I liked the deluxe edition overall, though I was quite underwhelmed by the gold foil treatment to the cover. Especially since, for the Avatar book I was thinking it wasn't bad, but they should put more next time, this felt like going backwards. Lining up my two art books was okay. Could never get all three major points of the cover to align fully, which was a shame, but hopefully it will still look good once all six books are stacked together.
Hearing that they didn’t change much kinda disappoints me a little, I already have book 1: air( along with every art book darkhorse has released for the series) but there’s gotta be a ton more stuff they can add to make it worth buying the book twice. Lately I’ve been eyeing more artbooks of my favorite anime, I like the way they show the rough sketch work more than some American artbooks when it comes to character design
Thank you for your thorough review! I have the 1st edition and am sorely tempted by this new one, but honestly the additional content is not as much as I expected. What a letdown :(
Omg I checked the listing again for the new Q max Aang Figure and they’re going to be a Katara probably too. Soo I probably won’t have to worry about having too many Aang’s now. I’m excited and I’m pretty sure this line will have a Zuko too. I’m getting all three if they make all three. They better make Katara or I’ll be mad I’m soo happy these statues are not 100 dollars they are around the same price as the Diamond Select dioramas. I’m probably not going to get the McFarlane ones unless they impress me. There’s too many options now. I’ll get only tenzin and Katara from McFarlane unless the faces look bad.
Maybe the sixth art book is a art book of the new series that is being produced for paramount plus. Maybe adult team Avatar series for the sixth art book??? Cause there’s too many Korra art books and a lack of avatar ones. I wish....I hope it is
It is a weird situation, we know what it is, Beasts of the Four Nations. The issue is that it got revealed, delayed and now delayed Indefinitely awaiting reannouncement. I assume Avatar Studios forming has pushed it back.
I’m curious to how much Bryan’s avatar artwork he auctioned off for the Native American people went for?? I’d love to get one of his Katara arts. I’d die for one.
@@AirspeedPrime So would you recommend that I order this one and if its worth to wait until the other second editions come out before getting the other artbooks? Since they include the same stuff from the first editions plus some extra stuff and different covers they should be better to get instead of getting both right?
@@eiden5778 If you have no art books and the deluxe editions are not something you want, then the standard version of the second editions are definitely the way to go.
@@AirspeedPrime Thank you I will go for them. I’ve watched avatar since I was a kid but only now got into all the books and your videos have been quite helpful. Great review, keep it up!
@@AirspeedPrime thank you I went to Barnes and noble and bought it yesterday. It’s awesome. I never had any of the Korra art books soo these are new to me. When is book 2 rerelease coming out??
Omg I just got a notification about a new preorder for a sick as heck Aang fighting with airbending with Momo flying in the sky above him. I rushed to preorder it the second it got out on Bigbadtoystores website. I’ve decided to only get the Diamond select avatar figures from now on and any Katara ones that are made because theirs an extreme lack of Katara figures and I’m mad about that. You don’t know how bad I want a fire nation Katara bloodbending figure. The McFarlane I want to see how their faces look before I buy them. Katara I’m buying from McFarlane for sure but I’m not sure about the others. I’m in love with Diamond Select face sculpting and the accuracy of the outfits and I love the bending elements they come with. I tell you McFarlane is overrated. They have to prove to me they’re amazing for me to buy the whole gang again. But Katara I’m buying anyway because they’re is a lack of Katara figures. I’m getting the Best Action Katara too.
I was soo disappointed with the avatar limited edition art book. If it had more silver on the cover and an lithograph of team avatar I would’ve bought it for the high price. I woulda bought it because I bought the avatar steelbook because I’m obsessed with avatar soo much. I’m also collecting all the old avatar books from 2008
The price difference with the standard and deluxe editions is ridiculous, but I want that RaavaxVaatu image so bad.
It really is, just for a extra printed lithograph, slightly foil cover and a slip box, its twice the price? no thanks....
Congratulations on your dedication and content. Thank you for sharing and growing the Avatar world!

Great video. Just found out about the Deluxe Editions today and I'm definitely looking to pick them up.

The sixth book is basically what i think is an encyclopedia of all the animals in the avatar universe, the book is called “Beasts of the four nations”
I know, I have covered the news of the book being announced.
Good to see you holding up giant books for comparison again :)
I am excited for Deluxe Book 6 where I attempt to hold up the full spine image.
I’m too obsessed with Aang and Katara to not have an equal amount of figures and statues of them

I didn’t even think of that! Yes, more artbooks is now a dream come true for me
Did the sixth book get announced/released yet? Been trying to find an answer and it seems like no?

I haven't ordered any of the art books yet. What's the difference between the first and second edition? I prefer the second's cover much more though
I answer this exact question in this video.

When do you think the other 3 books will be releasing?
It is roughly 4-6 months between releases. Book 2 Spirits is in September, the others have not been solicited yet.
When’s the release date for the standard of this art book?
It is out, deluxe and normal release same day.

Second Edition Special Edition - Review Edition.
Did you get the Korra steel book? I got it. The art is really nice to display. I say more for hardcore fans/collectors
No, way to expensive for what it is IMO. I think the deluxe editions are poor value, but IMO the steelbook sets are even worse.
