  • Fusion 360 is a 3D modelling software which is presented by Autodesk, a brand that is well known for their famous products such as AutoCAD, Autodesk MAYA, Autodesk Inventor etc., Fusion 360 is a cloud based CAD tool which can handle tasks such as CAD, CAM & simulation. The area where Fusion 360 excels is at, ‘Rapid prototyping’. Whereas it’s other components are also no less than the industry standard.
Fusion 360 utilizes its cloud based operation, which makes it possible for several users to work on a single project, it also makes the software work light on the user’s system. Fusion 360 grants free access for students and hobbyists who use Fusion 360 for non-commercial uses.
In this particular video, we use Fusion 360 to create a 3D model of Lathe tailstock. A Lathe tailstock is a part of lathe which houses the rear spindle, and is used to support the end of a component or to act as a tool post for drilling operations. The tailstock is fixed in the Lathe bed in a way that upon loosening of a nut, the tailstock can be moved freely along the bedway. The tailstock also has an adjustment option which is used to move the spindle back or forth.
