As a person who maybe is a “sex addict” . I just wanna say . This thing is soo difficult. Bc it’s not something concrete like drugs alcohol, gambling . For those you can know where you are acting out or not. With sex addiction , it is in your head too as well as behaviors .

I can say desire for me was extremely taboo growing up from my parents to asking what are you watching?! when walking in on a scene of the main actors kissing at the end of the movie in a very innocent way to my overall upbringing around anything to do with desire/intimacy was essentially do not interact/hangout/date women unless its for your potential marriage partner. The lack of chizuk (encouragement) to resist, lack of explanation/education, and closed-minded vibes, fear of being "bad"/ostracized for being caught with women is by far my # 1 regret/heavy resentment towards my authority figures as well as my own personal hangups created heavy guilt for being human/negative feelings towards women/desire/intimacy which overall lead to escape into the "web" at the time. In hindsight God has a master plan and I'm working on forgiveness but suffice it to say its very hard and I can't think of anything else that is a bigger cause to make frum from birth men and women go off the derech as well as prevent people wanted to be on the derech due to the taboo around the sexes/desire/intimacy etc. (My humble opinion/perspective 🙏)

How do you suggest men with sex addiction aim to get sober , what're the "steps"?

51.41 the obsession with tznius is it's own avoda zara, yes, so true! But I also agree that a man has an obligation to protect his own eyes, so stop telling women how to dress. Yes, women usually want to be modest naturally, and when their husband is too sick to appreciate their beauty, they might dress badly to show him how other men are looking at the woman that he is rejecting because of his sickness, but no, they do not at all enjoy the me looking at them not at all. Inside their heart they are crying and hurting because the one man whos THEIR husband is completely ignoring them.

51:11 . That is the most sobering , saddest thing that it takes years for that to go away (the sexual filter ) . Makes me not even want to start

This was a good podcast BUT I disagree about the "energetic exchange" when a woman is dressed provocatively. I agree that sometimes it's because her husband is not appreciating her beauty, so she's dressing provocatively outside. Yes that can be true. But to say that "it's hard to believe that it's only doing something for the man and not for the woman" (50.49) when they talk about men " feasting" on the woman's provocative dress, she must be feeling something too. That is false. When an animal feasts on its' prey, the prey doesn't feel any pleasure, in fact, it feels the opposite. Most of the time the provocatively dressed woman does NOT want men to "feast" on her. And it does not "do" anything to her at all. There's no "energetic exchange" at all. That's only in the man's head. He is fooling himself if he really thinks she gets anything out of it. UNLESS she is one of the few women out there who are actually LOOKING for his attention because they want a job (aka prostitute) otherwise, no. The woman is dressed in that only because it's the style or because it's comfortable or whatever with no regard to what the male thinks. Just wanted to put it out there.

One more thing: instead of pushing tznius and pushing women to be tznius, why not push the men to stop looking outside their marriage?? A happy, wife who feels loved doesn't need to be TOLD to dress be'tznius.
