Nah, I will pass. No everyone is a born comedian. His stuff is cringe af, and this is the best case scenario. Just awful.
@@DrNoBrazil Good thing he isnt a comedian then...He is a tech writer for a youtube channel.
For that kind of money you could renovate your office space, get a comfy chair, a desk with some actually useful space, a HiFi system, monitors AND buy an entirely new gaming rig.
But thats super lame
But is it all in one?
that would take more effort, and for the average person sitting in this chair - i would imagine that a tall order 🤣🤣🤣
But I want to make bad decisions about large amounts of money.
It doesn't even come with a computer. Last year I spent 900 on a desk, 700 on a chair, 4000 on the computer. 1000 on a new monitor. I'd still have 7000 left to renovate my office.
So smooth with the cup trick I almost didn't realize the 15,000 gaming chair couldn't hold a generic water bottle in it's cupholder
Its such a simple thing too, just a single additional piece of bent metal on the bottom...
@@Drache832 its a pre production model they will probably change that alongside the footrest. Im sure everyone at ces co plained about the cupholder. In fact i bet the clear cup came from the peeps running the booth.
They be sipping expensive water... lifestyle brand
@@zeroa69 they cant casually ask for a 15k if all they have to show is that pre production model. they could at least have a flyer or a pamphlet that shows the entire full production thing if thats the case.
More than 15k for what is essentially a gaming chair, wobbly, tiny desk and an overhead monitor stand... This is not a bad price, it is a delusional one!
"it is a delusional one!" so just the right price for a spoiled child that has millionaire parents
@@faustinpippin9208 Hey don't insult Jake like that lol
The price could be justified if you view it as a luxury design product.. some people pay more than that for a single desk or chair if it is hand built with quality material.
I mean it all looks like slapped together shit though.
I've been enjoying the CES coverage, but LTT has definitely been a bit... overly happy with everything haha. Still some good, fun coverage.
Yeah I was kind of imagining the desk I could build around a $1500 chair and how amazing it would be if I spent an additional $13,500 on it lol.
This thing costs more than twice as much as my last car, and it's just a seat and desk with RGB lights. Insane.
Exactly right? Total bs in my eyes
Also, it's less replacable than a regular seat and desk. If the seat cushioning is worn out after some time or the mechanism of the table breaks in a few years, i highly doubt that you can just replace that one part. This will be an extremely low volume product, and i dont think there will be spare parts in a few years
Also you forgot it has built in speakers taken from an iphone 4s
It'd be way cheaper to make it yourself
Yeah you're right. I paid about $10k for my (at the time) 3 year old corolla. This is almost twice as expensive as that.
That's the most wobbly $15'000 table I've ever seen.
it looks like a airplain tray chunked onto a 90s arcade chair. and then the novelty of a monitor smashed into your face wairs off
Just lean on it.
@@gorkskoal9315 show me a '90s arcade chair that nice.
for that price, i expect full 7.1 atmos/dts, vibration seat maybe even a massage feature and aircon or at least cooling.
i was fully expecting a massage mode
Linus is such a good father letting his son go to CES
Edit: He even has his fathers surprised face I see in all the thumbnails!
Dan E, drop the jealousy..
@@Modern-MiddelE what do you mean? You can go to a gay bar if you want any time.
@TwoCan Sams, when you grow up, look back to your comment, and hopefully, you will be able to see how dumb your comment is.
I'm definitely getting one of these...
in five years when they realize no one wants to buy them and they slash prices because these monstrosities take up too much warehouse space
With that size they should have put a 5.1 surround sound system in it.
I was just thinking that, plus for the price it should have top end hifi not basic ass pc speakers.bare minimum they should have studio monitors.
Same. For that price they should have branded tuned audio speakers and Dolby Atmos. It has an actual ceiling to mount height speakers so it should be a no brainer.
Yep. had to rewind to make sure they actually said "2.1 spatial audio". The whole thing really is more about looks than anything functional, even getting in and out taking half a minute every time -- probably fun to watch/experience first two times but every time after that, no thanks.
Imagine if it had motorized tilt and spin controls. There you are, in your minamilist open format executive office, facing the massive windows. your secretary comes in to speak with you, and you motor-magically spin your pod around and lift the screen out of the way to give them your attention
If they motorised the tilting etc they could maybe also market it for vr/ar I guess
"Do you expect me to talk?"
" No Mr Bond, I expect you to game."
that may be worth something, still not $15000
I get a really dystopian Wall-E vibe from this thing. Not sure why it looks really fun but I could see having something like this in a 10x10 room that has a toilet and shower and that being your whole living arrangement.
Came here to say that
or an office that's just a bunch of these, replacing the cubicles.
With how much the size of GPUs have been going up, I’m not sure that computer compartment will be big enough for long.
it's only a matter of time until nvidia's flagships will only come water-cooled, because the heatsinks are getting ridiculous in size
Soon you will need a study room alone just to put your PC systems in instead of in my bedroom beside my bed, I already have a Sim rig that beside my chair which occupy as much space as my ergo chair lol, Ive got an IKEA's desk thats either 180cm or 220 cm long and it's full of all the pc related stuff
I know, my 3070Ti is 3 1/2 slots thick and like a foot long lol.
As the video didn't give us a real good view of that compartment it's hard to tell just how much space is really available given the curvature on the panel he pulled off and such. With some slight/major mods it might be possible to use that compartment itself AS the computer casing, better still if there's some holes/ports that could be used for adding liquid cooling radiators to the outside.
Though I'd be concerned as to just how repairable that rig is now and how long they'll continue to make parts for it.........
Honestly, I would have expected something like a swing out mother board tray and attachment points so that the Orb itself is the case instead of having a secondary case inside of it.
riight, it would make it so easy to upgrade any components. I bet it can be done aftermarket, but for 15k... we'll never know hahaha
Dude, for $15K those speakers really need to be freaking incredible, and it doesn't sound like they're even close incredible. Also the main failing I see in these types of setups is apparent support for multiple monitors. I'd also like the ability to extend the monitor back a couple feet, either for multiple monitors or for a much larger monitor like the ultrawide mentioned.
Acer's version of this was around $11'000 dollars if I remember correctly and it comes with a triple monitor mount with a PC and all the peripherals plus all three monitors
now we're talking! see for some kind kind niche thing (amusement parks?) or your geek-cave then it coming with the computer is a step in the right direction.
I'd never have the space for it, but I could see the focus advantages.
That being said, IMO desks feel so disjointed these days because interior design trends moved completely away from building in functionality into rooms when the rooms used to be catered to their purposes - including desks
I can see this being liberated if LTT ever gets a sample unit.
It will end up with dennis
Linus would have to buy 8 or 10 so that all the writers can steal them from the office.
@@kb470 Nah. This setup doesn't have a built in foot massager!
It's been the same for decades because it simply works. Same with for example a pencil basically unchanged since whenever exept for a mechanical pencil which not alot use because it is expensive and easy to break. I see the same in these "desks"
Yet some people are quite happy with their mechanical pencil so it's not like it's a bad product. If you get what I mean.
The wobbly desk freaks me out even through this video, I can't even imagine the frustration IRL. The desk MUST lock.
.. but you are fine with equally wobbly monitor every time Jake moves his hands around a bit? :D j/k, the whole thing looks like something made to be looked at, not used.
DBrand really makes LTT work for the money, showing them they gotta earn it 😂
But they pay up when its needed...
I saw one of the video from CES23 being sponsored by Acer where LTT showed Laptops from Lenovo and MSI, that probably pissed them off..
I love how they found the most Canadian Hoser Dude in Burnaby on that dbrand spot.
All its missing is an insulin container, automatic hot pocked dispenser, and mtn dew dispenser.
*Barf* that'd end someone pretty quickly if they got alot of fee time 🤣 after a month have to call fire department to use jaws of life cut you out of it lol.

We're finally getting to a point where I can successfully recreate JPs office from Grandma's Boy and I'm here for it.
Can we have a full video of Riley giving tech tips to people on the street
I feel like you can get a similar experience by moving 8" closer to your monitor.
Definitely looking forward to the in-office reviews of all the nice gaming products and laptops from CES.
By the time it'll make sense for someone to buy it, VR headsets with comfortable armchair should be a more immersive and affordable experience 😅
Ready! player one!
This looks extremely similar to the Emperor chair from MWE labs I tried at PAX like 14 years ago. This just has more leather and RGB. Admittedly it was super cool.
Love seeing Jake's enthusiasm. He's really coming into his own as a host.
Keep up the great work!
I always loved seeing videos with him, not just recently!
He’s great and I like his character, I’d love to be buddies with him!
We have quite the same hobbies so talking to him would be really interesting :)
okay I'll admit it I'd love this for my vintage flight sim games to go full immersion.
Like imagine the Death Star trench run on Xwing in this thing
@Upcycle Shoes 🤣🤣🤣
Wall-e was way ahead of it´s time with the floating chairs.
MWElab has been doing this for around a decade now with their Emperor Scorpion office pod. While I've not dug deep into comfort and QoL differences, I would want one if I could reliably integrate it into a sit-or-stand VR setup.
So glad to see you Jake! It gets more and more rare to see you on camera. Although i do appriciate hearing you laugh in the background quite often! Hope to see more of you!
Honestly I love Jake's videos. I wish he hosted more.
@@matteventu the same!
The second he said you could adjust something manually I was like NOPE! At that price, EVERYTHING wants to be electronically adjustable
Riley talking to random Vegas junkies is best part of these videos
This guy is so fun to watch. Keep it up man
If they take away all that RGB and bright lights, I might like it
use the off button?
You are going to need a lot of space in your home for one of those. It looks even larger than my sim racing rig, and that takes up half of my office.
Wow this is such an amazing desk, It reminds me of those awesome little gamer scooters that the people in wall-e rode around their spaceship in.
honestly, with the direction that Cooler Master is taking with the company, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Cooler Master laptop in the future
the desk thingy should be integrated into the seat arm wrest imo.
at this pricepoint it needs to be effortless.
I appreciate Jake's thorough reviews. He comes across as a bit of a goof at times but he actually talks about realistic problems and is very detailed. Such as the power entry location and how it may be a problem, probably have to run your own cabling etc. ✌️
as long as they add more receivers for the remote it'll be fine, also it better get improved power delivery everywhere there isn't inferior mains voltage
LTT should try building one like this on your own. Should be a fun project.
Imagine coming back to your office work as a insurance salesman and seeing that everyone has a glowing RGB egg instead of a desk
I have one of those chairs and it is pretty awesome. Well, not the chair exactly but the pc inside it. Actually, to be more specific, I have that pc case with none of those parts inside that I got on sale for $50 and random office chair. Basically the same thing though.
I have a feeling that any benefits of the remote to the chair is lost below the risk of it getting misplaced. Realistically you will be sitting in the chair when you need it anyway so why not adding the extra buttons on the chair or use a usb remote that you can mount to the desk if you want
The Acer Predator Thronos was the chair that Jake referenced. That chair also tilted you back to a more or less lying position. There were more chairs like that on the market. They were called scorpion chairs. The benefit would be a more relaxed position and less muscle fatigue. As I never was in the position to try it and definitely not in the position to buy one, I don't know if that promise was kept. I am not really sold on the sound part of this chair. I would have thought that the sound would be better. I don't mind a bit of RGB, but is al that RGB around you not very distracting? I saw some of the RGB reflected in the monitor and I would probably be permanently distracted by it.
All it needs is mesh on each side and you have an RGB wagecage.
That ShortLinus ad is really fun !
This looks pretty cool. For that price tag, though, I would just build a steel/chromoly skeleton and sculpt a fiberglass shell around it for aesthetics. The lifting top is mechanically simple and the chair you could rip off of a car. The controls can be handled by an RPi/Arduino, and programmable rf remotes are cheap(or use an old phone w/ ir blaster).
For that price it should be able to simulate certain movements for racing games, flight simulator etc.
I love it but the price is crazy, If you know how to weld you could build one with metal pipe and pick out your favorite Lazyboy and build around it. Find a company that has a pipe bender and have them make half moon bends for you and it would still be cheaper and have a cool industrial look to it. You could make some quick release sections to break it down to build it in a room.
I could see myself tuning the rgb for the right ambience and playing elite dangerous for hours in one of these bad boys
For $15,000 that is a huge asking price especially considering you could get a motorized sit/stand desk starting at $300 and going up from there. If they would have said $1,500-$2,000, that is still a lot, but its more reasonable than what they are currently asking.
Also I am not sure if LMG didnt cover much at CES or does it seem like there really wasnt much this year?
This is the kind of thing people need because they won’t always have the right chair to go with the right desk that goes well with their monitor height to give them the proper space to help them focus on their work. I’m convinced this would make me work much more effectively.
God no. Next time you sit down for a long work/game session, count how many times you get up to grab a drink, go to the bathroom, or just to stretch your legs a little. Now imagine every time you wanna do that, you gotta move a big ol clunky desk and try not to hit your head on the monitor. It's like putting seatbelts on your office chair, but worse.
As a kid I dreamed of something like this. Except more mobile. Like you could drive it and stuff
he really tried to pretend like that wobbly ass desk wasn't a big deal lmaoo
I paid that for my brand new car 4 years ago, for that I'm totally immersed, and I can go anywhere with it. For this kinda money I'd expect it comes with a build in full body massage chair, and a monitor that doesn't dangle as you move, and a table that doesn't wobble quite as much. Honestly - I don't want it.
"I'll giver" is the most Canadian thing ive heard in a hot minute. I love it.
So... what is the advantage over a usual desk?
The fact that i can't move my chair is a big disadvantage. What do I gain for it in return?
That DBrand segment is just *chef's kiss*
This is the desk equivalent of those futuristic transportation concepts that inevitably are just trains, but won't admit they're trains.
"Grandma's boy" did it in 2006 and I've been trying to remember what that movie's name for years!
Cooler Master will likely be sending one to LTG for the game/break room. It will make MANY appearances in the future I am sure.
I bet Jake gets his wish!
Why? Why is the leg support too short? Why doesn't it have true digital surround sound?
Why doesn't it allow 2 50" or two Large TV PC monitors or a single 60" max? Why doesn't the desk lock in place? Why isn't there an articulating desktop to lay back and game? $15,000 for a box that's not well planned out? PC is NOT included? That's such complete BS. It should come with a PC standard setup with high end parts minus games and GPU, small tablet monitor to adjust air and link to camera monitoring outside the jedi box.. for $15,000.. the price of a small car today and it goes nowhere? It's uncomfortable and you better bring your phone on the first date because your kids college money wasn't enough to include the PC. Personally, in its current state a ripoff. It's a giant cooler master midrange PC case. That's $15k for a case you can sit in while playing a game. After you buy that game of course.
The RGB reflecting off the monitor would bug the crap out of me.
DBrand Street Tech Tips is my new favorite series
Having to point the remote directly at the buttons? Super useful…😂
I'd love to see you folks try and build something like this and see how cheaply you can do it while still being legit.
The amount of floor space that thing takes up, I would need a custom room added onto the house just to own one.
I believe this would be focused towards the internet/gaming cafes in some countries. Rent by the hour type places.
let's say you want to use it for sim racing. Can it do that as well? I mean although that desk maybe good for working i don't think when you attach a wheel to it it will remain in it's place? It looks cool but think you're better of buying a used predator seat.
i have to say i love these kinds adds from dbrand, these kinds of adds are the only ones i remember
I love how Canadian the guy receiving tech tips sounded
shuttle dome needs to be taller to accommodate larger screens.
Yeah, I still want one too lolol
How to make chairs expensive 101. **monitor wiggles around with every movement** **pc in back wiggles around with every movement**
I N N O V A T I O N
I absolutely love Riley. He's like sunshine.
I like that Jake brought up the Acer model from a few years ago. Because I was getting massive dejavu from this.
would you be stuck if the power goes out ? will take flexibility to get out of.
For that price, you shouldn't have to point the remote at the receiver to have it get a signal.
Also the speakers should be a top notch sound system for that price too.
Cheers.
5:28 only in Canada could you walk up with an unsolicited tech tip and have the response be "give 'er"
I'm surprised they didn't get a good speaker brand like Genelec to do the 2.1 audio at that price point.
Dbrand always coming in clutch 🤣👌
That sounds system is cool. Can imagine playing tanks in War Thudner would be awesome. But the whole thing is very expensive.
A truly integrated solution would not have a separate case, it would have all the mother board standoffs, power supply mounts, sata drive mounts, and case fans built in
If these things weren't so expensive, I would already have one. A spinal injury left me disabled, and sitting at a desk isn't an option for me. I'm limited to laying in bed and gaming with a controller on a large screen. Something like this would make it comfortable enough to use mkb and a monitor. I tried adapting a stationary Sim rig, but would need something that pivots backwards into a 'zero-g' configuration
This looks very futuristic! My guess it's that the next version will have the part with the keyboard open differently, like a lamborghini version🤣🤣🤣 it would be really funny. TBH I don't know exactly what I have in mind but I think there's still room for improvement, in respect to the price $ the overall project 🤷
For additional context, the chair costs LTT Intel Upgrade Challenge for good for three people
Probably not going to be able to use it for a air/space sim game as mounted joysticks with a lock would be a nightmare.
The only thing I dislike about such chairs is that how wobbly the desk feels like.
Does it come with metal legs? It's a risky operation but it'll be worth it.
wait, the fans are sucking 'heat' from the bottom? Isn't that where the coldest air is? How about sucking air in from the bottom and venting it through the top (there is a vent a the top..)
Take 4 of these, face them all towards each other and add a 2nd, smaller, mirrored monitor to the back of the 1st so you can peer around your main monitor to see what your family/friends are doing and communicate better, and BAM, ultimate small group LAN setup.
Guess I'd better get a 2nd job... and a 3rd.
Wouldn't it be a problem routing a DisplayPort cable for over 3 meters through that thing? Afaik they're very prone to disconnects when using a too long cable.
6:43 A lot of desks at offices have wireless chargers built in
I'm 39 seconds in bro... all I think of when he said "perfect and enhance the computer-user experience" was the end of Wall-E, @ the chair. 😅
Id pay 15k for it if it had: a mercedes s class level seat ( heated, cooled massaging ultra comfortable adjustable), atleast 5.1 surround, a temp controlled cup holder, and a quality top. For the love of! How hard is it to implement a simple hinge and latch? A simple steel round bar with a replaceable bronze bush and a steel socket on the underside would do great. As for the latch a simple pin and catch like a fifth wheel with a squeeze release. Good product start but needs refinement.
What is that triple odysy setup in the left of Jake!!!??? 180° degree monitor setup!??
