I would say Rumble is more a QoL feature then a gimmick. For me I dont have a preference either way but I do recall the first time I used a controller with and thought it was pretty cool. I turn it on on my RG350 some times when playing fighting games.

I choose the PocketGo 2. I have already ordered one from the retromimi website, waiting for it's arrival. All of them are nice but once you get yourself a GPD XP Plus, you won't need anymore Powkiddy and related consoles!
I hope the retromimi stock is the upgraded PCB with the two additional screws on the side. I guess it doesn’t really matter because I’m going to just buy the next thing anyway. 🙄 Would love to know more about the upcoming Titan. Any chance we can get a teaser of that Taki?
Just FYI, it's well known that the d-pad and buttons on the GPD XD+ are terrible. Even the d-pad and buttons on my RS-97 Pro are vastly superior. How do I know? I own both.
Great comparison video, *Taki.* I feel the annoying placement of _both_ analog sticks on the RG350 mean I will be looking at the other two to replace my aging *GCW Zero.*
A lot of emulators have a hard time emulating Metroid:Zero Mission for the GBA, and Secret of Mana for the SNES.... LOTS of sound and speed issues.. Do anyone that has any of these handhelds experience these issues? Thanks very much in advance.
Damn those are actually two of the games I want to play the most when I’m looking into a retro handheld. Mostly Metroid zero mission. I didn’t know about this issue and it makes me worried. I was thinking about getting either the RG300 or Bittboy because I mostly just want to play GBA and GB games but I’m considering getting the GKD350h because of having the option to play a little more modern games
I tried Metroid Zero mission. It runs perfectly with no frame skip or stuttering. I only tried the first part but it had no issues, don't know if there will be issues in later levels.
@@DataDragon00 thanks, good to know. My question is how do the analog sticks do in your pocket? Btw I'm probably going to just wait for a more powerful console to come out in the same form factor. Right now I use a modded 3ds for all my on the go emulation and this arguably isn't much of an upgrade
I got the Pocket Go 2 on Retromimi, still waiting on it, but personally I like the overall look of that system in particular. It's still nice to see these comparisons, maybe one day we'll get a new retro handheld with even more features.
I'm on the verge of getting myself a PlayGo despite finding the Pocket Go 2 colorscheme way better than the all black body of the PlayGo. The things that put me on the fence are knowing whether the buttons are clicky (a plus for me, I love the original DS and GBA SP buttons) or "pushy" (like those on the DS lite). I believe in your disassembly of the PlayGo you showed the buttons are on top of a rubber dome, indicating they're the latter, but I'd like to hear how they feel and how much travel there is to them. Also, I know it's been asked quite a bit, but if I ordered a Pocket Go 2 now, is it likely to come with the screen used on the PlayGo or will it have the warm screen? It might not be worth getting one now as the PlayGo comes with a revised PCB to make place for additional screws and such, but... man, the look of the Pocket Go 2!
Hey Taki, just wanted to thank you for your coverage of these devices the past few months. I not for you I don't think I would have been introduced to this world at all, and that would just be a shame. I've got my PocketGo 2/PlayGo on the way right now, and I literally can't stop checking the tracking page lmao.
This was the video that made me get my RG350, am playing a Pokémon ROM hack on it atm, always use it, love it and I actually like the logo logo. Idk how long I've have it now, quite a while
Hey Taki. At 4:40 the video transitions from you talking about the 350H speaker to the shoulder keys. It seems that some of the video footage was lost. Just thought you should know.
Sascha Becker I was confused why you want replace the right stick, its awesome for some classic fps game and you may also use it as dpad when playing shooters game with vertical dispaly
Thanks for this great overview! Are these still your fav picks? Or have you found something better? What about the Android based handheld like the Qi 7s? Have a great new year!
Please mention on RTC support for devices... that is a big question asked commonly for devices like this and those who want to play older Pokemon games on the go again. I know there are rom hacks to remove need for RTC, but those are not desirable.
Unfortunately, there is this constant quest for the perfect retro handheld. These chinese clones are getting better but there is always one thing that makes them a showstopper. Its like they know what we want but purposely sabotage their unit. Then there is the fact that u know the next iteration is going to be out in a few months. So why pull the trigger? I am hoping the pocket answers all our questions and its just a solid product that we have all been waiting to own. I would gladly pay a $100 more to have that guarantee.
My family uses hacked PSPs . Playing GTA with 5 players is super fun. PSP is the way to go for all the emulators. Sony gives you super build quality, excellent controllers, not to mention tons of games from ps1 and PSP.
Thanks a lot for the valuable info Taki! Could you please make a video regarding these devices (or more) in respect to the capability to connect it to a TV. Additionally, multi-player capabilities, as the devices show to have multiple inputs. Thanks again Taki and happy holidays!
When you say at 10:00 "the newest board revision in the play go leveled the playing field", are you referring to the Playgo/Pocketgo 2/Miiyoo line, or specifically the board revision 1.2 in the Playgo? Is the Playgo screen significantly better than the Pocketgo 2 because of the new board revision, or is it still just the color temperature like you mentioned in previous videos?
Hi Taki, thanks for your exhausting handheld reviews and comparisons. I just wanted to ask if there is any difference between the PlayGO and the Powkiddy q80, as they seem to share the same shell and the price is pretty much the same.
The only question i have taki, is whether or not these consoles have a "sleep mode" where i can put it to sleep and easily jump back into a game by just "powering it back on" similar to closing a 3ds or tapping a psp/ps vita power button/slide once
I don't have any of them, but since it was already a feature on the first pocket go, and their firmwares are similar, I suspect they all have sleep mode.
I’m really liking the 350h (sucks about the shoulder buttons, but I can mod that easily myself), but as a developer, I am missing the technical info on how easy it is (now) to add roms to it? Previously sounded like that wasnt very trivial to do at all, just wanna be sure before making a decision :)
wasn’t it a bit of a hassle previously, where it had to go through their frontend? (I am talking about psx and n64 roms) Maybe I misunderstood from your earlier preview?
I currently having the issue of the Pocket Go 2 with the D Pad (the Down button needs harder press), you mention you already had a video about fixing it but I cannot find it, which is it?
I heard the SNES emulator is now fixed on the 350h in the latest December firmware update. Is this the case? Either way, I've just bought one and am looking forward to giving it a spin
@Taki Udon Hi, I recently started looking into retro handhelds and have been watching a ton of your videos on them lately. As someone who has never owned one of these devices and doesn't have a ROM collection already on my cpu. Which one would you suggest to a first time user? Which one is easiest to use, get ROMS & emulators onto? I know a lot of people are saying it's simple and easy, and I'm sure it is once you have the knowledge. But all of this seems a bit overwhelming to me atm. Hopefully I can get some sound advice on which one to get as my first ever retro handheld. Thank you.
“The Home Depot” logo, reflected on the PlayGo screen, in the last pic on the AliExpress link is totally classy! No need to take a minute, to take the promo shots of the product... 😂 I wonder if they took that much time, building it, and how long it’ll last. At least we know where they got the parts... 🧐
I got mine. But in Aliexpress anounce photos, the seller put a device branded like "PlayGO" and I bought like this. But it arrives today and I recevied one with "Miyoo Max" logo. 🤔 There's some diference? or is It the same?
PlayGo is the official brand of this device in the same way that Miyoo is in China. Pocket Go got there name on these consoles by doing large orders. Anyone could if they wanted.
Are you able to attach external controllers and video output with the GKD350H? Just thinking of getting a Neo Geo X dock and using one of these devices for replacing the really bad Neo X handheld
I have a question! Im new to emulation / handhelds. And i have an rg350 coming in the mail. Do i need a vpn to download Roms? Or is it not that big of deal realistically downloading them without one? Any feedback would be awesome! Love your info and videos you helped me decide to purchace! Happy holendayze!
I have never used a VPN to download roms. Visit the RG350 reddit page for info you can find links in the threads to a PS1 download for the roms I dont have it off hand. A couple of tips, consider getting an additional 128 GB micro SD, if you dont have one already they are pretty cheap, doesnt have to be 128 any size of 32 or larger will do. This will allow you to keep the original TF card and internal as they are unless you need to upgrade the firmware. After that copy all of the TF card folders to your new SD card. Then start adding additional ROMs to the new TF card. Keep the original safe just in case you need to rollback. Another note, if you buy or have an additional SD card make sure it is formatted to fat32 before you copy anything on to it. One other thing I have found really useful is what folders related to which emulator: www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/ds7gaf/rg350_directories_for_the_roms_and_the_apps_you/

If you're going to invest in emulation, maybe PS Vita is a better choice than GPD XD+. You get native support of PS1, PSP and PS Vita games.
@Nate Kong
I'll keep that in mind.
@@anesehaddad8132uh....what? Read my comment again.
Just FYI, it's well known that the d-pad and buttons on the GPD XD+ are terrible. Even the d-pad and buttons on my RS-97 Pro are vastly superior. How do I know? I own both.
Just a heads-up, awkward jump at @4:42 seems like something's missing in the transition.
As always, dope content! Loving your new lighting. Keep up the great work dude.
Dope is not a word you idiot.
Great comparison video, *Taki.*
I feel the annoying placement of _both_ analog sticks on the RG350 mean I will be looking at the other two to replace my aging *GCW Zero.*
That PlayGo handheld is so nice, I'm gonna buy it definitely :) thumbs up for You, Taki! Cool review and comparison.
Thank you for the video. Helped me to finally settle on which one to order.
(And, naturally, I used your link)
@@joebaker1 Which did you choose in the end?
@@wrathpsp The Game Kiddy 350H
It arrived after 2 or 3 weeks and I have been very pleased with it so far 😁
@@joebaker1 How's the dpad? The one in the Playgo isn't the best, as much as I love that lil machine.
Played metroid zero mission on GPD XD, worked great.
Came here rooting for the RG350 left liking the PlayGo more. I just really enjoy the overall look, also I like how compact it is.
Right on David. Rg350 reigns supreme!
Another great review Taki
Hey Taki, just wanted to thank you for your coverage of these devices the past few months. I not for you I don't think I would have been introduced to this world at all, and that would just be a shame. I've got my PocketGo 2/PlayGo on the way right now, and I literally can't stop checking the tracking page lmao.
Ship faster!
Man, I love your videos so much
Thanks for the kind words!
Good review! In the comparisons I would have enjoyed more of a games playable, & responsiveness thereof.
This was the video that made me get my RG350, am playing a Pokémon ROM hack on it atm, always use it, love it and I actually like the logo logo. Idk how long I've have it now, quite a while
Awesome video Taki! I have a question though..what is the difference between the black play go and the white pocket go?
Hey Taki. At 4:40 the video transitions from you talking about the 350H speaker to the shoulder keys. It seems that some of the video footage was lost. Just thought you should know.
I was so I needed to fill
Should I get one of these or a Nintendo DS for emulation?
Can you post the source for the rg350 right stick mods? Looking for a way to either replace it or cover it up
Sascha Becker I was confused why you want replace the right stick, its awesome for some classic fps game and you may also use it as dpad when playing shooters game with vertical dispaly
@@htao7060 I mostly play GBA games. So this stick is pretty useless for me
Thank you for the size comparison! :3
Very nice comparison, thank you. I'm going with GKD350H and PG2, hard to decide which one takes the cake, sort of a Sophie's choice.
Wonder how the Odroid Go Advance is going to stack up to these options?
Can you link any of these together for multiplayer?
My family uses hacked PSPs . Playing GTA with 5 players is super fun. PSP is the way to go for all the emulators. Sony gives you super build quality, excellent controllers, not to mention tons of games from ps1 and PSP.
Thanks for the comparison
Thanks a lot for the valuable info Taki!
Could you please make a video regarding these devices (or more) in respect to the capability to connect it to a TV. Additionally, multi-player capabilities, as the devices show to have multiple inputs.
Thanks again Taki and happy holidays!
As it stands, only the RG350 supports multiple controllers with the second USB slot.
Maybe the right stick on the 350 would be less intrusive as a Gamecube style C-stick nub? I dunno
Taki, which mini retro handheld, has the best interactive menus? Is there a mini handheld that has cover art shown for the games?
Have you heard anything else about the GKD350H Aluminum version? That's the one I want.
It's exactly as I covered in the PlayGo video.
Hi Taki, thanks for your exhausting handheld reviews and comparisons. I just wanted to ask if there is any difference between the PlayGO and the Powkiddy q80, as they seem to share the same shell and the price is pretty much the same.
PowKiddy is just a reseller
@@TakiUdon Thanks :)
Why didn't you compare the Pocket Go 2 in this one? Was it not worth the comparison? I got one so I hope it was a good decision :c
Shivraj Morzaria The PocketGo is 99% identical to the PlayGo
Got myself the pocket go 2. Best decision i can think of, great device.
The only question i have taki, is whether or not these consoles have a "sleep mode"
where i can put it to sleep and easily jump back into a game by just "powering it back on" similar to closing a 3ds or tapping a psp/ps vita power button/slide once
I don't have any of them, but since it was already a feature on the first pocket go, and their firmwares are similar, I suspect they all have sleep mode.
I just bought the RG 350 and it does not. Which was kind of shocking. I've heard people are working on it, but it's not in as of me typing this.
Merry Christmas @Taki Udon
4:42 bit of a weird transition there? Talking about the speaker to suddenly talking about lack of shoulder buttons. Editing mistake?
Like who cares about editing mistakes!😅
Lismo lIKe WhO cArES aBouT EDitiNG mISTaKes!
Thank you Taki for all the great videos you made on these devices.
YES..! The LOGO on the 350 is complete 'Mung-Bean'. Thanks 4 calling it
I’m really liking the 350h (sucks about the shoulder buttons, but I can mod that easily myself), but as a developer, I am missing the technical info on how easy it is (now) to add roms to it? Previously sounded like that wasnt very trivial to do at all, just wanna be sure before making a decision :)
Adding ROMs is literally just putting ROMs on an SD card.
wasn’t it a bit of a hassle previously, where it had to go through their frontend? (I am talking about psx and n64 roms) Maybe I misunderstood from your earlier preview?
I currently having the issue of the Pocket Go 2 with the D Pad (the Down button needs harder press), you mention you already had a video about fixing it but I cannot find it, which is it?
Adding switches to the GKD350H would be wild, I have no idea how you could do it, maybe just glue them to the outside of the case lmao.
I heard the SNES emulator is now fixed on the 350h in the latest December firmware update. Is this the case? Either way, I've just bought one and am looking forward to giving it a spin
@Taki Udon
Hi, I recently started looking into retro handhelds and have been watching a ton of your videos on them lately.
Thank you.
How does N64 run on the Play Go? Also is it possible to run Dreamcast or Sega Saturn?
Terribly.
No.
This is the one I've been wanting
“The Home Depot” logo, reflected on the PlayGo screen, in the last pic on the AliExpress link is totally classy!
No need to take a minute, to take the promo shots of the product... 😂 I wonder if they took that much time, building it, and how long it’ll last.
At least we know where they got the parts... 🧐
Any thoughts on the upcoming Odroid Go Advance? Specs wise it's a beast, but it seems quite bulky from the preview videos
Do these handhelds come with installed emulators and game roms? If so which one has the most out of the box? Can't decide on which one to get.
Always emulators, not so often real ROMs. I wouldn't get one of these devices just because it has ROMs on it.
Play Go is rebranded Pocket Go 2, right?
It's the official brand of the device.
Taki Udon does this mean my pre order of the pocket go 2 which shipped today should actually be the Play GO?
@@danangdevils nope, it will be Pocket Go
Taki Udon ohhhhh, so it’ll have the worse screen I’ve seen you talking about in previous vids?
I got mine. But in Aliexpress anounce photos, the seller put a device branded like "PlayGO" and I bought like this. But it arrives today and I recevied one with "Miyoo Max" logo. 🤔 There's some diference? or is It the same?
Is the "PlayGo" just the "New Pocket Go" but updated or are they just completely different.
PlayGo is the official brand of this device in the same way that Miyoo is in China. Pocket Go got there name on these consoles by doing large orders. Anyone could if they wanted.
need to know if the RG350 can allow a 4 port hub for 4 person gameplay while output to TV!! thx ;)
i think the RG350' s design, quality & community is better. and the right stick is great for fps game and vertical dispayed arcade game
This is the video I needed
Are you able to attach external controllers and video output with the GKD350H? Just thinking of getting a Neo Geo X dock and using one of these devices for replacing the really bad Neo X handheld
Can you use google playstore on on the PlayGo ? Looking for a small android handled with good battery.
Get the GPD XD
Is still worth buying the PlayGo or waiting for new consoles in the same price range?
are you able to install other emu's on these consoles ?
One other thing I have found really useful is what folders related to which emulator: www.reddit.com/r/SBCGaming/comments/ds7gaf/rg350_directories_for_the_roms_and_the_apps_you/
Good job Taki! Thank you ;)
Is there a skip in content at 4:42?
4:41 think you may have edited too much out
I am confused so which one is the best? Which one is your choice for best one overall if you had to pick
