Stephanie I've been following your recipes for more than 6 years. You've made me the best baker in my family. I don't know how to thank you. I LOVE YOU
My boyfriend loves cooking but he always likes to cook when I instruct him. I teach him over Skype since he lives faraway and he asked me if I know how to make a no-bake cake (since he doesn't have an oven in his bachelorpad) for this Christmas. This recipe is a lifesaver! Thank you Stephenie Jaworski for this!
I made this last night. I love the texture and all the flavors that come through especially the toasted nuts (I used pecans). This is my first recipe of Stephanie's to try. I enjoy watching her detailed videos. Thank you Stephanie for putting the 'joy' into baking.
I'm in the UK, and 30 years ago my friend had a pub and used to make and serve this cake exactly the same as you, gorgeous! so glad you made this film, memories xxxx
Stephanie I been watching your video since 2012 and I have learned SO much from you. I am also very happy to see your personality came through naturally on camera over these years and even when I am not planning a recipe sometimes, I still watch how you prepare them because you make the whole process of baking such a JOY!!! Joy of baking indeed!!
I am English and this cake is a childhood favourite, can't wait to make it again. Maria biscuits are not quite the same as digestives. Some Scottish friends called this tiffin.
Thanks a lot for sharing this recipe. Along with my friend I made this using a combo of dark, milk and white chocolates. just melted white chocolate separately. Also nuts used were cashew and almonds. It was sooooo yummm! Loved it!
I remember both my mother and my grandmother making this cake. In my country we make it in a shape of sausage and it is called "sweet sausage". I usually put a little bit chocolate in my "sausage" but I would love to try your version. Thank you! I love your channel !
We usually make them with chocolate and only the cookies, I just made one with the mixed nuts, cookies, black chocolate (85%) and honey. It's in the refrigerator just now. Can't wait to try it. Thank you for sharing this version. :)
Stephanie, you are so funny when you are about to sample about anything chocholate. There is this wonderful grin come over you face of total delight. Keep it up, it makes me smile everytime I see it! I really like your and Rick's channel.
This is one of the "cakes" we made for birthdays in boarding school in Nigeria. Nestle's Milo (chocolate powder) and tons of digestive biscuits (cookies)
I love everything you make.... I mean you could just stand there and cook water and I'd still watch. ... I love love your videos♡♡♡♡.... all the way from Africa
Thank you for sharing your recipes..... you are such a fantastic teacher.Till date i have followed most of your recipes and instructions and always, always the result has been perfect. Thank you :)
My gran made a similar one, which was delicious. She used Tennis biscuits, brick layered them and poured the chocolate sauce over. No other ingredients, but will give this one a try. Also sounds delicious.
In Malaysia we call this "kek batik". but instead of cutting the cookies to small pieces, we just cut it in big pieces [or not cut it at all]. when the cake is finished and we cut the cake, there's a beautiful pattern to each cake pieces 😊
Oh Stephanie, that looks so good! Nice to see a 'British' recipe being used. We seem to be hated the world over, these days. So thank you very much for your lovely recipe. :o)
This cake is big in Australia too and like Britain, biscuits are cookies. In Aust, I find the Arnott’s milk coffee biscuits (no coffee in them( the best for this recipe and golden syrup. It can also be set in a slice pan, iced (frosted) with chocolate and called hedgehog slice.
In Italy we call it "Salame di cioccolato" - chocolate salami - because we give it a salami shape. We usually don't put nuts, only cookies. Somebody put liquor in it. It's also good eaten straight out of the freezer.
Thank you for the awesome recipe i am a new subscriber and i love your way of explaning what you're doing and the specific steps. i am from Morocco and i don't speak english very well but i understand everything ! your videos help me learn english. i loved your cheescake recipe , i can't wait to try this one as well. (it is my daughter who wrote this comment for me!)
Stephanie to the rescue!!! I have been invited to dinner at a friend's house and we are experiencing a heat wave...now I can be a hero to her chocolate loving son with this great recipe AND not put the oven on! To avoid arguments I will make it in a small square pan and cut it into brownie size pieces; that way it is still not a whole slice when he gets to eat 2!
This looks so good My husband will love this because he loves anything cholocolate. I am going to make this for the holidays and see what he thinks. Love your videos.
Stephanie, the bulk barn store has the round semi sweet and dark chocolate chips, baker's chocolate, roasted nuts, raw nuts, rolled oats, dried fruit, honey, maple syrup, graham cracker crumbs, sweet coconut, dried unsweetened coconut, etc that I can buy and put in your recipes
Hello Ma'am, I tried this recipe no bake cake...So amazing and delicious it is and soo simple to make.. Once again thank you so much for your videos.. Regards 🌹🌹
Hi Stephanie, Could you do a tutorial on how to make homemade puff pastry? Puff pastry sheets are not available where I live and I have been looking for a good recipe.
Well, any idea I had of losing weight just went to h___ ;) BTW your chocolate chunk cookies made a convert of me. Used to hate 'em but I have yet to try a recipe of yours I don't love 😇😇😘 Blessed to have found you, and many, many thanks for sharing.
Growing up in East Germany way before the wall came down this was a very popular dessert we called "Kalter Hund", literally translated meaning cold Dog.😂
Hi!This is a great recipe! Here in Greece we have a similar recipe and we call it chocolate biscuit cake or mosaico or kormo !I personally keep it really simple without nuts or raisins and I use only cocoa powder instead of chocolate!I have the recipe on my channel! You can check it out if you would like!
Joy of baking, wow your no bake chocolate biscuit cake looks so good and tasty. If it would be ok with you I am going to make your recipe at home soon,it looks like an easy recipe for me to make at home.Where can I get your recipe and copy it down and make it at home?
Stephanie, I really love the flavor of this cake. I have made it several times. However, my cakes are always more crumblier than yours. When sliced, it just crumbles into shards. It still tastes wonderful but it is not presentable. Also, it softens very fast once out of fridge and smears on my fingers, bowls, and plates. I suspect the unpleasant features (crumbliness and stickiness) are caused by the way I melt the chocolate? Do you have any advice on melting chocolate? I assume that we are not tempering the chocolate here since we are adding other things to the chocolate. Thank you.
Do you cut the cake into slices after just chilling until set. You don’t want to cut it when the cake is really cold and too firm, or it does tend to crumble.
could you use more milk chocolate, maybe with semi-sweet, and just cut down on the sweetener? (not a big fan of the bitterness of dark chocolate, and i'd be making it for my grandkids who love milk chocolate.)
Stephanie, have you ever tried this with white chocolate? Do you think it would work? I'm tempted to make a holiday version of this, perhaps with white chocolate and some candy cane pieces. :)
wow! I love chocolate and nuts ! I'm defintely going to make this specially for the holidays Thank you so much Stephenie Jaworski "Happy Thanksgiving" to you and your love once
Interesting cake. Looks great, does it melt easily if kept at room temperature stephanie? I'm asking this because of transportation to take to a party for example.
I used to make similar no-bake desserts quite often. It depends on your definition of "room temperature" and how long they're going to stay under this condition. From my own experiences, they stayed in good shape around 26°C for at least an hour or so. Still, better use some dry ice just to be sure, especially if you live in tropical/subtropical regions like I do. Hope this helps!
Stephanie
