It must be so nice to have Spring Like weather. We had -15 below in Litchfield County, Connecticut yesterday. It’s 30 degrees today. Thank you for this awesome video!! Learned a great deal. Have a blessed rest of the week.
Carolyn, that is *so* cold!! Oh my gosh. I hope you're staying inside and warm. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video - regular maintenance on your iron is so important, especially when it's a tool that gets used so often. Looking forward to sharing a few more "spring cleaning" videos in weeks to come!
Perpetua, they totally rock!! Seriously, I clean *everything* with them. Good luck with your iron cleaning - you're going to love how clean it is when you finish!
Thanks Jen, this was great and so many tips to get the iron clean and not marking my quilt. I might be convinced to buy a not non-stick iron in future.
Hi Karen! I do give it a quick rinse out. The vinegar has a sting smell, and (especially if you use the steam setting) you want to get any vinegar out. I recommend a few puffs of the steam valves after you’ve rinsed it just to be sure.
I'm so glad the vinegar and magic eraser are working for you! They're my go-to - especially the magic eraser. That said, my husband chided me for using the magic eraser on painted cabinets as it will eventually rub all the paint off (he's right, as it's gotten thinner in the area I frequently wash with the magic eraser). Good luck with your iron!
Hi Ultra 3B - irons can be a bit tricky sometimes. If you're having trouble with yours, I'd recommend looking up the user manual online (if you don't still have the paper copy) and/or messaging the manufacturer. Good luck!
Well you’re a minute and a half into your video and we still haven’t figured out any way to do your iron let’s get it together hon you got a good voice but you got to get it to
Hi Nancy! You can always use the Chapters to jump around in the video. If you open up the details, you'll see there are a few chapters on there to help you "fast forward" to key moments, or to repeat a step if you need. Happy cleaning!
Hi Karen, yep! Definitely give it a rinse after. As for a substitute for a magic eraser...I would try using just a damp cloth. You don't want to use something overly abrasive, though, as you'll scratch the face of your iron.
She did an excellent job teaching how to clean your iron. It worked like a charm. Thank you ma'am.
Sharon, thank you! I'm so glad you found it helpful. Here's to a clean iron and more sewing!

Just did my iron..finally. It's perfect again. Thank you.
Great, Roger! I'm so glad to hear the techniques for cleaning your iron helped to get your iron back to tip top shape.
I am totally in the Spring Cleaning mood! This was a fun video
Thanks, Sara - I'm all about cleaning up the studio this week!
I pull out my iron twice a year - Christmas and Easter. 🙈 Thank you for this info because it’s almost that time again!! 🤣
Eileen - haha! If it weren't for quilting, I'd hate to even *think* of the last time I used my iron :)
Magic erasers ROCK! Thanks so much for this: I didn't even realize you COULD clean irons!

Aww, thank you, Raylee! That means a lot - and good luck with cleaning *your* iron!
Magic eraser.. wow why didn't I think of that? Great video
Magic erasers are great! So many uses for them.
Great video! I’ve never thought to use a magic eraser on my iron 😊
Thank you! Yes, the Magic Eraser works *so* well for removing those stubborn stains...and so many other household messes, too :)
Going to try, excited
Sumbai, great! Let me know how it goes for you. It really made a huge difference on my iron - and it's functionality - once I cleaned it.
Wowwwww 😍👌🏻💖❣it's amazing. Thanks a lot of Jen
Thanks so much! Nothing as nice as a clean iron, that's for sure :)
Great advice!
Thanks, Craig - with a bit of elbow grease, our irons are like new in no time!
Use distilled water in your iron to avoid mineral buildup.
Thank you - that is a great tip!
Do you rinse the inside after the water/vinegar cleaning? And what do you use if don’t have magic eraser??

My iron looks much worse 😥. I am applying white vinegar several times and rubbing with a magic eraser and it seems to be working.

How fast can u warm up a tortilla on the iron?
Hmm...that's an awesome question :) Does the tortilla already have cheese on it? A quesadilla would be awesome as a sewing snack!
@@FaithandFabric im not sure if it gets hot enough because it doesnt use fire. Can u make a vid making a quesadilla on the iron?
It did not work this thing to my iron🙃.

Too long ..
Hey there Ppee...feel free to use the chapters to jump around if one section feels a tad too long or is something you already know. Happy ironing!
Do you rinse the inside after the water/vinegar mix?? And if you don’t have a magic eraser, what do you use??

@@FaithandFabric Your video was very informative. Thanks!!
