The transformation of the Forward Unto Dawn from a Charon to a Strident class frigate between Halo 3 and Halo 4 was what made me start being hyper critical of 343 Industries. I am HUGEEEE lore and continuity nerd and this really flipped my switch.
"Led by the dumbfounded High-Prophet of Regret, who didn't expect there to be any human precense, let alone the single largest human fleet", yeah, that about sums up how he felt in the moment. Name says it all.
I do some editing on Halo Fanon (the crazy non-canon cousin of Halopedia), and I have to say my favourite is definitely the Paris-class. Something about those wing sponsors and the angular design is just too cool.
I think I'm incline to agree, if I were tasked with building a fleet out of UNSC ships I'd pick the Paris before any other frigate. Best for naval combat, coolest looking, carrying strike craft, I love the Paris
An interesting idea, down the line I've planned out a breakdown of the Diligence Class, which was pre-insurrection, so going back there are some interesting things to contrast with the modern era.
really underratted channel, big halo fan who usually watches the larger channels who discuss halo. i feel so glad to have found this channel as its quality is on par with the best. good quality graphics, all relavent info, really easy to digest, very good audio and speech. easy to listen too and clearly lots of effort put into the videos. lots to praise here. im usually not picky on these things but its hard not to notice the effort in these videos. congrats for hitting 1k im sure youll go much higher.
Hey congrats that your channel is boosting up there bro! I really have been digging these ship breakdowns! Is there any other types of content that you'd be interested in making? I really like these informative pieces, especially when you add your opinions in on it. Being informative yet charismatic is a great combo! :D
Thanks for the kind words, and yep I have a ton of different ideas, ship breakdowns of franchises other than Halo, story retellings from the books, and I've been writing a couple original stories set in the Halo universe (non canon of course, and I'm still not good enough at editing for that.) Other than that, I have my other channel in the description if you're interested. I'm glad you've been enjoying the videos!
@@gammacompanymark Oh wonderful! Yeah for as great as Halo can be it does have a rather limited amount of ships to make content on exclusively hahaha I love those ideas! Especially making your own original stories set for the halo universe. I'm a hobby writer myself and have quite a few fanfics, though none to completion mainly due to my own chaotic way of going about them ahahaha Is there one involving, get this, Lieutenant Jacob Keyes? xD That point in the video was great. Never quite thought of how many times the Keyes family shows up till now. Oh sure I'll check it out :)
@@phoenixwithsomeflair I've fallen in love with audio dramas lately so I'll try my hand at a few, and yeah I thought it was almost comical how much of the halo canon pre-343 was all about Keyes. It may or may not be a little exaggerated in the video, (as in I think I touched on pretty much everything they did, save for the pillar of autumn) but I thought still thought it was funny
@@phoenixwithsomeflair Oh and nothin about Keyes in those stories, they'd be wholly original and probably something 343 might not risk, really out-there stories. As for your own writing, if you keep trying I'm sure you'll finish one, in time. I've never fully written one yet but after these videos and getting used to talking for a while it shouldn't be too hard. I find it helps to work up to longer things like that.
@@gammacompanymark You definitely put effort into the vid so I did in watching. You have sharp skills & your craftmanship speaks volumes. If I wasn't so tired I'd compliment you more or ask a question. May the future bring you good health & fortune!
Wow, three ship break downs in one, what did we do to deserve such a treat? Also your vocals sound crisp and clear and it made the video a great listen. One thing I noticed though was at around 2:50 or so when you mention the stalwart class frigates weight you state 0.93 metric tons but forgot to add the million. It’s barley noticeable, so no worry’s!
I've recently gotten into 3D printing models. Your channel got me interested in naval combat and ships in the Halo Universe, inspired me to start reading the Halo books, and to start 3D printing UNSC and Covenant ships....starting with the UNSC frigates. Thanks for this content! You've made it fun to dive into this lore.
Speaking for the engines being disabled and the ship spinning irl hms Edinburgh (I think that was her name) had a similar issue and when engaged waited to swing around enough that her guns could engage the attacker. Applied here I'm sure the spin could be guided amd the MAC fired
Hey man, love these videos so far, would absolutely LOVE a breakdown of UNSC firearms. Instillation 00 did one but he didn’t really break down the deep lore behind the weapons (where you have with these ships)
Bungie: The Paris is the main fighting unit, the Stalwart is an escort ship with multi role capabilities and the Charon is a landing assault ship. 343: What if, we fucked it all up because we have this enlarged Strident model laying around?
Halo's UNSC ships are always recognizable in fiction. Though not featured here, if given the chance, I'd take command of a Halberd class though. The Paris frigate would be my 2nd choice.
When or where was it implied that Medicate Bias pulled teleported the Dawn to the Didact? I ask because I haven't read the books and all this time I've thought Chief was just floating and conveniently placed outside the shield world.
Is that a game you're playing in the background?(The space one) Is that a standalone game or a mod for another game? If it is either, please tell me what it is, I've been wanting to play a halo space battle for months and the old mods for Empire at ear aren't doing it.
What about the Charon class frigate from Red vs Blue? Forget the name, but it appears in season 12-15? And the Paris? Class frigate for the freelancer's? Mother something?
simple 360 degree rotations could be utilized to counter an engine failure and still use the main battery albeit at reduced efficiency, not to mention I find it hard to believe a ship of such magnitude could even maneuver effectively without counter thrusters somewhere on the hull which would kind of make the main thrusters unnecessary when lining up with a target anyways, super awesome vid otherwise though. Also thanks for the Iroquois clarification, that's the kind of public service we need more of! Btw "Charon" is actually greek and pronounced "Ka-ron" in English, and your pronunciation of "Agincourt" dissapoints me severely... Study History... Or don't... "Agincourt" is a great name for small warships do to the nature in which the battle of Agincourt played out where King Henry V defeated King Charles VI who unlike Hal did not command his own men when he led somewhere around 9,000 Englishmen against up to 30,000 Frenchmen, and, due to superior troop maneuvering and use of terrain, defeated the French army and would later snowball into France bending the knee to England as a whole. its a name for the underdog boat that can still pack a punch, btw its pronounced "Aj-in-Cor". Again amazing video otherwise though I love the way you narrate its entertaining yet informative and sometimes funny!

Why they decided THAT was a needed change I will never know.
@@elijahnajera5425 Exactly. It makes no sense at all.
@@elijahnajera5425 Because they'd designed a new frigate, and decided to re-use the asset, and then scaled it up, as a play-space... basically.
It was more than a design choice. It was a glaring sign of how they would treat the games in their entirety
