    Edward Van Halen: A genius, self taught guitar engineer without out fear of guitar destruction. Breaker of the guitar construction rules and a fancy fingers technical virtuoso. The G.O.A.T. The Legend. The One and Only. I can do this all day.😂🎸👍

    Probably no better moniker for EVH than "Tone Chaser." Dude, I think, had an affliction that tormented him all his life to find the right sound. It's got to be an OCD thing. Even took it so far to build his own guitars. People just didn't do that back then.
    Speaking of creative OCD - Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has spoken a lot about that creative bee in the bonnet where there is something inside the brain trying to get it out. And he writes and records a beautiful song but still it isn't quite what he was looking for. I think, adjusted for inflation, "Good Vibrations" is still the most expensive song ever recorded. He spent months on it.

    • @steveinmidtown
      @steveinmidtown Год назад +1

      was reading recently that Ed probably "was on the autism or Asperger spectrum" due to his social awkwardness & insane ability to focus on one thing so intensely.

    • @mindeloman
      @mindeloman Год назад +1

      @@steveinmidtown and those on the spectrum have a rigid view on justice and fairness. Which sounds about right. Ed always got really angry about people copying him or not giving him credit. And the growing resentment towards Michael because MA was getting 1/4 writing credit towards all the songs when it was he and Roth that did the majority of the writing. Or rather, the difficult aspects of song writing.
