Thanks so much for posting this! Quick and easy fix to a problem that one of the local scam artist dealerships around in L.A. would have charged an arm around and a leg for without even changing out any parts.

OMG! I had the exact same problem, so I was reallyhappy to see this fix. I did 2 things differently: 1 I did not bother to unplug the 2 wiring harnesses - just left the fixture attached to them, 2 I didn't swap sides on the switches, I just snapped them off and put them back on. That immediately fixed the problem! No cost. ONly took about 15 minutes. BTW I used a table knif to pop off the clear lenses...

Bro, that crap was driving me crazy. I did exactly the same as you demonstrated here & switching the buttons worked for me too. Thank you.

Are you aware where the exact location is for the fuse to these lights? I can't seem to find it. Thanks!

The fuse box under the hood. Facing the car it's on the right. Labeled 'interior lights.'

I forgot about that switch in between the front map lights.

This was a great help to DIY people who would get charged A LOT at a dealership. However, it did not really solve the problem.... follow me here... You can't solve a problem if you can't identify the problem. A bulb can't be bad and then suddenly be good. Switching two identical switches into their counterpart positions should do nothing! Yet it did! So what was the actual problem and what is a long term solution. I have a 2012 Honda Pilot EXL with light interior light problems similar to this. I'm going to measure the voltages and resistances. I suspect that there is computer logic at fault somewhere in this. I can tell that Honda went ape sh*t adding technology without having good testing procedures from this and other problems. For instance I bled my brakes... bled my brakes!!! And now I have the little wrench icon on my dashboard all lit up in yellow. Why? Fortunately, I have bled brakes on these vehicle before and if I just ignore it the yellow light will go out and the code will go away. Bad coding in the computer!
