I'm so excited to share my new samurai betta with you finally! It feels like he's been a part of the family for so long now. What would you name him? Also, what do you think of his setup? Let me know, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
Absolutely love your blackwater tanks. You really are so talented, and have such an eye for nature. Love this setup, and what a handsome betta. Take care
'Heilong' means Black water dragon/serpent living in dark waters. This is an over the top Sick Tank!!! You must've had a great time building planning and building, especially w/that piece of woods waiting 6 yrs for this tank. That is One Blessed Betta!!!
You bring the aquarium to be more of an aquarium. An etherical beeing like this special bettafish - in your scaping - becomes something of poetry or art. I guess it's kind of how I (non Japanese) am able to understand Japanese gardens and painting and higher ideals... but with a big part of the magical mystery of earth and nature. And just magic. Old magic. I just love it, thank you for showing this, it feeds my soul.
Wow. This is truly art. This video genuinely inspired me to do my betta research, and I will soon be giving my Veiltail a planted home that resembles nature rather than plastic!
I know you mean well, but calling someone gifted at something will mostly be taken as an insult since "gifted" people are merely people that worked their butts off at something for hundreds of thousands of hours. Calling it a gift is like saying that they don't deserve the results displayed. Saying "Blessed" would be worse haha
Your work is amazing and inspiring!! Thank you for sharing 💕. Because of you I built a small terrarium (very first and only one so far) but it is still doing very well and has lasted all winter!! I can’t believe it!! Thank you for the inspiration and guidance! Love to you and your beautiful wife!
I just bought myself a male and female betta 2 weeks ago and since I'm still a beginner, I've been seeking for ideas and tips in taking extra care of them as well as preparing for their tank especially aquascaping to improve their place. So glad you uploaded this, thank you!
@@harish_satheesh If you're planning to breed them, you can keep them together. Though, there still a few steps and process on breeding them. But in my case, I keep them on a separate tank since I don't have plans yet on breeding them.
If they're currently in the same tank, split them up into tanks of their own. Or, you could add a tank divider, assuming the tank is big enough for both of them. Good luck with your fish!
tanner it's amazing how your videos get better and better with each one that comes out. the shots, the audio, the instructions, the script, everything. just when i think that you're finally at your signature style and the quality can't get any better, the next video you put out is even better. you were born for this! i hope you have success in youtube for as long as you want to do it. i'll be here for the whole journey🖤
I find your channel so relaxing and amusing that you build things related to nature, I'm glad some people are still appreciating nature and it's course, sometimes nature is often underappreciated. I love nature and taking walks in forest's, seeing the plants thrive and reproduce is just the best part of it. I love your channel and what you do ❤️
You must realize that a 2 hour tank video is genius. I love them. I play them at a daycare, it's like having a 55. Put a camera on every tank! Go with this...
You continue to blow my mind. This is so simple, yet so hectic in the best way possible. I keep a few different species of wild bettas (betta persephone, betta api api, betta imbellis, betta mahachai) and I am taking some serious inspiration from this build ! Thank you !!
I hope you're feeling well and doing ok, you sounded down in this one. I can relate. I love the wood you based this on. It's super awesome. Such a cool build for a handsome little beta! 💕
I love this sort of setup. I've made something similar for my black ghost knife fish and striped raphael cat. I call it the haunted forest. I only have java fern and one anubis nana plant but I might add more plants like those to the set up. I can only use Epiphyte because the ghost like to move the plants around when looking for food.
How often do you see your striped raphael cat out? I never see mine out, only behind the rocks (and I have them up against the glass and he wedges himself in there, otherwise I would never know if he was still alive)
@@Pidgeonpeep I have a huge hollow log that he and sometimes the ghost hides in. I have several other hiding places but they like that one the best. From the sides it doesn't cover him all that much so I usually can see him. He's also learn that I provide food so when I come to the tank and he's hungry he'll poke his head out and once the food is in he'll come out fully.
does anyone else notice he kept the video under 10 minutes even though it was really really close and he could have sequeezed more ads in if he made it 10 minutes? what a hero
Aye awesome meeting you today man! I didn't want to bother you at first since you were out shopping, but couldn't pass up the opportunity! Thanks for the picture
Hi Tanner, I just wanted to ask. Are you doing good. Your voice sounded different. I just wanted you to know that your videos are amazing and entertaining. Keep up the great job Tanner. I really enjoy your videos. Also so can make a saltwater aquarium I know that isn't your style but I would like to see your take on an saltwater scape from you.
I absolutely love your videos!!! Love love love this tank. Your betta is a King in his kingdom. I love it so much I would have loved to see some detail shots of the betta exploring his new environment. Thanks for sharing such awesome content.🙏🏽
I have been wanting to make another betta tank for a while now. This video has re triggered the interest and I will probably go for a blackwater build this time.
You could name him 反抗期の兄弟, or 反抗兄弟. (Hankouki no kyoudai -> Hankou Kyoudai) This means “rebellious brother” or for those who don’t want to use the full, extended name: “Hank” would be a familiar/English rendition this name. Affectionately, however, he could be known as your rebellious “little brother”. ;) I don’t know if you ever get tired of hearing this, but I love your videos! My wife consented in my buying some supplies at our local thrift shop and collecting Spring samples around our home to keep in a terrarium. Thanks for the inspiration!
As a samurai betta, I think it would be fitting to name him after a famous samurai! Maybe Musashi after Miyamoto Musashi, the brazen expert duelist who beat opponents in duels with only a wooden sword? Or maybe after one of the Three Great Unifiers of Japan, Oda Nobunaga, Toyomoti Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu? Excellent video as always :-)
I am betta breeder and had few years of experience with betta fish..just a tips for people that keeps betta as a pet,u should flaring your betta atleast 5minutes in a day..the reason is for your betta fish to exercising and for his health too..also to keep his fin to stay strong and not easily rotting..also keeping the water quality at the top..just sharing my tips for all of us
Once I was walking through a forest and then I found a black lake, with the information I learned from your video I deduced that the dark colour was caused by tannins released from a tree that fell into the lake, it was a very nice lake.
So awesome! The vibe of the setup perfectly matches the black Betta, and he must be thrilled! So much better than a little cup in a pet store or one of those tiny fishbowls people usually put them in! 🥰
This is so dope. I have a black samurai betta who is totally chill with everyone except fancy guppies and endlers bc of their finnage. But he could not care less about the shrimp in the tank with him. So cute
I love it I am so ready to try and set one up myself but I am to nervous to try it is always a pleasure watching and learning from you and your videos thank you
gorgeous setup. saw someone suggest ronin; i like that name. maybe argent, which means silver in french. seriously an incredible build. your eye for design is really something!
I like- firefly! It suits him! The black and white remind me of when a firefly is glowing, and then stops! It also looks like the beta variation of a firefly axolotl! I think it also represents his big and fiery personality.
I’m building my first paludarium and have lost my favourite piece of driftwood!! I’ve looked for it for hours today and still no luck, even though I remember having it this morning. Watching this made me feel a bit better, because honestly I think I was getting a bit too obsessive over finding it. Sometimes you’ve just gotta let things be and accept you will find them again 11 years later in a ridiculous spot.
I'm so excited to share my new samurai betta with you finally! It feels like he's been a part of the family for so long now. What would you name him? Also, what do you think of his setup? Let me know, and have a great weekend SerpaSquad!
He is so cool! I love how it turned out and the spiderwood is my favourite detail :) i think you should call him Gerald.
I love your videos so much
Considering that he's a samurai Betta, I'd give him a name to match. How about Kenshin or Yojimbo?
Awesome beautiful fish and I really like black water aquarium
I’d name him Ninja 😅 and really liked the setup 👌🏻
Name the fish rōnin, it means wandering/master-less samurai, I think it matches pretty well with this betta's personality.
perfect name!
Love that idea
Agreed ronin - samurai betta perfect name
My first thought as well!
Or a failed college entrance examination who’s trying to take it again 🤣
Absolutely love your blackwater tanks. You really are so talented, and have such an eye for nature. Love this setup, and what a handsome betta. Take care
Stunning scape, amazing betta. Simply gorgeous Tanner
Kishi would be a great name. Means warrior/knight in Japanese.
Kishi the fishy 😂
But...the fish is from Siam
@@beverlyjensen443 current day Thailand, however, they are all over southeast Asia. It is a Samurai Betta hence the Kishi name.
Another guy, Ian Ono I believe, stated Rōnin is perfect for a samurai betta

I’m on the first minute of the second video ever I watch from your channel, and I’m already addicted
Wow. This is truly art. This video genuinely inspired me to do my betta research, and I will soon be giving my Veiltail a planted home that resembles nature rather than plastic!
It’s like having a piece of nature right in your house, absolutely beautiful. I could just sit there and watch it for hours
You are 1 of the few good people that give common fish like bettas a natural home.👍
You’re really gifted at this! How many people said if given the choice they’d come back another life as one of your lucky critters 👍💙
I know you mean well, but calling someone gifted at something will mostly be taken as an insult since "gifted" people are merely people that worked their butts off at something for hundreds of thousands of hours. @@brutalkuhli8351 i hate it when people call me gifted at art and stuff, like no I’ve learned the skill over 1000s of hours.

ohhhhh I love the api api SO much ❤❤❤❤
I'm sure they all think, "Man, I'm living like a rock star!" Great setup and a cool Betta!
Once again I’m left speechless you my sir are living the dream
I could watch him swim around his home for hours. Nice betta you have there with a really good home for him!
That is such a beautiful, tasteful tank. Congrats!
You're such an artist with your hard scapes! I don't keep fish but still enjoy your videos. ❤
I'm glad you have a new betta, and that the water is not too dark.

He sounded more confident to me. I hope I didn't miss something 😕
I thought the exact same thing!
I was thinking he was maybe he's trying a new tone voice for his videos, more calm to fit the flow and subject of his videos. I like it like that! :)
I think the betta intimidated him
I was thinking the same
I appreciate how relaxed your voice has gotten lately 🎶
that driftwood is truly amazing. gorgeous tank and it suits the little angry man perfectly
Beautiful fish, those colors make him look so broody and dangerous. Amazing tank too, you can really tell the scape was made just for him
Great Video! You should someday make a paludarium with some "ancient ruins" or small buildings like a bridge, that would be a super cool video!
I just love that you know the proper way to pronounce betta
i think youre my favorite youtuber. im so exited for every vid you upload!! the tank looks bomb!

I must not go out enough cause I can’t even image wood growing like that out in nature. 😅
Might be a root peice, or even naturally grafted itself early on 🤔
Glilded fins, Silver or argentum are some of my suggestion for the name of this betta.
