You hoein the bigs on motion styles is crazy
@@nba2ktutes why driving to the paint harder for a big guard than a smaller guard🤔I don’t get it
Limitless range test bro!
Interceptor and On-Ball Steals
Might be difficult, but can you test the green window difference between Rhythm Shooting and Button Shooting?
if someone takes a tightly contested jumper a lot of times they stumble or fall. They need to make the same thing happen for people taking bad layups and that'll solve the issue of people capping and getting the rebound back immediately and in better positioning to score
this concept is🔥!
@@jacolbydixon23 that is actually a great idea🔥
this would be nice
I've been saying this for years. It's annoying to watch someone go up with something dumb & get their rebound while I'm in some dumb animation
Agree except if you have good rebounding, you should have less probability of getting stunned if you miss shots around the rim on layup attempts. Like in real life, if you miss your layup, you should be able to fight for the rebound and throw it back up because you have a high rebound rating. That's how it works in real life, with a guard with no rebounding though I agree
Even WITH interior defense, the contest and stops are TRASH. Ppl don't even try to play ball the right way, they know the paint defense is weak af
I knew I wasn’t tripping I’ll have my hands up with a 85 int D 92 block and people still get open coverages on me
this is literally my only complaint about the game bro.
@@hakeem2824 it's insane how bad interior defense is this year. That's the thing they need to talk about not the "shooting discussion"
Shiiiiiiiid... the shooting contest is awful af too. They pin it on "low perimeter defense" but I've seen a 96 perimeter lock get a light contest on a shot where they damn near knocked the shooter over at LEAST 5 times a game 😂
@@yourname487 I didn't even see many NOT "open" shots lol most are either wide open or open....
When it says open but your hand is literally on their face
Literally and that’s with me with 94 interior defense
Perimeter D is like that too lol
@@SeedOilFitnessOfficialyeah man it’s crazy , I have 2 6’3s . One with 75 perimeter one with 94(essentially just 92 , went 94 to cap break to 96 ) both have similar speed and agility and I swear I get the same contests it’s actually a joke
They should take out when someone gets blocked they get the ball right back like the block didn’t even affect then
the ball just falls in the offensive players hands .. meanwhile i got the block and slid out of bounds 😂😂😂😂
Literally
@@ayyslattmy player blocks a dude then runs out the arena 😂
And instant steals when you do get the d board. Like my screen ain’t even flip, but they already stole it back
@@PlumGodit’s crazy because this is one of the biggest problems in the game AND this was a big problem in previous 2ks to the point where they introduced a badge to counter it, just for it to revert right back to being a problem. 2k is a joke and the community stays giving them passes
it’s so stupid cause interior defense is 100x more affective than block, especially compared to last year. but in order to get the badges for interior defense you need a high block rating with mid interior. and it’s so dumb that u can’t get immovable enforcer as a big unless u have perimeter
How’s it stupid for stats to matter outside of just badge levels.
Immovable enforcer is for defending wings and guards. Bigs don’t usually dribble drive.
Well they added off ball pest back to interior this year but it’s absolutely dog shit. I just wanna see myPlayer throw a forearm across a players chest just ONCE when they try to cross my body
It means that having block AND interior is a level above just having one or the other.
@@SleepyEyeSniper it helps when bigs run into you and catch the ball which usually pushes you back under the rim. also helps when you step up on anyone driving to the basket. immovable is very effective for bigs.
So many players ignored interior defense and now they regret the money they spent on that build 😂😂😂
This is why I make my own builds. I only come to YT to see what I’m NOT going to do lol. I have high 82 interior which isn’t crazy but on a SF it can still stop every position
Doesn’t matter if you actually play the game ppl make contested layups and close shots regardless.
@@Camb2r facts
I’m pretty sure interior defense won’t ever be a priority for any of the guards you’re talking about
i got 90 interior and people still be making everything on me
2k removed “backdown resistance” from post move lock badge which is the interior defense stat and added it to strength but it’s exactly like last year in terms of how the stat works.
Also even tho i have high interior and block, shots are still going in via tight coverage lol interior defense is HORRIBLE this year
Thanks Tutes for all the great work.
I have a 95 strength 82 interior and it doesn't work either ..
INTERIOR DEFENSE MATTERS SO MUCH THIS YEAR🤩🤩
bot
Cap 😂 u just be under every comment saying bs 💀
No it doesn't. It's not existent and I play rec on a defensive big.
@@rickjames3249😂😂
It’s garbage gang.
Amazing work as always. Would love to see the boost from Hot and Lethal zones!
Video just uploaded what do you mean amazing work?
Thanks for the appreciation! I'll see what I can do man!
I’d like to see the relationship wingspan and weight has with your ability to rebound and get blocks. It seems obvious that it should increase your ability to get boards and blocks but some of the things I’ve seen while playing makes me question that especially with centers. As always, appreciate these videos
I too am curious how that plays out. Cause there’s some meat sticks who body my burly ahh center in paint
Honestly the more weight you have the more vertical and rebound you need, it’s like the weight holds you down lol but if you have all three high it’s really hard to stop
@@BeybladeDbzFan that’s what I’m trying to figure out. Trying to find a balance between them without going too heavy sacrificing speed
@@VHP-lr7lh also I don’t know why people don’t talk about this enough, body types and motion styles affect rebound, and bump animations. The heavier body styles don’t jump as high as the others ones
Tutes has been the MVP of 2K so far
This is why I added interior d and strength to my 6’ 3”, still not gonna stop centers, but Ill at least be able to contest taller guards to maybe 6’ 9” PFs
@@oldschoolbasketball1197 yep
Literally same for me.
I gave myself 85 interior d... but it doesn't seem like enough against paint mashers
Rip anyone who went under 89 Interior Block
I have an 85 interior defense and I “light contest” all the time and they don’t even time their layups/close shot
I think what people are upset about is not being able to gaurd both a center in the dunker spot and a gaurd going to the rim at the same time anymore (which you shouldnt) over the past few games guys were avle to just stand between both players and contest the layup but if the gaurd passed to the big then the defensive center xould also get a contest on that.
My real centers know Interior defense still needs to be buffed, and driving dunks nerfed. lobs and dunks are too OP over half the time you can’t even contest
If they have a better rating, better badges and the correct angle - you should never be able to block it regardless because that’s logical
@@legendoftheghost4286You sound crazy as hell. If I'm a center and I'm in the paint, I should be able to send everything so long as I'm in the right position. They always baby the offensive players
@legendoftheghost4286 never is a stretch
Just earlier to stop dunks.
I have 90 interior, 97 block and legend paint patroller with a very positive record. Trust me I know what I’m talking about lol
Well i regret putting points in block...Seems like complete trash this year. You can literally be right in someones face and it's not a contest. 100$ wasted 🤦🏾♀🤦🏾♀🤦🏾♀
Block it?
6"10 centers might be the wave .. you can get challenger and immoveable
Ooooh another in depth video 👀
Thanks for the appreciation!
I got a 60 interior with a 85 strength, and I play defense pretty good with that immovable forcer on gold
I’m a 6’7 sg
Strength and wingspan seem like they are more important this year for defense
@@AsapCodeinestretch bigs down bad in the paint
My squad definitely noticed block rating isn't worth it this 2k. Spend points on interior D instead
You need abit of both but overall, interior matters more. If you have no block but high interior, you wont get swats ever lol
The funny part is I felt like interior defense was more important this year because last year my 6’4 could stop center and slashing pg’s simply off positioning. I felt like I needed it with my 6’4 D Mitch build so I put 70 interior and 82 strength and I’m basically a lock now
As a small guard with low interior defense I don't even try to contest shots near the rim. There is no difference between me putting my hands up / contesting a shot in the paint and just not being there at all 😂😂
2K needs to fix the matchmaking in Proving Grounds. I'm a 6'3 PG and I'm put against 6'7 PF like wth is this ?
I have a 92 interior 91 strength 84 block 2 way stretch big and I’m telling you I got worked for 16 points by a post scorer 2 days ago playing defense it didn’t matter if I played hands up or jumped for block and 90% of the time most inside bigs don’t do me like that smh 🤦🏾♂️ I hate paint defense this year all they got do is back down and if they know you gone spam the drop they can post hook or post fade you and the contest you get on that will say wide open lol 😂
All I want to say is that being a defensive center specifically a paint beast type getting dunked by a player with a high driving dunk nearly all the time is just unrealistic. Like I get having a high dunk to increase the make percentage but the blow byes and animations are ridiculous. As if I’m not a 7’1 center with high interior D, block, strength, and nearly a 80 vert.
Chase down blocks are also nonexistent.
@@a7exanderg for sure. They took Chase down out the game not to mention everybody being fast af with high speed and high speed with ball. The fast break buckets are ridiculous, of course there are those that cherry pick too. The game overall needs to change. It was a lot more balanced in some of the older titles but based on the amount of badges, and like there of I feel the devs got lazy and or didn’t want a lot of the meaningful badges reintroduced
BLOCK is mainly for chase downs. Jump contests without contact.
Such as a chasedown blocks. For example, when you are in the paint for guarding post scorers & they drop step, BLOCK & INTERIOR DEFENSE are now both playing a part. Really jump contest with contact. Lastly, if you play hands up paint defense that is strictly INTERIOR DEFENSE.
This interior D is like the beginning of 2k23 it’s non existent no matter how much u got. That’s why i put a 96 close shot on my big n got legend paint prodigy everything going in down there
I feel like interior is probably better defending most post moves, hooks and post fades, but driving layups, dunks, and post dunks I feel like block is more important for
Yup. I have a 6’8 guard with interior and strength and lock post scorers up along with anybody that comes in the paint lol
My 6’6 has 74 interior and sometimes I get stops on centers when I’m in position. Nobody listened when I said interior matters a lot
My question is what’s more important…The elite unmovable strength badge that prevents back down or 99 interior defense? Can we test that?
Thank you for all your work.
Thanks for the appreciation!
Could you also do a video on visual cues? Which one is the best?
@@attorneygriggs already got one on the channel
Been requesting this one thanks again Tutes ‼️🙏🏽
Something so simple and somehow it’s overlooked for spamming crossovers and step backs. Now you know why ya build getting violated and can’t make a stop
I got 77 interior, 93 block, 95 strength and 80 vertical. I know where my cap breakers will be going 😊 I get a lot of aggressive blocks and contests but I do get dunked on sometimes and have trouble contesting quick dunks. Outside of that I do feel feared in the paint most games.
The vertical and rebounding correlation would be great.
Tutes for the Win!! thanks man 💪🏽
Let’s go! I made a 6‘6 Center with 88 interior Defense and only a 78 block (80 is max but doesn’t give any extra badges). Was scared that interior defense would be useless for hands up Defense in the paint. Thanks for the video!
80 block gives you different animations. It’s been a threshold for a long time.
I thought the shortest center we can make is 6'7'?
@@Duneekit is he must mean PF
@@Duneek pf sorry but I play C on it … not for rec but park
@@user-cu5ee1hx3y Oh okay, makes sense.
People saying don’t worry block rating being high , but on a center it still has to be decent I think…no tests done yet but I have silver paint potroller and it feels good. No cue how it compares to bronze or gold
The contest system is just overall trash and broken. I hate how they completely overhaul the game just for the sake of calling it “new”. They need to stop changing every single thing, keep wat works and listen to the community and build on it. A game like this does not need a overhaul every single year.
I see the same results with perimeter defense. When I think I get a good contest really close to the defender it still shows up as open or wide open
Could you please do a vid on perimeter d and shot contest, as well as the relationship between height and shot contest. Maybe even see how much wingspan plays a factor if at all?🙏🏾🙏🏾
For my C - I have 83 interior with 93 block, 91 strengt so that once get my plus 5 i can have 84 Int. & 97 block for HOF Paint Patroller.
Most Cs dont get the opportunity to just back down all game so i find it sufficient & hope for a little more juice once i get the plus 5.
You have to be in good position. But that is only about a 60% chance to get a missed shot and even less for a block.
I mean 2k finally made it make sense. We just got spoiled with block and anchors adding in contest. I bet a lot of centers went higher with block and wonder why they aint giving heavy contest (aside from animation bs) My question is, with a 99 int and 80 block does interior add contest when jumping or does block take over and your contest goes to 💩 if you fail to block?
My block is a 93 and my interior is i think a 95😅 i wasnt playing around this year... im still traumatized from last year. Didnt even bother with shooting all paint defense and strength.
So what, did they update interior? Cause I have a 93 interior and 92 strength and get backed down like a baby and drop stepped
Every game? No way
Let go of intense Defense (Left trigger on Xbox, L2 on PS5) and push both analog sticks towards the direction of the player attempting to back you down. This will make your character automatically push back
What's your weight?
@@SBzKillFrenzy No one really knows this. Holding the intense defense makes you susceptible to every post move they have.
You probably weigh 2 pounds, nice attempt to cheat the system. Too bad for you
Can you do big guy motion styles?
Hey Tutes, this isn't related to this video, but I think you need to look closer at rhythm shooting. In previous years I used to shoot ~70% from 3, and this year I went down to ~40% using high-risk. A couple days ago I switched to rhythm shooting and after getting comfortable with it, I am back up to ~70%. My conspiracy theory is that this is the way we are supposed to shoot now, and all the issues are shooting right now are actually designed to push people towards rhythm. I haven't seen anyone test green windows on rhythm shooting yet, which sounds like a tough one to test, but I think that's the next step.
please tutes we need the big man motion style video asap lol
I got 82 interior and I swear to god it seems like it doesn’t matter all people force layups on real player percentage and there’s nothing I can do
Because that's pretty low interior.
@@kobeandgary low is crazy
@@BeeSmokeYTdude is tripping I got a defensive anchor with legendary paint protector and layups that are red contest go in vs me. Paint defense is non existent 😂
7’0 2 way stretch Five
With cap breaker legend Reb chaser legend paint patroller, legend post lockdown 89 mid 84 3 80 vert 92 str build is crazy on offense n defense glad I put that interior I get crazy stops in that paint n snatch blocks
Drop the whole stat line with Wingspan and weight rn, if it’s really like that
What’s your pass accuracy tho
You need 2 cap breakers unlocked so vet 2 rep and one max +1 badge to get legend post lock, rebound chaser, and paint patroller. You have to max +1 post lock because legend needs 99 interior and 97 str
7 ft 7'3 wingspan 256 pounds
89 middy, 82 3pt, 93 interior d, 94 block cap break +5 to 99 for legend paint patroller, 94 d rebound cap break +5 to 99 for legend rebound chaser, 92 strength then whatever you want.
I put close shot up to 92 because mashing with timing off is insane. 70 post control for silver post fade phenom 78 pass 40 speed with ball for normal dribble moves 70 free throw and 66 speed.
The build is solid even without cap breakers but if I made this I would drop block to 78 and bring pass up to 94 and post control up to 79 for gold post fade phenom. Cap break rebound to 99 and pass to 99 for every passing badge on legend. Tutes just showed high block is ass for centers this year. Much better to have high interior and play hands up so you are in position to get the rebound and throw an absolute steamer on the fast break with legend break starter and legend dimer.
74 interior and 84 block on my 6’7 270 7’3 popper is all i need to be affective protecting the rim
Thanks for sharing!
Yeah that's cute but you aren't playing the 5 😂
@@darkmatter7668I’ll say 70 and 84 is serviceable but I was struggling against the paint mashers who go for close shots more. Interior d definitely works this year the people complaining don’t have good positioning and don’t have high enough to make up for It
thats major cap, i have a 6'7 C and there is no way you can have any sort of presence on paint close shots with 74 INT.
@@darkmatter7668 should of added that i only play 2’s n 3’s with that build. 5’s would be cooked definitely better options
the only thing they didnt get right imo is that you cannot get paint patroller from interior defense otherwise the changes are pretty good.
Yeah hands up defense and good positioning doesn't always stop post scorers
Thanks bro, this was really needed
Thank God I have a 93 block with 88 interior D on my big
What do these tests show tho need to test around low 60s to mid 80s. Nobody really running 99 stats fr if you trying to find the best value stat.
Word
In Tutes we trust
my guy
paint patroller is a goated badge, even silver is op
So is it fair to assume that even a 99 interior 99 block center with 25 perimeter D, (Rudy gobert) when contesting a 3pt shot it will be a low contest shot if not blocked?
I suggest you try comparing timings and visual cue from the jumpshot creator Compare that to 24 That would help a lot.
Tutes you should do if contests change with same interior defense at different heights .. PART TWO ASAP PLEASE!!!
I have 85 interior and 97 block and the defense feels better than last year for sure
At some point MIT will do a study on how to be successful at 2k
This has gotten out of hand
Missed testing Vertical Block contest
Only get interior if you want post lockdown otherwise go for immovable enforcer and block.
Basically the attributes finally do what they say😂😂😂😂
made a build with 82 interior and 84 block but i would have i went 88 interior and 78 block instead after watching this vid.
Tutes show how bad steals got nerfed compared to nba2k24
Hey Tutes, you did a video with guards heights and their perimeter defense… can you do the same with big’s height and their interior defense?
Nerf chase down. Tired of being on a fast break and I’m second guessing the lay because someone is behind me.
Ngl it needs a buff no way my 6’8 sg maxed weight with 88 interior and good strength with a high block should be getting backed down super easy
please test blocking dunks and paint patroller i have hof paint patroller and its almost impossible to block dunks for me i don't know what to do
70 interior is not enough, that's what I went with on my 6'7" pf and unless you play perfect jump with my 84 block layups and close shots are going in
can you test legend pick dodger for locks ?
Can you do big man motion styles been waiting on that
Interior defense does not work
Thanks for doing this one
Interior defense is way way good this year, my 6’7 popper has a 88 and you have to be 7’3 to even score on me
88 interior, 93 block.
Amazing
Same here...and if memory serves me correct, that means you have gold post lockdown and gold paint patroller
Same for me. Also with 80 vert and 95 strength. I feel like paint defense is fine.
@@SBzKillFrenzy yes sir. Those badge requirements are what I follow when in doubt. 80 vert, and only 90 strength, but 76 speed so I’m not running in slow-mo.
I got 84 interior, 93 block, 89 strength and 84 vert. feel easy to stop people attempt to drive to paint to score but hard to stop them just lay up under the ring.
Praying I hit the sweet spot 😉 commented before watching
rim patroller and high flying denier please
Legendary paint patroller is absolute garbage either something wrong with close shots being overpowered but on the two Court you cannot stop it
Please cover rhythm shooting on a low three ball, 74 and below for us big men. Please and thank you
I have an inside the Arc PF with high finishing. I’m going up against these SF/PF “locks” with no Interior and I’m feasting. Love it. Your 95 perim and steal isn’t going to help you in the paint.
Tutes Can you test how important height is for rebounding, 6’9 vs 7 footers
when u do these tests do u add the badges that come with the ratings? like a 99 block would give u legend paint patroller, was that added into the equation?
Steals should be next , great vid as always
Paint patroller !!!!
I have 95 perimiter Defense and Hof challenger. And still gaurds be shooting greens in my face from 3
INTERIOR VS HEIGHT. I have 60 but im 6'2 and i never have any contests
I have been wondering, but this might be really hard to test but the rebounding, size, vertical, wingspan and even speed comibined makes me very curious. I believe there is a sweetspot to make the perfect rebounder build but finding it seems very hard.
Is a max size max wingspan 99 rebounding will be better than a smaller build but with more athletic stats it seems that there's a lot of variables but could be super interesting to theory craft it
What about high Interior defence but low strength? it's much more complex this year
Interior defense is hot garbage. I have a PF 6’7 max wingspan playing straight hands up defense, 82 interior and people are making N/A layups and standing layups…… 🗑️
Ur 6’7 and weigh 2 pounds. Found your issue
7' and 84 interior 93 block still can't stop tiny bois lay up on my face under the ring.
@@savagebanana7560 you weigh 1 pound with chicken arms as your wingspan. I’m a miracle worker solving people’s problems out here.
Whats the attribute threshhold for the different block animations tho? wasnt covered in ur last vid
2k purposely don’t tell you things like this so they can confuse you into thinking you made a bad build so you can make a new build to make them more money
