Thank you, Kathryn, for your thoughtful commentary as you walk us through Judith's extraordinary show. Your soothing voice combined with such inspiring quilts means I'll be returning again and again to enjoy this virtual tour!
Oh my! Thank you so much Kathryn for documenting Judith’s show. I know I’ll watch it again and again. The textures, colors, and stories so inspiring.♥♥♥xo
OMGOODNESS what stunning work, I just loved the last piece it was stunning. Thank you so much for sharing this Kathryn and thank you Judy for letting us see your beautiful work ❤
Thank you, thank you for sharing this absolutely stunning work by Judy Martin. It blew my mind! Beautiful.....and the titles.... inspirational. Thank you once again.
Absolutely floored. I may have to watch it over and over just to experience them again. Her pieces feel endless to me, even though they have an ending. I'm just... wow.
So beautiful. I was very excited to view these amazing pieces of art. Judy used to live in my town (Kenora) years ago. She was known for her lovely watercolours then. I worked with her husband, Ned, the City accountant.😀 I’ve seen glimpses of her work over the years but nothing like this wonderful display. Her work is so lovely, so many lovely stitches. Thank you Kathryn for sharing this!
That's great Beeja, Ned was very helpful and friendly when I first arrived and Judy wasn't there. I asked if he stitched and he said he can sew on a button 😁❤️
Wow thank for sharing Judy’s stunning work. Living on the other side of the world would never see this work otherwise. Thanks for everything you share with us all.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful exhibition with us, so good of you. Judith is an amzing artist, loved every one of these gorgeous pieces and that she is a fellow Canadian!
Many thanks for sharing Judith's very inspiring work, Kathryn. I've just begun to stitch and quilt and can only imagine creating something so beautiful.
Wow! I've never been so overwhelmed an exhibition. I was constantly gasping for breath! So so beautiful! Thankyou from Australia for the opportunity to learn about Judy and her magnificent work. Jennifer
They’re all absolutely magnificent and so moving. It’s difficult to pick a favourite, but the first one touched me deeply, because of the story behind it. It reminded me of myself surviving breast cancer and it reminded of my mother’s passing 💔 Thank you so much for sharing this so inspiring work, I wish I could see it in person 🩷🩵❤️💙🧡💜💛🖤💚🤎♥️
Wonderous. A spiritual quality to the work, speech less so much to say. Thank you for introducing, aiding in understanding a world that I did not know exist. 🤩
Thank you so much to you and Judy for allowing us to experience her beautiful work. These are all so lovely; each one exuding a quiet energy of its own. I would have loved to see the other side of some of the wall mounted pieces. The amount of work she has put into these enormous hand stitched quilts is mind boggling. What a joy it must have been to see them in person. I can imagine the level of restraint you had to maintain to not reach out and feel the texture of the stitches and the cloth.
Stunning …just stunning! So much is possible if you “seek out what magnifies your spirit” to quote Judith. I looked at her website and it’s extraordinary. Scrolling through her body of work made my heart sing. Thank you Kathryn for showcasing Judith’s exhibition. 💜 Cath
Thank you so much for taking us on a tour of this lovelyness. They are all beautiful. I come from a world where everyone thinks seams should match and points should be pointy. I do not fit in that world. Love love love these works of art.
Thanks so much! I've been lucky to see Judy's work in person and believe that to really appreciate her awe-inspiring work, it must be seen in person ,so I'm thrilled that so many people had the opportunity to bear witness at the FOQ
Oh, thank you Judy, thank you Katherine, for sharing this wonderful exhibition. Such insightful, inspirational art. So appreciate that you filmed it, otherwise inaccessible to me so far away in Australia.🙏 Rose
This was awesome to see. Thank you for taking the time to video and read Judy’s descriptions. So love to hear the clothtale. My favorite is “Tomorrow is another day”
Hiya K3n 😊❤, Absolutely beautiful, precious, and definitely inspirational. As ever, you're most kind in sharing your eventing in such detail with us.Many thanks, Julia. (Brisbane, Australia ❤ 🇦🇺 😀 🪃)
Wow. Such gorgeous pieces. I have to say Holy Holy really grabbed me and held on. Not sure why, perhaps the colours ( I do love my brights!) Thank you both for sharing this with us.
Hello k3n. I am amazed at all you are teaching. I have been quilting for 45 years I'm giving away my age. LOL I have worked on all the techniques you have taught. I love this slow stitching. I have arthritis so I have slowed down quite a bit and waiting for surgery. Judy Marti is a Canadian treasure. Her quilting is amazing. Thank you for all you do. I look forward to your videos. Be safe and take care. Mary Suzanne from British Columbia Canada
oh Kathryn thank you so much for filming Judy's show for us!! her work is simply awesome. it is so beautiful it has brought tears to my eyes. i loved seeing her working from both sides. i'm just finishing this week's project where we are working from each side of the cloth. oh my gosh what a treat to see this show! thank you so much for taking the time to film this for us. i'm going to watch this over and over when i need inspiration but also when i need to be reminded that there is so much beauty in this world and so many beautiful hearted people. appreciatively, linda from California
What a wonderful start to my day. I have been looking forward to this video and it was well worth the wait. I know I'll look again. Thank you for a lovely virtual visit to the heartwarming and inspirational collection by Judy Martin. And thank you for creating this very special community.
So inspiring! Thank you for taking the time to share with us! My favorite piece ( though all of them were stunning) was Sacred Ground. I just loved the muted colors and couched threads.
Thank you!!! Since you introduced us to her, I’ve been watching interviews and it was fun to “see” these pieces on video rather than pics. Stunning!! ❤❤❤
Thank you Kathryn. This was such an inspirational tour of beautiful quilts. Your gentle commentary helped me look and understand. I sometimes find this hard when I am in a busy exhibition. You have a wonderful way of bringing arts and crafts to the masses. Do not underestimate your skill at this 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing Judy Martin’s show with us. Incredible work! I love the quilt titled Love the Soul Inside of Me best, not because of its appearance (though I love that too) but because I know the time and effort hand stitching all those little squares together took, to say nothing of quilting the whole. Her dedication to her process and her art are nothing short of amazing.
Fabulous work! It’s interesting that her quilt books are much more vibrant but I love the mute, natural colours she uses. I live in Vancouver and this is the first time I’ve experienced her work.
Hello, I am sorry I misspoke when I said she lives in Vancouver, it's actually Ontario 🤭 I don't think this Judy Martin has written any books, it's possible you are thinking of another Judy Martin who specialises in log cabin quilts? The potential confusion is why this Judy goes by Judith E Martin when she exhibits 😁♥️
Thoroughly enjoyed your video! I had seen some of Judy's work on line, but to see it on display with a description of each piece was wonderful! I guess large works of art are possible!!
Such incredible work! I love her use of texture, color, form, and shape, the pieces are so dimensional in many ways. it's so inspiring and carries so much meaning and emotion. thank you so much, K3n, for filming and narrating!
I love this work. It is free, nonplussed yet, it comes together and has immense feeling. I dont know yet...I'm very much still learning...yearning.. how she creates the smaller pieces and they come together in a large creation. At what point does she know what's going to happen. See me, the over thinker. Katherine, thank you for showing, sharing with us. Marvelous work.
I don't think she knows until the end, and sometimes thinks it's the end and it isn't. She told me that Starry Starry, Holy Holy was exhibited because she thought it was done but when it came home to her, she realised it needed more. For myself, I never consider my large cloths finished because I might always add more. 😊♥️
That was a lovely look at those amazing quilts. I hadn't heard of Judy Martin before... My favourite ( although they are all gorgeous) are Yin Yin and Your Fragile Life. Very inspiring indeed!
So beautiful and inspiritional. Does anyone else feel that one lifetime is not enough to explore and learn all the things we would like to do and experience? Just wondering. 🤔🤔 Thank you for the lovely tour. Gorgeous work. 💖🧵🪡
OMG, Katherine, that was beautifully narratived. I could not pick just one quilt as my favorite. If it had brown, beige cream in it I loved it. And Judy's added information just hit my soul and heart. Judy is masterful in her work.🤎🤍
Thank you, Kathryn, for your thoughtful commentary as you walk us through Judith's extraordinary show. Your soothing voice combined with such inspiring quilts means I'll be returning again and again to enjoy this virtual tour!

I think there might be photos of some of the reverse sides on her blog ♥️
Thank you Kathryn! That was beautiful!!! Loved every minute!!
