I have a 2021 F150 5.0 and In the mornings some days my dome light wont come on and the dash dings (sounds) are different along with reverse and seat belt. After I drive it and turn it off then get back in the sounds are back to normal. I am thinking this might be a battery thing, a BMS or because of the removal of the auto air dam I did awhile back (I can see messages about the dam when I check forscan but no codes) I am not sure what could cause the issues, do you think its a battery? BMS? I have put a meter on it and the battery is good. This issue has been happening intermittently over the last 1.5 months.

I do all my own maintenance but I am skeptical if the newer generation of engines and trans will hold up to 150k without major problems like the cam phasers. Would love your experienced thoughts. Thanks.
Dual batteries in the super duty diesel or gas don’t seem to last as long as a single battery gas setup. I have a 6.2 gas dual batteries and they spit out acid and failed. Replaced under warranty but the corrosion cleanup was not included. I paid but still got back rusty brackets and hold downs. Finished the job myself.
Rich ,we got a base 2014 F150 at work it’s a company truck I helped my coworker change the battery, I remembered this video but does it apply for our truck?
Brother I've really got a lot of videos on this thing if you don't have a sensor on your negative cable like right on the terminal itself that it connects to the battery then you don't have a battery monitor system but no matter what if you just let the vehicle sit for 8 hours on touched it will reset anyway
@FordBossMe I changed the battery on my 2014 f150 xlt, and now my stereo won't work and my left turn signal is acting like a bulb is out even though they are all working. Any help would be greatly appreciated
We recently bought a used 2013 F150. The battery was bad so i brought it to OReily Auto to have a new one installed. They lost the terminal adjuster nuts so they had to travel to warehouse to get them. The truck is just sitting there until they get the right parts to install the new battery. It appears their jump box thing they were using to prevent system power from going out was dead. Which means the BMS will need reset. My question is, will it be ok to drive home (5 miles)? Also, once I get home, can we let it sit for 8 hours to reset the BMS or will it require a computer?
First of all you have to look at the negative battery terminal and make sure it does have a connector for the BMS and if there's no connector plugged into it for the BMS and it's just a regular battery cable then you don't have a BMS regardless at the end of the day after sitting for 8 hours it should reset with a new battery without you doing anything
Just to clarify, if I go from the stock H6 to an H8 I won’t need to do anything else in forscan just this? I’m staying with AGM as I know there is a setting for that change.
Thanks for the vid! It worked on my 2016 F150. I did this since I just replaced my dying OEM with an AGM. Will this reset get the BMS to recognize this AGM?
Is this something that should self correct after a new battery install? I had AAA install a new battery since they advised the old one died and the charging elements tested ok. But now I’m getting the “system off to save battery” message again on my 2011 f150.
The 2011 F150 did not have a battery monitor reset system so chances are you either have something wrong with the charging system or the battery itself is an issue

@@billmalec That was my experience. Also, on the 2009-2014 there is a Hall Effect sensor on the negative wire, it looks like a thick ring around the cable. If so, these trucks DO need the life of the battery reset before starting the relearn (sitting over night or extended driving). This way the BCM knows it a new vs old battery and charged accordingly.
You have to look at the negative battery post and if there is a sensor on it this should work but if you don't have a sensor directly bolted to the terminal itself it won't work for you but anyway there is an easier way to do it than this and that's simply just letting your vehicle sit for 8 hours after the battery is changed the vehicle automatically resets the BMS anyway don't touch the vehicle for 8 hours after you change the battery and it will reset
