This concert by Velvet Revolver was filmed at the Palladium in Cologne, Germany in March 2008 for the legendary German TV series Rockpalast.
The concert was near the end of the tour for their second album "Libertad" and came just a few days before the band went on hold following the departure of singer Scott Weiland. The set draws heavily on the "Libertad" album but also features tracks from their debut album "Contraband" and covers of Stone Temple Pilots and Guns 'n' Roses tracks.

I always have read comments on VR videos that many Slash fans has a rude,competitive and even childish attitude by trying to set that the in VR the man was Slash. I´m a musician and I feel respect for his career , he is a rockstar and he has his own sound ... but in terms of talent and musical skills I think Scott is one of the best of 80 y 90 decades , the guy was a chamaleon.
In spite of very rude comments soon after Scott was fired, they never were able to continue VR , why ? because Scott was a gifted guy and furthermore was a very charismatic musician . The ironic story was the same that STP , both bands fired him because of his drug problem but at the same time they killed their own bands forever. R.I.P Scott .
Slash is for sure a great guitar player and his songs with GNR are classics but he's somehow considered in general more like a guitar rock icon (thanks to his look too) than a great guitar player imo. I was never really impressed with his guitar style/music that much...especially with his band Slash's Snakepit. I like Velvet Revolver way more and honestly I think Scott was the most talented vocalist (don't forget Scott was a great musician all around) Slash had in any of the bands he was involved in. Just my opinion, you're free to disagree ofc.

Grunge in general had so many talented vocalists. Scott was a damn good vocalist that could adapt his voice to any genre but got overshadowed by powerhouses like layne and cornell
It's not best of Scott's performance but i like when he sings "Falling Do-o-own" like this ( 2:19 ).
Nobody knows what "it"is,but Scott had it.There is no comparing his talent and stagepresence.There hasn't been anyone like him since he died.R.I.P,you had to go to soon.

scott is extreeeeemely flat in the chorus. it's only bearable because he knows how to smother it up a bit and his voice sounds good here. admittedly, that "pieces" bit isn't easy to hit... but that's what happens when you record stuff you can't pull off live repeatedly.

you try signing every night for a number of weeks when your touring, every have a sore throat? thats exactly what scott has here. hes an amazing singer but anyone can have an off night. also in a studio you can take a song line by line and do it as many times as you want to get it absolutely perfect thats the way things are done, has nothing to do with autotuning. Live is live, perfection cannot be expected thats what makes live music so amazing
