This!!!! Would love to see someone cover those bikes. Sure, covering top of the line is nice but most people never have the disposable income to sink in 8-10k bikes. The NCR/EDR is something that is still an important investment and for most of us, that'll be the top of the line that we can afford.
Price of frame is the best thing about this bike. It costs around 2700? EUR and you get the same frame the pros use. For comparison, the Sworks Tarmac frame the pros use costs like 5500 EUR and other brands aren't that far off in terms of prices. You can basically build an amazing bike with electronic shifting and carbon wheels for around 5k that rivals those that are over 10k. I just hope the frames come with more color options. The abyss green one looks sick in person.
Correct me if I am wrong, but AFAIK that frameset is the RCR PRO, not the regular RCR. So potentially, if the RCR frameset does release, it should be even cheaper
I just bought the RCR Pro frameset and am doing a build now. Should be done next month. I've been on my Cervelo R5 for 5yrs, so this will be a nice addition to the family. Looking forward to seeing how it rides.
I ride the rcr pro team replica, and I'm a bit surprised with your thoughts about the comfort: in my opinion the bike is super comfy, even as a former owner of an ultimate cf sl. The bike is way way stiffer than the canyon at high power, and feels much safer in descent (one of the bad points of the ultimate).
It's always very interesting to hear peoples opinions - and they are just opinions as "Comfort" is subjective of course. I always take these reviews with a grain of salt. Am looking forward to finishing my RCR Pro build and seeing how it compares to my R5. Glad to hear you're enjoying yours!
Are these (aero type) bikes that much faster/better than a bike like the Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0, which you seem very fond of? I’m leaning towards a defy but don’t want to sacrifice performance
They are faster but the Defy is not slow and with deep section wheels it's still a quick bike - and the Defy's position might make it easier to rider faster for longer in more comfort. So unless you're racing or chainganging all the time the Defy won't sacrifice performance for you
4.500, for an 8kg bike (without pedals). How in god's name is this good value. Who cares if other companies are charging 5 or 6 grand. This is still stupid money and if anyone pays it. Then more fools you. This is the reason bikes are so expensive. Tools are paying so much for heavy bikes.
I'm with you, but consider it includes an electronic group, a power meter and Zipp wheels. It's still nuts though, I have 10-15 year old bikes that were much cheaper and much lighter (no discs or clearance for huge tyres though, which I do think is a huge win on modern bikes).
The prices in the US, due to import, aren't as attractive enough compared to other major brands and especially Canyon. This model $1000 more in the US.
Not really sure what to make of this bike. I think it will fall in value massively on the second hand market. Also I don't know what the buying experience or aftersales care will be like from a big store retailer. I would rather pay the extra to get the street cred, resale value and desirablity of a one of the big brands ie trek, spec, pinarello, etc ,
All second hand bikes are worthless as the used market is dead because people can’t finance them and have no warranty. I had one of the older 2016 Btwin Ultra CF’s which I rode 5 years and still use for Crit racing. Bikes been faultless and Decaton after sales would put most to shame. When yon consider my S Works SL7 is on its 3rd warrenty frame in just over a year, buying higher end means nothing when it comes to quality.
Could you also do review on the Cinelli bikes. It’s such a cool company and I like thier “cult” approach to their fan base. Still tehy support the Italien youth teams and a local pro team. Even their old model the superstar seems to have been the frontrunner of the Pinarello top tube design. I’m intrigued but I don’t know if they are any good 😢😂 please 🙏
It’s funny how those people who railed against “marketing” were well and truly sucked in by bike industry marketing. Did people honestly expect a £2000 SL8? 😂 The fact is that most bike manufactures have pretty standard costs around groupsets and the variation comes from frames and wheel sets.
frame costs specialized about 900 bucks, consumers can buy dura ace for about 2000 euros so I can only imagine what specialized pays for them, they make their own wheel sets and it probably only costs them about 600 bucks. seems like it only really costs them about 3000 euros so yeah, I think its fair to expect the bikes to be about 5k.
Sadly most manufacturers do that, but it's starting to change at least. 42cm has been standard for size M/54 for a long ass time. 40cm or 38cm would fit a lot more people.
@@Ca11mero that’s why people are buying more Chinese brands like Winspace and Yoeleo. It’s insane at their price points to not offer some customizability
Maybe couldn’t infiltrate Stadium and XXL territory:) I think the concept of Decathlon doesn’t really work in Sweden…but I’d like to know the actual reason behind their “retreat”.
@@jooohan-i9o Well only stores in Stockholm and really slow deliveries was probably why they did not go home here in Sweden. Also, very few sales or campaigns, not even black friday or winter sales of any kinds. People want to feel like they are getting a deal! Really bad they are leaving, I could live with 1-2 weeks delivery if I knew that was the case.
disappointing, why don't they just offer the same team bike. I don't get all the BS of cutting corners for base models. Just do it properly! jesus.Still a complete rip off in price and unjustifiable.
Aero benefits you more than light weight on the climbs? Haven't you got this backwards? Aero counts for nothing unless you're going over 25mph and low weight is paramount for a fast climbing bike.
Aero starts being the major force slowing you down at just 15mph. And you also need to keep in mind that these 15mph are not necessarily the speed you are moving at. If you have oncoming wind at 5mph and you are going at more than 10mph, the combined drag is once again more than 15mph which makes the aero important.
@@Macuhdohnadadoh True, bike marketers gotta market, but this question is settled. Aero is better than light (outside of long, steep climbs), but Aero + Light > Aero, which is where bike marketers have moved to now. No where else to go but more aero + more light (which is what we’ll see).
@@Macuhdohnadadoh 100%! Fit for purpose is always best, though if you are going to make generalized comparisons, you have to exclude environment/personal preference/drafting/etc, and I think reasonable to resort to watt efficiency or speed/time to complete a specific distance (what else would be better?), looking at both flats and moderate climbs (4-5% grades), which represent the vast majority of riding. And there, aero always wins.

It’s a copy of SL7 … and this is the reason because it’s very nice bike
Let down by the UK prices thanks to the Brexit. The Canyon Aeroad is cheaper than Van Rysel both at medium and top levels.
So Canyon a German brand isn't affected by BREXIT 😂😂😂😂😂😂
The Canyon Aeroad is also cheaper n Spain where I live.
@@drummerman122 still cheaper in the uk than the van rysel. And also come with single piece handlebar which costs more than two piece design.
Plenty of bikes made in Taiwan or China.
