I come back to this specific performance often, as I've done today, when I'm feeling a big way. This is just sheer power. VR may have been a quick flash, but at the time they were unquestionably the best rock band on the planet. Fall to Pieces is one of the most beautiful rock ballads ever written.
All the hype went to Eddie vedder. All the critical acclaim went to Layne, deservedly so. Chris. Scott was overlooked but STP was my low-key favorite. Not just musically but lyrically and vocally. I loved pearl jam but I couldn't ever really relate to the lyrics except for a few songs. Scott's style was so unique. So esoteric. Definitely had some of the most notable lines from the crowded 90s. It's unreal how much better the 90s was, for me at least, then the past two decades for the new generation of young people. And I'm not saying it's all bad, but I think the 90s was the decade of the century musically. We even had a short swing phase. Just so many treasures to find, even for those who lived through it there's always more.
@@thisisisabella3634 I'm a big Alice In Chains fan, a much bigger Pearl Jam fan but STP are probably my favourite band. Not just as talented and powerful but much more creative and varied.
me facina esta cancion scott weiland es mi idolo , esta fue la primera vez que lo vi en vivo con velvet revolver y toda via me explota esa adrenalina cuando lo veo
My mother was a junkie. I wouldn't understand. I don't do drugs, why would I want to do something it took my mother, the one who brought me into this world, the woman who first kissed me, the woman who first touched me, the woman who showed me love, I don't understand it there's so much to live for
Some people are born and choose to do it because their parents do, my dad is a great guy but he’s a very angry dude and scared me a lot as a kid, his dad did it to him. That’s why my dad did. I have a great relationship w my dad but his brains wired to be the way his dad was. But I would never do that to my kid. I’m choosing to not be like that, same as you. Good stuff buddy
And you live in a different time you must understand you have much more information than she did in the 70s not making excuses but its a big mistake people always make trying to gauge yesterday with today's knowledge
RIP SCOTT WEILAND ❤️😍😍❤️❤️❤️ I Love this Song 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 I'll keep you in my Heart forever ❣️❣️❣️❣️ Every time I hear this Song I Fall to Pieces 😭😭😉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ You are Truly Missed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Remember the first time seeing the video on tv stopped me in my tracks as I walked past. Felt like we were the same person (besides me the fact I can’t play or sing lol) this has become my life anthem it seems
I saw a Cyndi Lauper with friends concert on 📺. She brought out Scott and he was a Rockstar! Wearing black leather pants, probably didn't shave for a week or shower for that matter 🤔. He was great . It's on RUclips. FWI, if I close my eyes during his solo profomance I would think David Bowie was singing!!!
@@IRequireMedication that's 3 great singers, definitely great picks,, my picks for metal vocalists are IAN GILLIAM,LAYNE STALEY,and my all time favorite ROB HALFORD
Rob Halford is the only metal singer on these lists. The others are Hard rock, grunge. They are indeed freaking amazing singers though and agree they are some of the best ever. Just not metal singers.
@@IRequireMedication Yeah...no. Rob Halford. RJ DIO. Sebastian Burk...err...Bach. Robert Plant. David Coverdale. Dave Draiman. Staley. Cornell. I LOVE me some STP and VR...but let's not get crazy about his vocal talent. There are MANY vocalists that soar above him.
What a difference in the crowd from the statuesque early 2000s versus the early 90s when everyone would’ve been rocking out. Here they’re absolutely stiff and static, and no excuses… They didn’t even have smart phones yet!
Rip Mr weiland ❤ I still listen to you on the regular….always will
Nice Sheila. Have you listen to Don Williams?
Fucking legend. All the great ones usually die too young
Sad he's not with us 🔥
Matt Sorum is killing it back there 🔥
I do too

Sucked to be Axl Rose in 2004😂
Mr. Wieland was a god on earth, just for people to witness his greatness. Rip bud!
Such a loss, not just a great performer but a great voice!!! Still listen to STP and VR all the time!!! R.I.P Scott!!!
Same here
Say no
The best go first💖🖤

Is that Tommy Lee rockin' out in the first row during the guitar solo?
Gone..Way before his Time..No one can Duplicate his voice or Stage presence..🙏 Rip..
He’s so honest here about how he feels the guilt for his addict antics. RIP Scott. Fair winds and following seas.
I don't understand the need, the craving to feel high artificially.........but I don't condemn those who do feel that need....R.I.P., Scott........
Thank you so much for posting this great and precious concert video.
Scott died here in Minneapolis Mn at mall of America my HS buddy Dave in Rochester had the band booked the next night.
I'm not a slash fanboy but his solo here i feel is his best hands down
This was always tough to listen to someone on a downward spiral. Makes it even a bit harder these days as I am on one of my own.
Don't be or think your alone, it can happen to the best of us. I might be 3000 miles away but I'm always here my friend. Anytime
Don’t give up!! You’re worth it to get clean and demon free ♥️ 🤩 🙏
To to tacomaguy seems life is bleak before the sun shines on you I understand
Hang on, and wait for the storm to pass. Think about the good things that wait for you afterwards. Peace to you, brother.

I was at River Riot & he did Jean Genie as an encore. check it out "Stone Temple Pilots - Jean Genie (Bowie) - River Riot 2010"

Song reminds me of the alcoholism and pain my brother had for so many years before taking his life. Addiction is brutal.
