  • When we started working together, Samantha was overwhelmed by all of things she thought she had to do to manage gastroparesis. In this chat, she shares how a simple insight changed her entire experience -- even as her physical symptoms stayed the same. In her words, "Before I was just existing... now I feel like I'm actually living."
My favorite resource for the understanding that Samantha and I discuss in this video is The Little School of Big Change. Find more information here: bit.ly/crystallsbc *

Hi, I'm Crystal. I spent a decade as a Certified Health Coach specializing in gastroparesis management. I wrote books like Eating for Gastroparesis and Living (Well!) with Gastroparesis and helped people build comprehensive management plans and gastroparesis-friendly diet plans.
While this work improved the lives of thousands of people with gastroparesis around the world, it was an outside-in approach that only went so far. People were still suffering from having gastroparesis. I was still suffering from having gastroparesis! What changed everything for me, and has changed everything for clients like Samantha, was a very different approach... one that comes from the inside out.
I really believe that freedom from the suffering around gastroparesis is possible for -- and available to -- everyone... regardless of the severity of symptoms or how long you've had the condition. I hope you'll come along as we explore what the inside-out approach to living WELL with gastroparesis is and where freedom really comes from.

Thank you both for this video!! I am so happy you are well from GP.
I would love to see more of these videos. These are so encouraging, and helpful. If for nothing else that even though bad days and times comes I/we will be okay.
Encouraging videos are so hard to find. I will be 60 in a few months. Not a diabetic, or virus, my Gastroparesis was diagnosed over ten years ago. It was caused from vagus nerve damage.
Thank you both again for being a blessing!

Gwyn, yes, that’s exactly it! Regardless of what comes, we’re okay. It’s so simple but so transformative. I’m so glad you’ll be a part of this conversation ❤️

I’m so glad to see you back! You’ve been my hero since 2015 when I was diagnosed. My daughter found you online and I have all your books and often recommend them to others. Other than diagnosing doctors around me were no help with anything, so you brought me through my bad times. You were the positive light! I went through all the stages of grief in the beginning especially over food. I bought so much to try to help on this journey. I finally realized what I think you are saying here. Life got sweeter!

Faye, you're the sweetest. I'm SO glad that my work was helpful to you and I LOVE that you've more beyond that. Yes, life is so much sweeter - regardless of what is going on - when we hold it all a little more loosely. I'm so glad you're here and joining in this conversation ❤

My 37 year old son just suffered through a lot of stomach issues before they found his gallbladder functioning below 30%. Removed it 2 weeks ago and his symptoms continued. They did a gastric emptying test and diagnosed him with gastroparesis. He has gone from 182 to 140. Most challenging 3 months in all our lives. He feels totally overwhelmed, unable to eat, having trouble sleeping, and none of the doctors seem to give him any hope. As a parent, it is so distressing, but my distress is minimal in comparison to his turmoil.

I'm so sorry your son is struggling right now. I know that initial period very well and have worked with so many people going through it. I just want to say there really is hope... so much, truly, both for improvement in symptoms and for a better experience regardless. I'm glad you're here. I hope that you find some of my other videos and information helpful as you all navigate this condition.
