I agree with you! This is the information you should share more when reviewing a bike instead of all the marketing BS you normally see (while all competitors do the same with almost the same specs). You see it nowadays in the races when in the final sprint 5-6 top brands finish almost at the same time. Nowadays every aero roadbike is top notch and the differences are minimal. This is probably also the reason why OEM brands like Van Ryssel can compete easily with the more classic brands that are out there for centuries.

I met Ben at the tour d France in Pau before he started that day after he came dn off the ramp / gave me at least a minute of his time 🥳🍺 - .. as did all of the riders from Perth ( 5 in total 🥇) we are do so proud of them all / an inspiration to all our up and coming riders out of Perth and Australia .. 🎉🎉
It's always very interesting to hear from a current top pro about their current equipment and setup, and Ben has been really great about agreeing to do these videos. Nicely done, Tristan 👍
Amazing video! As a Pinarello roadbike enthousiastic, I must say, this Van Ryssel RCR roadbike looks really good. The Van Ryssel TimeTrial bike looks great as well (I love the way you can shift with your thumbs). Yes, it's cheaper than Pinarello, but still pretty high in price due to the used 3rd party components (wheels, saddle, groupset). Never seen before I think in the world of PRO cycling that a "housebrand" (from Decathlon) actually performs on top level (and sometimes outperforms apparently) compared to Pinarello, BMC, S-Works/Specialized, Scott, Trek and so on).
Fab interview and run-through the hardware - both were very candid, keen and knowledgeable about what the viewers want - look forward to the next Review!
140 stem and 38 bars.. now that’s a pro setup!!! It looks like the drops flare out too?? Kick ass in the giro Ben!! A few months back when Ben visited Aus he passed me on a bikeway in Bris and waved.. I was too slow (and in shock) to wave back.. gutted 😂
The dude is like 6'3" or something at least, so yeah. But the narrower bars allow them to get their arms inward more and more forward, so another 10mm stem length isn't a "stretch" for them...see what I did there??
Very very informative, that's what we want to know. The insights into tyres (front/rear) and chainring teeth is very very sounding. Not only what, but also why. Very good video!
Interesting they’re sticking with 28s front and 30s rear etc in tubeless. With all this focus on super wide 32 and even 34s being faster it’s interesting to see the pros holding to the narrower tyres on their bikes. Would be keen to hear more views on this from Ben and the whole ‘tubeless is dangerous’ narrative that’s going on at present.
Well done Ben. Good to see an Aussie smashing cycling tours around the world. Saw the Ras Al Khaimah, Jebel Jais race. It took me longer to get to the top with my car lol. Unfortunately Decathlon don't sell the hi-end Van Rysel's in the UAE yet. I'm watching that space. Thanks for the update Tristan.

Yeah, there is a lot of hype about this Van Reysel for the highest end version like he has, is still a 8KUSD+ bike. You can get a top end Canyon for the same. Only a few crazy brands like Scott, Trek, Pinerello will charge more for really nothing special compared to those two brands. But, You can get the version below the RCR Pro and is still a phenomenal bike for thousands less..like 5K range.

Just a simple comparison with where similarly specc’d and performing bikes are priced. Nobody should spend that much money on a bike but they do, and the fact these sold out in minutes is testament to how the cycling public sees the value compared to other options.
At what speed is there an aerodynamic benefit of having a thin front 25mm tyre rather than a 28mm as in the rear tyre? Is that true also for non-pro at 30-35 km/h?
