    Is it compatible with Ryzen 7 7800x3d?

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  6 месяцев назад

      It's not - this is an Intel board. You'll have to look at motherboards with the AMD A620, B650, X670 or X670E chipset - such boards will support the 7800X3D.

    Judging by the holes around the socket this board has backwards compatibility with the 1200 mount. Is that correct?

    • @ALKtech

      Now that you mention it, it does appear that the board might support LGA1200 coolers going by the shape of the cooler mount openings on the board...haven't had the chance to try a LGA1200 bracket myself to confirm if this is indeed the case though!

      How's the pricing like for both boards where you're from? Also, are you intending to overclock? If you're not going to OC the 14700KF, the Strix B760 (which I assume is going to be much cheaper than the Z790 board) will do just fine!

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hey there, that's right! If you're getting a M.2 SSD for this board, do get one that doesn't come with a heatsink stuck on it - there are some drives out there with heatsinks that cannot be removed by end-users, while there are some that come with separate heatsinks that you can simply opt not to install. Hope this helps!

      What processor are you intending to use for your build? Personally, if I didn't care much about built-in RGB LEDs/board aesthetics, and wouldn't mind just a standard audio codec, I'd probably save the US$25 and get the MSI, which has a pretty decent VRM setup and should handle mid-range Intel 13th/14th Gen processors decently well.

      I suspect this board could be a model more targeted at the Southeast Asian market, and with DDR5 being more common, ASUS could have de-prioritised shipping out the D4 variant that is featured in this video! Where I'm from (Singapore), the D4 is no longer available and the DDR5 variant is instead more commonplace!

    Correct me if i'm wrong, in comparison between B760-G & B660-G (Apart from the DDR5 & DDR4 difference and PCie x16 slot 2 4.0 & 3.0 difference) There is not much significent improvments right?

    • @ALKtech

      Yeap, and the fact that the B760-G comes with WIFI 6E instead of WIFI 6 with the B660-G. If you don't really care for a white or black board, I'd probably just go with whichever board's the cheapest of the two where you're from...though the fact that both boards use different memory types does make it a little harder to do an apples to apples comparison.

    This board is just cluttered with random stuff that ruins the visuals. The little graphic on the top left, the "ROG STRIX" writing on the VRM heatsink, the "GAME ON " at the bottom of the heatsink, the writing on the m.2 heatsink and whatever that incoherent stuff on the chipset heatsink are all look different from each other and just don't give off a coherent design language. I normally really like ASUS's white boards, currently sporting two white builds, one with a Prime X570-Pro and one with an ROG Strix X670E-A Gaming Wifi, but this board here is absolutely awful to look at.
