Thx for the feedback- it’s on my list for this weekend to celebrate English victory over India at Headingley in cricket…. Hopefully! Cricket n French dip - yumm!
Dear Burger Dude, I confess, I obsessively watch your content, with no intention of making anything! Iam here, as a food voyeur! I am on a restrictive diet for my health, and can't indulge, but I enjoy your creations, and eat with my eyes! Thank you for your Vegan genius!
I'm so glad I found your channel. You're like a mix of food wishes and binging with babish, but better. Like way better. And also vegan so WAY WAY better lol 😂 love it!
This sandwich looks genuinely delicious but as a long time listener first time caller it's really cool to see how much your video making style has grown. The kindness and joy with food has always been there but the newer videos are so much more energetic and really fun - I feel like I got a peek into the origin story today.
Absolutely delicious! I made a few adjustments... Subbed wine for red wine vinegar (not at all the same but it's what I had on hand). Subbed 1/2 an onion for the shallot and increased sauteed onions from 1 to 1.5 (you can never have enough onions!). No mushroom seasoning or steak sauce so just added a couple of tsp of Beef Better Than Bouillon. We used ciabatta rolls and those were wonderful but I'm looking forward to trying the French Baguette next time. I had made a cheez sauce a couple of days ago so we poured that on top. It's a bit of a process but you could do some of your prep work a day ahead and save yourself some time (like cutting onions and garlic). It's also versatile so I'd say not to stress if you're missing an ingredient or 2. Super easy and there should be enough for 6 sandwiches on the ciabatta rolls... maybe 4 on a hoagie size roll? I'll definitely be making this again. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
Worcestershire sauce. As a Brit (where it originates) it's pronounced Wustersher sauce.. Wust-er-sher Whenever you see places in the UK end in shire it's pronounced sher. You are welcome. Great recipe by the way I'm about to make it for lunch
You read my mind. I was just thinking how much I missed french dip sandwiches. It was my go to order at diners. Can't wait to make this. Ranch Markets have cheap soy curls if you have one nearby.
As a British person, your inability to pronounce Worcestershire sauce is so adorable to me, haha. Also as a British person, I wish they had more of this kinda food in the UK, all your food looks excellent
I can't wait to try this I had The original before I went vegan wild oats in Bellingham Washington has the best vegan french dip Tastes exactly like the Original!!!
Looks great! I made these but a lazy way with VegHammer meat slices and just butter and no-beef broth cubes. I am stoked to try this exact recipe with the soy curls looks so good. I’m gunna put some Field Roast Cream Original Chao cheez slices on them 😃
I tried doing that and I found that it didn't really do too much, especially since you need to squeeze them out. And then on top of that, they made the broth taste kinda weird so I could't reuse it!
Tip from a Brit, just call it wooster sauce like we do, we don't bother with the whole worcestershire (pronounced "woostasher" ) thing. Great recipe... added to my vegetarian cooking list.👍👍👍👍
I tried it and it didn’t make a big difference since you squeeze em out. It also made the broth taste kinda weird so you can’t reuse it. They absorb plenty of flavor when you cook em tho 👍🏼
I just made this tonight but used Lauren Toyota's seitan sliced thin with a mandoline for the meat(I had a lot of it and it's seriously amazing on it's own, figured what the hell) and it was so damn good. The au jus and onions were both killer. It's such a rich and decadent sandwich. Thanks for putting this one together.
Soy curls rock and so do you. It’s always an awesome day when that 12 lb bag of Butler heaven arrives at the door. Loved the partial face reveal in your range top reflection! 👍
Just found your channel. I am really exited to try this. I have two questions - 1. Whats in the mushroom seasoning 2. And wjats in the steak sauce. I am not from the US so getting those is not an option + i never had one of those sandwitches, have no idea what they taste like but i am really exited about them

@@TheeBurgerDude after making these i can report back that they are amazing! As i said, never had one but i will definately come back to this recipe a few times :)
never knew this sandwich existed so i decided to make it (non-vegan, sorry, i just really like your channel so i watch!) and my brother and dad loved it. it was so good i was gonna die. DEFINITELY making it again
I would love to get the better than bouillon, but here in Germany you have to pay 29 € for it (at least on amazon) you know any place that ships its stuff to Germany and is cheaper?
potential suggestion: next time you rehydrate the soy curls don't just use plain water. I would've used the non beef broth. That way the soy curls soak up all of that flavor. I've never used soy curls but when I'm making tvp burgers, I tend to make a broth first then pour it over the dried tvp and let it soak it up.
I did, they don’t really absorb that much especially since you squeeze them out. And the broth gets a weird soy curl taste so you can’t reuse it. It def works with TVP tho!
Not in my opinion, when I've done this since you squeeze most of it out, and then the broth that you've extracted has kind of a funky taste. I suppose you could maybe skip squeezing it out though? I might have to experiment.
You guys have such awful trouble with pronouncing "worstershire" don't you?? This may help " wuh-stur-shur" !! No offence intended , please don't take this comment as an insult, I just wanted to help you say it without problems xxx
Just made this and OMG!!!! Everything is so damn perfect this instantly became a family fav. Even my vegan food skeptic boyfriend devoured it!!
HECK YES! Love to hear that!

LOVE soy curls, glad you have discovered them too recently as I love all of your recipes, super excited to see what else you do with then!
This was my favorite food before I started trying to cut meat from my diet! Thank you sssooo much for making this and posting this MASTERPIECE!

I finally aquired the ingredient for this and made it tonight. So freaking good. Thanks.
Heck yes, that rules! Glad you dug it!

Another one! Thank you, Burger Daddy!
Yay, soy curls! I buy 12# boxes at a time from butler foods so I am always looking for new things to make! Thank you!
This was a childhood favorite for me. Gonna have to give it a go, cheers
Looks so good can't wait to make this

I recently remembered eating at Roy Rogers as a lad and now a vegan roast beef dip sandwich. Mm
Yummmm
Time for french dip. ❤️
Wurst-a-sure ... like New Hampshire.
Wuss-der-sher. - Myself, an Englishman
The sauce which can’t be pronounced.
as someone from the 603, nobody pronounces that right either, but that's the closest I've seen :D

Yup, I like dipping my sandwich over it being pre-dipped as well. Nice foodie fact there too Mr. Dude. 👍
This is genious!!! You always come up with some amazing sandwiches! Can't wait to try this one!!😋
Wow, I learned something new and delicious today!!
can you rehydrate the soy curls with broth for more meaty flavor?
I tried it and it didn’t make a big difference since you squeeze em out. It also made the broth taste kinda weird so you can’t reuse it. They absorb plenty of flavor when you cook em tho 👍🏼
I've never tried soy curls before but I definitely need to try this!
Looks bomb - definitely gonna make this! In Britain they pronounce Worcestershire as worse-ter-sher. I use to have trouble saying it too. 😃
Yes
Holy Vegan Burgerrony... That's what I call a perfect sandwich presentation :)
I'm jealous of your past self too! Looks super delicious!

Thanks! That’s definitely on the list!
Keep it up man!
Hey from a UK follower, love your videos! Worcestershire sauce is pronounced "wuster-sher" if that helps 🙂

Omg You are amazing 👑
So glad I found you channel.. That sandwich looks like it’s slaps!😂 💚
Currently isolating due to you know what, the videos are keeping me entertained :)
Also I'm a brit and can teach you how to say Worcestershire
😂😂😂
It's like Woo-ster-sheer ... kinda. OK it's not as easy to explain as I thought it would be...
I've heard most Brits just call it "Wooster Sauce."
@@englishatheart This is true
where do you find the no beef base? I always use the vegetable better than bouillon but that one looks cool!
I can only find it on amazon these days! It’s great 👍🏼

Where did you find the no beef broth? I tried looking for it a few weeks ago and can't find it at any grocery stores in Austin, TX. Thanks!
Amazon
Yeah I have only seen it on Amazon unfortunately
Awesome thanks! Great video. I look forward to making this recipe in the upcoming weeks✌️
Ask your grocer if they will order some for you
Whole food sells it.
Ngl your videos are addicting to watch not In the bad way
This looks delicious!
Dude, i've been to California twice (i'm from Spain) and that wine is the one i had there both times! How can i forget Menage a trois?

Mmmmmm I bet it would be even more next level with your cheese sauce 🧀
this is AMAZING
How did you make the beefless broth bc it was a paste? Was it 1 tbsp to 1 cupb water?
You are a godsend
I would love to get the better than bouillon, but here in Germany you have to pay 29 € for it (at least on amazon) you know any place that ships its stuff to Germany and is cheaper?
Guess who got soy curls and beef broth! Deciding between a Philly Cheese and a French Dip is difficult...
potential suggestion: next time you rehydrate the soy curls don't just use plain water. I would've used the non beef broth. That way the soy curls soak up all of that flavor. Could you do an Italian sub? I miss those oh so much.
I have a Vegan Grinder video from a few months back. Similar!
Couldn't you soak/rehydrate the soy curls in the broth, instead of the water, to help impart more flavor?
Not in my opinion, when I've done this since you squeeze most of it out, and then the broth that you've extracted has kind of a funky taste. I suppose you could maybe skip squeezing it out though? I might have to experiment.
ohmygodddd delicious..
Can you rehydrate the soy curls in the au jus, or with extra stock, or does it not really make a difference?
I found it didn’t make a difference since you squeeze most of the water out. Plus it makes the stock taste weird so you can’t reuse it!
👏👏👏👏👏🔥🍔🍟🍔💥💥💜YUMMO
If this is the case, why do you prefer wood cutting board over plastic or some other material? Plastic ones are dishwasher safe lol
Could have also added vegan swiss or provolone!
Random questions but I’m curious: how old are you, how long have you been vegan, are you married or have children? Love your content ❤️😎
43, 3 years and married but no children :) thanks!
Happily married?? Asking for a friend
What about using Jackfruit?
Should probably be good too!
Make sure there’s no horse in the horseradish

These recipes are amazing but depressing as I’m highly sensitive to gluten. & most gluten free bread sucks 😫
I had to call it wort sauce cos I couldn’t pronounce it 😂
Just call it wooster. Problem solved.

Ok but how do you make that sandwich?
I’m sorry? What do you mean?
can i be your neighbour

Pre-dipped French Dip sounds like irredeemable blasphemy.
