Very easy access from south loop. A slog push up. I walked down those really steep corners after the right turn as I couldn’t keep control with the brakes almost locked! Mind you I was on my hardtail 😂
Love the concept (Bike and Hike). Nice looking bike. I’ve had similar experiences in Les Cévennes, Mont Lozère. I’ve lived in France since 2008. Had cancer in 2015, lost a kidney. A year’s recuperation so loss of fitness. In order to come to terms with the 27.5” wheels and new headstock revolution I bought a Yeti SB75. Longer wheelbase which took some getting used to. But the performance is outstanding. It’s like riding a hardtail but with 5” rear travel which your just don’t feel. It feels like you’re riding a billiard table. Really weird to get used to after my 4-bar. Love your vid. I’m 63. Still riding full on. Be safe lads 😎🤘.
If you don't fancy the hike-a-bike then it's a very worthwhile descent from near where you came out of whinlatter on to Grizedale pike and down towards Braithwaite.
I've got a weekend break in the Lakes this weekend and was going to go to Whinlatter. They look like different sort of trails to these but torn whether to ride these instead. Any local advice?

If the action cam makes it look flat - then there huge chunks of descent where im making buttons just watching it - im gonna have to stick to the blue trails !!! That looked like epic fun, i really need more saddle time.
Looks stunning down there. Cracking video man :-). Could I ask what you do with your drone controller when you film yourself? I’ve got a lanyard for my Air 2 controller, works ok, but gets in the way of my chest mount - so it’s either or. Thought about taking the sticks out and putting it in my bag but like having the controller handy
@@streetpigeonmtb If you are interested in a more adventurous ride from Grisedale Pike, once at the top you can head over to Crag Hill then down to Rigg Beck. It's a good day out.
Grisedale Pike (not Grizedale, as you have in your chapter titles). Grizedale and Grizedale Forest (both still in the Lakes) are much further south, and well worth a visit. The trail centre is pretty meh for me, but so is Whinlatter. The real attraction is the off-piste trails, which are the best in the region after some other spots have recently been destroyed by Forestry Cumbria.

I think it would be crap with the eeb. Only insofar as the hike a bike would be pretty awful. I deffo wouldn't take the Intense up there for sure 🙈

I did this with lots of clouds, such a sureal feeling where you cant tell your going down hill or how fast your going

Yeah man. It just goes in the bag. It normally works although it was playing up loads when we were there 🤦♂️
Have done this a few times. If you like idea of a back country adventure, it’s a fantastic place to start
