can max out vertical and get gold pogo stick, as well as driving layup/dunk gets increased to 62 because of the upgrade of vertical? I would like to know the reasoning before I go with it
On those first two steals which I must say was GREAT DEFENSE by the way.. Did you flick your right stick a certain way or did you use the square button? Im wanting to understand better on which hand to use instead of just flick it just because it reaches out for steals
What people don’t realize is that defense assist strength and box out assist strength are intertwined together in 2k25 as just box out assist strength I have did many test what ever u played last year as you defense assist strength make your box out assist strength that it changed the game for me completely
@@arnoldlopez5226 yes of course gang your box assist strength is default at 50 and the game assist u 50% because it’s set at that and that will cause u to slide and a get caught in unwanted animations and make you feel like you don’t have full control of your player trying turning it down to 15 and go play against the bots in the street ball mode u will notice u have way more control and be way more responsive truss u can even go down from 15 to 10 or 5 I just wouldn’t go to 0 it will be a little much unless u can handle it but I turned mine down to 15 and it changed the game for me I started dropping 40 in the rec multiple times because I have full control give it a try
Do you have a video for this build… I would like to see your attributes for this particular build. I think high agility and speed enables you to move around like that.. But those attributes are very costly, so you’re gonna have to sacrifice something
What's the way to stop BS ankle breakers and stumbles? It happens at the most random times, and the ball handler isn't even doing anything. 85 perimeter defense.
Depends on what you value, speed is golden in transition but high agility is noticeable on defense, handling the ball, getting open, so on and Soo forth. High agility makes others look like they are in quick sand when on defense just because how fast you can cut someone off Speed is legit up and down court speed Agility is how quick you can get to your top speed. In addition to lateral movement high agility makes people defensive monsters
This is my first year creating a lock (3&D) and I've only played MyCareer so far. I'm NOT getting the passing lane steals that everyone claims are OP. I'm not getting on-ball steals either...annnnnd I'm basically having my man blow by me every time he gets the ball. Off-ball screens are ruining me too.
Hey laker, I’m thinking about making your 6,8 slasher build but I don’t play 5v5, do I still need the 85 pass accuracy or will I be fine with like a 78?
hey whats ur take on height? I did a 6ft8 pg with 85 bh 75 speed w ball and 87 speed, feels slow sometimes, but i do get into lanes. Wonder if 6ft4 is actually fun this year.
I have a 7’0 inside with a 70 speed 49 agility and a 7’0 3 level with 60 agility. For some reason with 60 I get up the court more fluid while draining less stamina. Also my lateral quickness is smoother compared to 49. Rec is my main game mode might be different in other modes🤷🏿♂️
You are giving an idea to make a high vertical 6’7 stretch rim protector bro I had that kind of build in 22 man once I get the cap breakers I think I know what I should make
I have a 55 steal on my 6’8 and I’m ripping shit😭the bumps and strips are op rn for a 55 steal to do it consistently too, as for in lane steals tho they jus hit me so there’s that
I’ve been trying to just not put hands up and simply hold l2 and be as close as I can when contesting shots and I swear I get better contests, could you test this out?
Defense already op anyway. I can’t tell you how many times my dunk meter got taken away with no foul call just to benefit the defense. Everything is defense and shooting all over again.
Can you make a discord please, you have one of the most positive helpful communities in the game and I know I can find good pro am and rec runs through it.
When I press the X button on Xbox to steal in the lane, it doesn’t intercept, it swipes low and I’m in slow motion and lose position, What do I press??
2 foot dunks are great in rec as long as you don't put the slow ones on, a lot of the "standing dunks" that players get when catching the ball close down low are actually 2 foot driving packages. Just don't put on bad 2 foot packages
@@tcb8248 you just gotta look at them and don't put on the slow ones that have an extra dribble at the start of the animations or that don't move super slow trying to jump

Finally why can’t we all be like this
The glaze
I can confirm that holding Y/Triangle gives a different animation for blocks or contests.
The same goes for X/Square for on ball steals.

Correct
I can tell too, and also you get hard fouls like that
I promise it do, cus every year mfs be wondering how im getting chase down blocks so consistently
I swear I searched defensive tips the other day, nobody has uploaded anything like this yet. Much appreciated
I realized this year even if you are good yourself you really need a team this year since you get matched up with others of same status
Only in modes that search for other players but that doesn’t effect park
As far as the blocks go...if you're touching the offensive player with bumps and such and hold Y/∆ you'll have a lot better chance of getting block animations

Speaking on bumps causing blocks, I noticed paint patroller can lead to your nearest get a block while you bump them. Badge defpops up
Best thing i found out today as a slow ass post scorer when i hold left trigger on d i just hold analog up and soon as they take a shot i auto contest i did not know that. I use to time it when they shoot makes my defs so much better
