    In the future you will also be available to just buy the RCR Pro frame for 2500€, which is going to be a killer deal. Given how cheap you can get the very soon to be replaced SRAM Red groupset atm, you can build a top 7kg bike for around 5k€ .

    They had a rather large stall at the Shanghai bike show... Makes me wonder if alot of the bikes will be sold in China and due to the large market there... It may mean not too many bikes will available in other regions.

      I think it was about 7.7kg in the white with the rival. This also comes with a quark power meter. I liked the white- looks good with the dual coloured top tube. But the black RCR’s caught my attention more with the tan wall tyres.

    Dude, it is so dangerous filming and talking into a camera that is hand held leaving one hand on the handle bars to steer. Just put a bracket on your handle bar with the phone in it and pointing at you. You can talk to it and control your bike more safely. As for filming the ride itself. Do what I do, and mount a camera on your helmet. I have a Contour which has been going for years with a 130 degree view without being a fish eye lens. But I believe Go Pro is the most popular option, either helmet mounted or on your chest. Much safer for you and your fellow riders.

    • @thewattlife
      @thewattlife  3 месяца назад +2

      I was born in the 80’s- health and safety wasn’t a thing. I don’t mind filming with one hand but I do understand it has its drawbacks backs.
      I have a front mount with a 2nd camera under it which I’ll use for chain gang rides as I won’t film one handed doing that

  • @DanTuber

    The step up from £5.5 to 9k just doesn't seem worth it. I'd say it seems like a nice bike but not really any better value than a canyon on discount. Even the frame only would be close to 5K AUD.

    • @thewattlife
      @thewattlife  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah seems like a big one. I think for value the Force /Ultegra seem like the best option- with power meter.
      Still a good weight bike. Even swapping an aftermarket bar (which you don’t need to) would be more economical

    Isn't Decathlon doing exactly the same as you did with your T1550, just on a huge scale?
    I get everyone doesn't want to build a bike themselves, but it shows how overpriced big brands are!

    • @thewattlife
      @thewattlife  3 месяца назад

      These bikes are going to sell really well given their price and the components they are paired with. The RCR with Sram Force and power meter is 5,500.
      This is maybe £1,000 more than my T1550 but you get a localised retailer to deal with any problems you might have.
      Decathlon doesnt feel like a bike store- it seems like its a very big company which could afford to put money into developing this bike and has an already established network to act as distributor. Theyve done well with the RCR and not least because of Ben O'Conner

      @@thewattlife indeed. From his own view, the swiss side wheels seem to be half the answer, they really geeked out on aerodynamics, rim / tyre interface and so on. The frame can't be materially different from peers, starting with the fact it really, really looks like an sl7.

    • @thewattlife
      @thewattlife  3 месяца назад

      The 9k is the replica for the Tour team so I guess while it’s expensive it has to be in line with the quality of the rest of the teams so the price kinda makes sense.
