- I waited this film for decades... I cant say, that I'm satisfied. Can't say I'm dissapointed. It was a good show, but I was expecting a bit more, after so many years of waiting. But I'm glad that they made the movie. And I'm waiting for the next one!

All the orc scenes are gold in this movie. It's feel more real than any of the human acting.
Agree
Yep the humans were meh , no real development idek the games or have played but loved the orcs
Agreed, they should have done CGI for the humans instead of real actors, not only were the orcs just better done then the human acting, but the humans looked out of place besides the orcs in a lot of different ways. Now that's not to say the actors are bad from the movie, they just didn't portray the humans from warcraft in the right way.

Ain't that the truth...
Every orc scene was an absolute banger - all of them, but the human scenes...
My jaw dropped down when Guldan took off his cape. I wasn’t expecting such an athletic beast instead of an old sorcerer orc.
He may be old and such, but he is still an orc, but I was just surprised as you.
Ok
Well actually canonically Gul Dan was pretty weak without schemes. He died alone easily when his followers left hin

I agree also this scene was amazing. So i ask why was this movie such a flop?
@@siriusblack7714 A lot of people didn't like the human side of the story, and a Warcraft movie just doesn't attract a lot of audiences. I thought it was alright
@@siriusblack7714two reasons:
1) Americans and people in the west, generally view anything that appears similar to lord of the rings as a rip-off.
2) the Warcraft movie was not properly advertised and executed properly.
Even if the second problem was fixed, I don’t see how people in the west could’ve helped pulled the movie to earn a sequel. It would all have to be thanks to people from China and other countries (problem 1 stays intact).
Durotan is one of those characters that deserves a way better movie.
This fight was badass. Two massive hunks of muscle going at it. The snarling and weight of the hits made it feel so brutal.
Durotan's opneing punch always make me whince, it feels hard as fuck.
I let one destroy my tender perky cheeks 🥒💦
I like that Gul'Dan actually does the first drain on accident
He's like "SHIT I DIDNT MEAN TO DO THAT", but then when he needes to end the Mak'Gora to go on with the portal plan he's like "whatever lets finish this"
Same! I love his character, of course he is the bad guy but still - what a scene!
The second drain is kind of confusing because durotan got the last hit on him, but for some reason he looked like he just got hit a bunch of times, and doesn't try to hit guldan before the next soul drain like he did before. It also ruins the tension as it doesn't even look like guldan needs to use magic to finish him (though it might've been quicker).
It was supposed to be a melee 1v1 beatdown, so using magic is cheating.
Kinda like everybody was shitting on Thrall for using shaman magic vs Garrosh, even though Thrall is a healthy physically fit Orc compared to relatively frail Gul'dan who had to compensate his physical weakness with brains, in a society which always had a more Spartan approach to things (you are not physically strong, you are deemed useless).
Now Gul'dan was juiced by fel, which probably fixed most of deformities (and gave the cool looking but probably inconvienient when sleeping spikes). But he never led a life of warrior, so it's obvious he was still pretty "green" (sorry for pun) at warrior style beatdowns. And it shows.
Gul'dan must control his fel absorption, otherwise he would grow so poweful, that he would pop like a baloon.
Wasn't an accident, just tried to do it subtlety so everyone else wouldn't notice. Durotan and Orgrim knew he would cheat, was just a matter of getting him to show all the Orcs that he wasn't honorable.
I love how Gul'dan goes from cripple to thai box champion in about 0.1 seconds
He's still an Orc, no matter how you look at it. And he's juiced up on the Fel, which puts the best Steroids to shame.
he was frail and that's why he ended up finding the power of the fel instead of becoming a warrior
He's not really that good of a fighter if you had actually seen the clip
Well... If he wins the fight with wizardy or magic I can't say he's a good Orc. And with 'good orc' I mean a warrior
@Figura Sombría he was deformed only in harbingers. There were many versions of his history in Warcraft, wow, novels.

This movie was underrated tbh. It's basically a 2 hr long cinematic.
I actually like the movie.....i never knew about WOW before but i wish there was a second movie....
I don't get why all the hate....maybe because it's mostly from people who have played the games and know the lore...
For me i just enjoy watching it like that and even many of my friends who don't know WOW like it....
I was never really into Warcraft until I saw this movie. Then I got Warcraft 3 and loved it (yes, even the reforged version, despite its flaws.).
Yeah but one of the few details I don’t like about this movie is how human soldiers can kill Orcs like they kill other humans, like one swing to cut a giant Orc head clean off like chopping off cabbage, that’s almost as BS as Lord of Rings movies. I know it’s all fiction but to make it more convincing an Orc that big and strong should be able to beat at least 5 human soldiers at the same time except human heroes.
@@LeBrow420 its not about how big something is. in fantasy worlds tiny creatures can have huge power. maybe the human knights have had some magical training. everything is possible.
All the cinematic like this and people saying “ omg make a movie like this, then they did and everyone complained”

Damn man, considering this is basically a cartoon, that got me in the feelies.
Marc Rover Wait. Is the “basically a cartoon part” detrimental or just a note?
@@thomastakesatollforthedark2231 Well, cartoons have a tendency to detach the viewer, emotionally, more than their counterparts.
Loses a little luster when all the orcs give in to Gul'dan in the end. It's too bad the orcs have no honor in reality, they've just grown big enough to talk about it, with the occasional orc demonstrating it, but rarely.
Loboling Charles Orcs are not real wht do u mean in reality?
@@unknownmasksw2serialirious580 In context, it means that within the confines of the Warcraft universe or concept, that the orcs make great claims towards honor. It is a recurring theme. However, in the context of this Warcraft universe, when comparing the orally transmitted ideology of the orcs, with the direct evidence (real) presented in this Warcraft universe, it shows great hypocrisy.
So when discussing 'in universe' fiction, it sometimes is easier to just say: "in reality", than to explain your discussing 'in universe' facts vs the narrative presented facts. I guess its one of the million ways the English language can be confusing.
If I had said: the orcs speak of honor, but in reality they don't exist, it would be obvious my meaning.
But if instead I say: The orcs speak of honor, but truly they have none. Then it means I'm presenting a point to be discussed within the universe of the fiction.
If your question was genuine, hope that helped. If not, thanks for wasting 48 seconds of my time. ;P
2:14 if you pay VERY close attention to Gul'dan's facial expressions you can actually see that he didn't do the first life drain on purpose, it just became kind of a reflex for him to do it after having abused fel magic for so long!! try slowing the footage down!
3:15 even more amazingly, Gul'dan actually seems ready to spare Durotan's life at this point as he is being called out for cheating, he only kills Durotan after Durotan specifically provokes him to do so. Durotan was baiting Gul'dan to kill him in order to show all the orcs what a monster Gul'dan truly is, and Gul'dan took the bait hook, line and sinker.
he used it from reflex then instantly regreted it because he realized someone saw him

@@unknownchannel3141 definitely war robots
It's like Sylvanas vs the Lich King in the new trailer, same shit
I think my favorite part of this fight is that when the orcs call Gul’dan a cheater… he’s visibly ashamed of it.
As we see a minute later, he probably has little to no actual fear of losing control of the army over this breach in protocol; but for however detached he has become from his culture, there’s still a part of him that hates that he couldn’t win that fight fair and square.
And when Durotan tells him he has no honor, he snaps and kills him (in that same “cheater” way no less), instead of leaving him drained and beaten like he seemed to be planning to.
From there he was in a bad enough mood to kill anyone who defied him, but what stood out to me is that he bestowed the Fel on Blackhand without the permission that he had ostensibly waited for up to this point. Which, in addition to being one of my favorite line deliveries by Daniel Wu, perfectly encapsulates how Gul’dan’s influence and his new brand of “power” is corrupting the very culture of the orcs.
He has an objective and he’s going to achieve it, even when it costs him the respect of his people, and his respect for himself.
This movie’s far from perfect, but it has a lot better writing than people give it credit for (the orc parts anyway lol)
Anyway, I guess this has been my ‘One Villainous Scene’ contribution, thanks for reading lol
"Guldan!...... You have no honour!"
Thats a great way to sum it up, despite all its flaws, I love this movie.
Another detail is that, judging from his facial reaction, that first Life Drain was done on accident and even stopped fighting after doing so because it was a mistake. Gul'Dan wanted to win fair and square and it's only when he lost his temper from the heckling when he went further.
That's why Gul'dan was ruling as a power behind the throne with his Shadow Council, while Blackhand was the official Warchief.
Orcs with their Spartan mindset wouldn't follow physically inferior (relatively, compared to them at least) and deformed Gul'dan.
Blackhand was exactly the person needed to unify clans as one force. Later Doomhammer also proved able for the job, but he never trusted Gul'dan so it was difficult to manipulate him, but Gul'dan weaseled his way out of violent demise by offering Doomhammer death knights to equal the playing field against mages of the Alliance.
He helped the orc Baby be alive again but at a price draining another animal
In all seriousness, imagine getting punched by one of these dudes. You gotta have at least 7 balls to challenge them without pissing your pants.
bro they legit have built in steroids into their bodies
Don’t forget the women as well
Far worse than that, considering that they'd look like they'd crush your skull ala Gregor Clegane. Hell, even an orc had easily snapped a human's neck like a twig, so I'd imagine what happens if they got their skulls smashed into their chests.
Orcs are naturally multiple times bigger and stronger than humans
Their hands can crack your head(Skull) like an egg
Doesnt an orc throw a horse in this movie? Haha awesome shit

The only consolation is, Gul'dan was torn to fuckin' shreads by Demons when he opened the tomb of Sargeras, so he got his.

TheSusano27 even tho he uses the fel magic, He wouldn't have a Chance against all of them , or would he?
TheFlashBreaker all of them are fel orcs, he basically gets power back when he drains them, even more than when he drains normal orcs. They will be reduced to ashes like the 3 fel orcs. The ones with any chanced could possibly be the normal orcs around there, but then we get into the ofensive spells a warlock has, and seeing that this is gul dan we are talking about... Yeah, that wont end well. The powers he has are from sargeras himself and in the lore his skull alone gave ilidan a tremendous boost. Same ilidan who blasted a naaru to shreds with that fel eye laser thingy. Magic in the wow universe (lorewise) is no joke. Especially fel and arcane

Oh my summer child
Attentive viewers have noticed Gul'dan expressed shock after first using his magic, indicating he used it on a reflex without meaning to and was frightened about the orcs seeing him for the cheater he is after he previously derided Black Hand for retreating, saying it wasn't the orc way.
Something else I feel is worth pointing out is that Gul'dan killed the three orcs who tried to leave much faster than he did Durotan. He was intentionally prolonging Durotan's death out of spite for his defiance. He of course played in Durotan's hands since Gul'dan showing his cruelty meant the only hold he had over the Horde was through fear.
Appreciated bruv.
I've always thought that, aside the cinematographic reasons, Gul'dan was able to drain the soul of these three orcs much faster was because he controlled them through the fel.
I know Doomhammer's speech wasn't much but the moment he says "demon" is a nice touch for future development that will never come. One could even call it foreshadowing.
This movie deserves more recognition, I loved it.
💯 Underrated story
Agreed and the orca are amazing
@Eggchin no it wasn't. It's glorious eye-candy!
I would’ve loved it, but it’s just not accurate to the lore. I know it’s just a movie, but this was made for the fans of WoW, who all know Durotan never openly fought Gul’dan, and Blackhand, as well as the other orcs, weren’t forced to drink/be afflicted with demons blood. They chose willingly.
@@shunsha8606 Just think of it as a movie inspired by the lore and not a direct adaptation, I think that’s what it was made to be anyways.

facts. a shame that campfire scene was deleted, it added so much to blackhand and how he feels during this fight, where he realizes that gul'dan is exactly what he hates, an orc who is nothing without his magic
Thrall: *pretends nothing happened*
Blah-blah-blah... bullshit.
Rules of mak'gora are determined by its participants, and if no one said "no magic", like here, then Gul'dan won fairly. Moreover, out of all mak'goras depicted in lore (5 or 6 of them) *only* Garrosh vs Cairne strictly stated that only weapons are allowed (not that they were capable of magic to begin with), the rest had their magic users cast freely in addition to their melee.
Yet another time Blizzard fucked themselves over with continuity errors.
@@ВладиславШаклеин-ч7м They did not fuck up with continuity errors, the movie maker just thought that nobody knew/would care about the canon rules of mak'gora. That way, it helps the plot of the movie. But you are right : magic is allowed if nobody says otherwise, and nobody said anything about it.
And, last thing : Gul'dan took some blows, but let's face it, even in melee he just bodied Durotan. Like, hard. Durotan was on the ground even before G used fel magic. And he ONLY did this to end the fight faster because of the portal. In short : Gul'dan is a freaking beast, like it or not.

IDGAF about anyone that hated this movie. I personally enjoyed it.
i watched it yesterday it wasn't bad
The problem is that it wasn't accessible at all to anyone who wasn't a hardcore fan of Warcraft. There was no real introduction to the world or how it works, and the audience didn't have much to latch onto. The movie has a lot for Warcraft fans to appreciate, but it doesn't have anything for anyone else. Which is a shame.
Plus the human parts were mediocre
@@uknownada I would argue that the movie was worse for Hardcore fans than it was for casual fans and new people. Mainly due to the awful departure of lore from the source material in making the movie, enraging a lot of lore nerds who wanted to see their favourite story come to life, instead of another alternate time line (There's even 2 books that describes alternate events that led to the movie) of the Warcraft universe again.
Like, we loved that our favourite franchise got a movie this well made, but we also hated it for removing too far from the source material, and not properly explaining what needed to be introduced to understand the Warcraft universe.
Also, we were supposed to see Medivh's *UPSIDE DOWN KARAZHAN* in this movie, the place would've been seen as a twisted reflection of the noble guardian, filled with all manners of horrible creatures and demons for Lothar, Khadgar, Garona and a contingent of Stormwind's knights to battle in a classic dungeon run.
This event was also really crucial as it showed how Medivh died, and why Khadgar became an old man.
I was actually quite surprised how strong Gul'dan was. He may have been old and a Warlock but he still knew how to throw hands. He was up against Durotan though so he couldn't win without using Fel magic. If it were any other ordinary orc I'm certain he would have floored them.

It's been a while since I saw this, but my impression was that no-one challenged Gul'dan because he was too powerful; yet everyone must have known that his power was useless in a fist-fight challenge without being accused of cheating, and when he DID cheat everyone was surprised, knowing that it was/should have been the death knell for his reputation.
That was Durotans plan, IIRC, Doomhammer tried to tell him that it was certain death, which it was, but Durotan sacrificed himself for the horde.
Keep in mind, this movie is not canon to the lore.

I personally enjoyed this movie.I never understood why people complained about it.The actors were good, the CGI too.
Instead of being a hardcore Warcraft lore fan, watch this as a movie inspired by the lore.
This movie did what it was supposed to do,giving just the basic explaination about whats happening and setting up for the sequels where everything will be explained in detail.
P.S-Its funny that people disliked a good movie such as this, yet call a disappointing movie like Avengers:Endgame great.
Indeed. Endgame was a disappointment.
This movie has bad human acting. If we delete all human scene except the final battle, it can be great movie

Maeivs prison.
Considering Illidan got his powers and demon shape from Gul'dans skull, I doubt Illidan would be anywhere near powerful enough to defeat Gul'dan without it.
When Illidan kills Draenor Gul'dan in legion, he is already juiced up on the original Gul'dans power. And that's after Draenor Gul'dan was already weakened by having literally fought an entire army of champions with superpowered and legendary artifacts
