yes, you really should get a CRT TV, they actually last a whole lot longer and can withstand lots of wires without shorting out.
This video is so nostalgic, i used to have the both the gameboys you showed and the DC. When i was like 3-5 my cousin would let me play with his PS1 which, then i got a PS2 at age 5-6 which stayed with me for years, i would play Sly cooper and Jack and Daxter all the time.My PS3 broke last year after almost a dozen years of hard work and me always being on it. Finally i got the PS3 that i currently own, (cause it was cheaper then the PS4 which had just come out). Great video as always, I totally wish i had a collection like that.
Sweet collection GV. I've been working on getting all the consoles since I was about 8 when my uncle game me the original Xbox. My brother is giving my the ps1 foe my birthday and my collection is coming cross nicely.

Trust everyone telling you to get a CRT, do it, for NES, SNES, NINTENTO 64, GAMECUBE, XBOX....anything that uses RCA cables ( Yellow, White, Red ).
Its pretty awesome how the NES actually has RCA output even though its mono audio, still rad.
Even the Genesis only had a cable style connection. (I hear you with Sega stuff, its just a great excuse for fanboys to fight about how "better" they think Sega is, I won't go there).
I understand you don't want to lug up a huge CRT to your apt, however you can get smaller ones, like even a 13 inch that is super easy to handle and move. I think 20 inch could be perfect and you won't regret it.
A good crt tv or monitor will make a huge diference, trust me.
@Jhony B Its a must really. Trying to RCA on flat screen with old school systems is a blurry mess!
Nice collection. I currently have linked up in my collection, PAL Super Nintendo (I live in the UK), N64, Wii (early version with GameCube slot, easy and cheaper way to play GameCube on a HDTV), Wii U, 2x rom hacked SNES minis (each packed with different SNES games), Mega Drive model 1, VSaturn (modified multi region Japanese Victor JVC manufactured Sega Saturn), Dreamcast, Xbox, Xbox 360 slim, Xbox One X, PS3 slim, PS4 Pro & PSVR. Just need to get a PS1, PS2, Switch and a rom hacked NES mini.
Look up gcomp switch. You can hook them all up to it and the switch hooks up to the tv or tvs. It auto switches to whatever console powers on. Expensive but worth it.

I have a flatscreen hd tv with a lot of systems set up with it. I recently reorganized them and behind the tv with cable ties, and looks pretty good. I think that most CRT TVs look kinda ugly in a modern room especially. I had a crt a long time ago, and yes, it looked better for older systems. But my room looks more modern without a crt tv.
My collection is Wii U, Xbox one og, PS4 pro, Nintendo switch, ds lite, dsi xl.

I’m just starting out so I have an NES, PS3 Slim, Xbox 360e, (I used to have a Wii but got rid of it and I regret it), and also a New 3DSXL and Regular Switch (not the lite or OLED). Currently looking for SNES, Atari 2600, Wii, N64, GameBoy color & advance, and GameCube currently
My console collection is basically a Wii, original Xbox, 3DS, Game boy Advance, NES Classic Edition, Nintendo64, Game Cube, a plug and play Atari and this plug and play Sega Genesis

A CRT with s-video looks great and is easy/cheap to setup, an HDTV you have to deal with hdmi converters
So I'm thinking about doing basically the exact same thing but does this work also laying down does each of the consoles fit evenly in the cubes
I have 15 consoles all hooked up to one TV. I have two more(Sega Master System and Atari 2600) in boxes because I am running out of room. I have as old as the Atari 2600 and as new as the Switch.

I would totally get a crt tv. Especially for the Nintendo 64. For some reason the 64 on a flatscreen makes the image a lot more blurry and the rendering distance goes wonky. The picture kinda just blends together instead of the pixel ish look you get with a crt so yeah I would get one. They are pretty cheap everywhere just get one that outputs to 480 p.

A lot of retro gamers use CRT's for convience and cost. All those older consoles don't have hdmi and converters can cost a LOT of money (hundreds of dollars for all of the consoles). A compromise can be a Hyperkin RetroN 5, that "console" can play most of the older cartridges and uses the original controllers, but has hdmi output. Personally I play on a modern 1080p flatscreen TV, all the games just look so pretty and crisp, it's just a major pain to hook all the consoles up to it.

Ive personally found that old consoles look far better and depending on your flat screen lag will be an issue.
CRT is mandatory. The way the HDTV processes the image distorts it.
Pretty sure the older consoles work on any TV, I know for sure at least the N64 does since a friend of my dad's has one hooked up to his TV that he plays on, so there's a good chance the rest do too. Also kind of sorry that I was a moron and didn't realize it was a DS Lite, but you said you preferred that one, anyway

Older consoles (N64 and earlier) look awful on flat HD tv's. For instance in Bart vs. Space Mutants on NES everybody looks like they have a weird afro.

You shouldn't leave games in the NES becuse it compresses the pins in the 72 pin connector which may cause it not to work.

Hey I have a suggestion for skyrims hidden treasures it is an unmarked location with a unique weapon it is a little open ing in the cliff right under cradle stone tower it has a few trolls but it is cool

play snes on a crt then a new flat screen first, the crt will give you a much better picture than a new hdtv, the conversion and resolution of new tvs really does kill the quality of games up to ps2 and xbox
