    This is a completely different world :)). Don't get me wrong but the time needed to prepare for an interview is abnormal! Especially if you haven't done that before. We (the candidates) are not hiring managers and we usually don't play politics or mind games! Advice for the hiring manager: Keep it simple. And if a candidate isn't perfectly prepared and spares you with those good sounding prepared sentences it's probably a good sign!

    Your interviews tend to focus on how to prepare and answer questions to give the best chance of passing the interview. It would be great if you could make a video about how to "interview the interviewer" i.e. ask or answer questions in such a way to evaluate whether it's a team/company you'll eend up enjoying working fr or not.

    Jeff, fantastic and informative videos!! Thank you for sharing. What are your thoughts on asking the interviewer for their email address when the call is wrapping up? I had a friend do an additional/ final interview requested by the HC. Shortly after the meeting she wanted to send a thank you letter but the recruiter claimed they were not able to share the information but would gladly pass along note. I’d assume that’s true but also perhaps she didn’t perform well and so sharing the email would’ve yielded no gain. As I go into my own rounds I’d like to know if I should ask for their emails or maybe the recruiter might give them to me? Any input is appreciated!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  Год назад +2

      Tom, I prefer that you send the thank you notes through the Recruiter. Not a lot of people mind giving out their email addresses, but some do, and since the ask comes at the end of the interview, it can leave this specific group of people not liking you as much. I know it sounds silly, but its true! Good luck!

    • @jeffhsipepi
      @jeffhsipepi  3 года назад +2

      Chandramouli, this is a really good question. The answer is, it depends. If you are interviewing for a specific role from the beginning of the process at Google, you will interview with the hiring manager. If you interview for a more generic role, like TPM, Software Engineering, you may not speak to a hiring manager until after Hiring Committee and this less of an interview, it is called a fit call. Sometimes, you can go through the interviews for a generic role and have one of these fit calls before Hiring Committee as well. Essentially, if the Hiring Manager interview is not a part of the official process, it is called a fit call and is more informal. But obviously, you need to take it as seriously as a regular interview. Let me know if this is clear. Thanks!
