Got caught ran away from testing 3 times due to unprofessional behaviour and nights on it let’s keep it real guys if anything he was lucky that Ferguson stood by him and I’m glad he did as Rio was a great player for Man United.
@@Dan-mm1yl hahahahaha, you sap. Only a real loser can't admit when he's been proven wrong. I have educated you and you can't accept you were wrong about your lack of knowledge on how cocaine can be identified in the body. Why don't you just say thank you and be on your way. xxx
It is easy to miss one drugs test. Chris Froome, Tour de France winner, missed one because he was staying at an Italian hotel on holiday. He had informed the testers, as standard. However, the hotel staff refused to give the testers access to guest rooms, and wouldn't call up to the room because it was 7am. Froome only knew about it during breakfast when staff told him the testers were there but hotel policy was to not disturb guests. Totally innocent situation. Kelly Sotherton, UK heptathlon, missed a test because she left a training session 10 minutes early. Again, totally innocent. Now, I don't know about footballers, but I'm sure they have to miss THREE CONSECUTIVE tests to get a ban. If true, how can a professional like Rio let that happen ??!?!?!?!! He was at Man Utd at the time; you would think the club would do everything in their power to ensure Rio was available, I don't know, get a staff member to be on 24 hour alert to tell Rio he HAS to be at certain locations, just in case the testers show up, and shadow him until he was in the clear. I would have placed a bodyguard on him 24/7. Also, these testers usually show up at a club's training ground, and after games. This means the footballers would normally be there for training/a game anyway. Are you trying to convince people that a professional footballer like Rio accidentally missed three tests?
Leaving a training session early isn’t innocent. It’s stupidity. Athletes have to tell people where they are. Sotherton is also a professional and shouldn’t have let it happen.
I doubt he missed the test because it would have been positive (they're easy to outwit) but anyone who thinks doping isn't widespread in football is living in a fantasy land.
@Paul Blackman the amount of comments you’ve left just shows ur obsessed. And like he said in this video, he proved that he wasn’t on any drugs, he was banned for missing a drugs test, not failing it
@Paul Blackman like I’ve said, Rio didn’t fail the test, he just missed the time for it. And they’re sweating cos they’ve been working their bodies hard for 90+ minutes, and if u can’t understand that then ur just stupid
@Paul Blackman did a runner?😂😂 and if you don’t think that you can sweat when you work hard for a long period of time then you’ve clearly never played a sport like football. Idk what u have against Rio and football players but it’s just weird😂
@Paul Blackman u actually chat so much shit mate😂 ‘be prepared to fail’ if ur not willing to take drugs😂😂 athletes have regular drug tests that are both random and scheduled so how could they all be on drugs?
Lol people in the comment section grilling Rio should look into what Pep has done. Caught for doping as a player in Italy in 2001 (wasn’t proven clean they just let the case drag on). Then hired the same doctor from Italy to Barcelona, and was Caught for doping as Barcelona manager (instructing his players Xavi Iniesta etc. to take special doses). Caught for breaching doping regulations as City boss in 2017 but that was swept under the rug too. Even the doctor at Bayern called out Pep saying something was fishy because Pep would interfere with his work too much
Highly ironic the show is called ‘High Performance’! This snippet doesn’t explain jack****! Either he was on PEDs (most athletes are…I know people who juice for Sunday five-a-side) or he like Tyson Fury was on the ol’ Tony Montana. I could care less since he proved himself as a player, but let’s have the truth rather than this subterfuge!
Didn't Ferguson get quoted to the effecf of saying that Rio's a 'Great player but a casual sod'? Rio got caught sliiiiiiping with that drugs test man! 😂 That behaviour may be partially why Keano aired him out in those manutdtv interviews that got deleted. A supremely talented defender who's only weakness was falling asleep on job from time to time 😭😂😂
Cantona ? Lol. By the way I found that incident hilarious but come on , if some random guy does that in the street they could possibly get jail time lol , the fa banning him was definitely not wrong
Behave they do it to any teams proves United had more dirty players taking drugs than any other club in England nowt to be proud of they took drugs not the f.a
Because it wasn’t a performance enhancing drug.. but what Rio did is like when you get arrested for suspicion of drink driven and refuse to produce a sample you can get a longer ban than if you were over the limit by simply refusing

You don't get a 8 month ban for missing one test; you would have to miss multiple consecutive tests. How could a professional like Rio or a massive club like Man Utd let that happen??? I agree, something doesn't add up.

Kept missing drug tests. By some accounts kept cheating on his now deceased wife. All in all a top bloke.
And during, or shortly after, his lovely 8 month paid holiday, he sets his agent about getting him a new improved contract.

What a lovely comment made with no evidence whatsoever. Go and have a long hard look at yourself.
I read Fergie's statement in his autobiography about the ban. The tests were rescheduled by the tester and informed so late about the new schedule

Don't believe a word that comes out this guys mouth .. neither does Roy keane

Rio was down in Bournemouth with Mark Redknapp doing bugle the weekend before, but obviously that’s just a rumour.
It was unfair at the time because another player with the same case was given much shorter ban. I think it was City player.

According to my lecturer whose a solicitor for him he was smoking weed to deal with injuries and trauma and that’s why he missed the tests.
