try seafood pasta salad. It's usually seafood with the colorful swirly noodles (cant think of the name at the moment) it's usually seasoned with salad dressing like a zesty Italian or creamy Italian or ranch. You put veggies like cucumbers, broccoli, tomatoes etc i'm sure you can make this vegan. it's a cold salad
That sounds yum!!! I'll still stick to something like hearts of palm haha!! Sometimes natural plant based products tend to make better animal product substitutes strangely
If the crunchyness wS throwing it off, maybe try it in a cooked recipe, like a vegan crab rangoon or vegan crab cakes. Cooking might soften it, but unsure what to say about the flavor. Mary's test kitchen put out a crab rang on video a little while back featuring grated firm tofu, but I could see this product potentially also working.
You can, and many people do. It changes the texture when you freeze, thaw completely, and press the water out. (I use a tofu press.) You end up with a "meatier" chewier texture, for example if you want to make "chicken" nuggets, etc. Also results in tofu that really soaks up sauces and marinades well.
imitation crab is called imitation because the USDA says that if it's not 100% crab then they have to modify the product name. Some imitation crab companies DO put crab in that imitation crab product, which for me as having a severe shellfish allergy, have to keep telling people again and again that I can't eat it. Check the labels on some of those mainstream "imitation" crab and you can see that crab and crab flavoring is in the product.
ya there's crab in it but it must be a very small amount! haha which is why i want there to be a vegan alternative and it can't be difficult?? can it?? LOL
Imitation crab is usually made from pulverized fish (typically pollock), eggs, starch, sugar and a long list of small things like flavorings, colors, emulsifiers, flavors and thinkers.
Got me guessing if I should or shouldn’t try imitation vegan crab processed meat or is it ingredients like hot soft of the sea or I don’t know. I’m not sure what to think. I’m guessing I can buy some and maybe see for myself if it’s hot dog of the sea. Let me guess. Not for sure I want to try this.
I decided, since I really don't like the fake, processed stuff, that I would only try the faux meats for items I used to eat "before vegan" days. So I'm not into the fake fishy stuff, def not the fake ham, and pretty rarely the burgers. I do like chicken type, so that's where I make my compromise on and eat occasionally. Oh and a vegan dog on the grill sometimes. Thanks for being our guinea pig Rose!
May I please suggest that you clean your camera lens before filming. I've noticed blurry spots from a dirty lens in several recent videos, and while it's not the biggest deal, it can be pretty distracting while watching the video. No hate, I love your content!
I never understood why imitation crab is imitation crab. It tastes and feels nothing like crab. I remember trying a seafood dip a decade ago and thinking this tastes like IC. Turns out the base was pollock and that's what IC is made of... And all I can think is...why???
So could someone with a shellfish or fish allergy at all eat this vegan crab meat? I wanna cook for my family but some of them have really strong reactions and I don’t want to send anyone to the hospital lmao
Have you tried Save The Sea products. We are gonna do an episode on them soon. I’ve never liked sea food before I was vegan (24 years now 🤟🏽life time ago) but some of their products are really good. ❤️
Imitation crab is really fish, so hopefully what you're eating is something coming from soybeans or wheat gluten like some sort of vegan protein plant protein. 😊🙏🏼👍🏽🧡

It is worth noting red meat is a group 1 carcinogen while almost all food additives are not.
"Hotdog of the Sea" LOL :D
it's too true LOL
Make a crab cake, flour, seaweed, old bay seasoning
My mom usually use the vegan “crab meat” into her soups like the vegan shark fin soup.
Yes imitation crab meat in stores is made of like a White fish. So it's still meat, just a more common fish rather than actual crab.

Your food always looks delicious 😭💔
You should try some crab toast.
Imitation crab is actually white fish. I use to be a pescatarian before going vegan. I been trying to find a imitation vegan crab.

you could make vegan crab rangoons or crab dip!

How did you forget about crab puffs? As I remember imitation crab doesn't have much taste on it's own.
i don't know if i've ever had crab puffs..... LOL
