Helen is indeed an intelligent woman and quite brave to dedicate her life in the way she has.
It is important to say however that it doesn't require a formidable intelligence or a mastery of logic to distinguish between the facts and lies of gender ideology. The difficulty is understanding how these ideals came to be so deeply embedded in our institutions that it now requires bravery to tell such basic truths.

It should be common sense that children are too young can't understand the implications of these kind of life altering decisions. It's extremely rare that a female will be given an hysterectomy before the age of 25 because their brain has not fully matured yet and they may change their mind as they mature and want biological children. It's the reason we have laws in place to protect children from sexual exploitation etc.. If an underage child consents to having sex with an adult it's still against the law because they just aren't old enough to truly understand what they are consenting to or the harm it will cause or the psychological impact.
Children with gender dysphoria rarely have that by themselves. They also tend to have a lot of other psychological disorders such as eating disorders, autism, depression and often a history of self-harm threats or attempts at suicide. There's a high rate of comorbid psychiatric conditions. cognitive maturity does not occur until the mid-20s and minds change before the age of cognitive maturity and especially if an individual has an autism spectrum condition or some other situation that might delay uh brain maturity that age of maturity might even be later
Most gender dysphoria resolves. If you a give a pre-pubescence or teenager puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones it essentially halts the development of that adolescent on multiple levels.. physiologically, socially, perhaps intellectually. Your halting the natural process of development. So let's say you start a kid at age 14, two years later you're essentially still dealing with a 14-year old. All of their peers have advanced and having more complex interactions and they're going through puberty. They're experiencing all the things that occur during puberty and that process seems to resolve most gender dysphoria. You are halting the process that actually leads to resolution. If you're halting a child's development how are they supposed to decide?
Kids who go on cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers have a high likelihood of it causing permanent infertility, problems with brain structure( for males in particular testosterone is very important for normal male brain development) increase in hemoglobin and hematocrit to red blood cells and cardiovascular health Puberty adolescence is the time for maximum bone density development During puberty humans put on more than 50 percent of the bone density so there's circuitry falls in bone mineral density and increased risk of things like osteoporosis. Puberty is arguably and the most significant developmental time for a human in terms of physical and psychosocial development and sexual maturity.. A person essentially figures out who they are and how they fit into being a human. It's the transition from childhood to adulthood. It couldn't be more important in terms of an individual's long-term physical and mental health. If you halt that process the child will have a lack of socio sexual development and sexual development as a whole. It will affect their ability to have sexual gratification and orgasm, essentially immature genitalia. A micro penis.
There was a transwoman called Brianna who's 22, who transitioned young on an interview the other day who said doctors told her they could make her exactly like a biological female with a vagina just like one. She now has no sex drive and unable to have intercourse.
There is differences between men and women on biochemical and cellular levels. That's why so many trans people have negative health complications from taking cross hormones at the levels that isn't what their body is built for. Every single cell of our body that has a nucleus has either an X X or an X Y chromosome in it and each cell behaves according to its complement of sex chromosomes independently of hormones. There's a host of biological and sex specific differences. It's not like we're all made up of ambivalent cells who will respond simply according to the bath of hormone that you put them in, The way that our DNA expresses itself is also sex dependent in terms of what genes are turned on and turned off. if you take a male or female hormone and put it into the opposite gender physiology at access levels it should be no surprise bad things are going to happen. For example. a woman who takes testosterone is at a much higher increase and risk of heart disease. A man who takes estrogen , after about five years or so his risk of developing blood clots and strokes are two to three times the rate of women and men not taking test estrogen. X X and X Y cells are different and they respond differently to hormones. An adult who is aware of the risks can understand fully but still make an informed decision, a child cannot.
We know there are only two sexes in humans because there are only two possible sex cells (sperm or egg). No one can produce both. Human males are those whose sexual anatomy is organized around the production (and delivery) of sperm. Human females are those whose sexual anatomy is organized around the production of eggs. There are no other possible sex cells in existence. The sex of an organism is defined and identified by the way in which it is organized for sexual reproduction. Natural organization is the defining feature of an organism,. The various parts … are organized to cooperatively interact for the welfare of the entity as a whole. they are all characterized by the integrated function of parts for the sake of the whole. Male and female organisms have different parts that are functionally integrated for the sake of their whole, and for the sake of a larger whole-their sexual union and reproduction. Our sexual organization begins with our DNA and development in the womb, and that sex differences manifest themselves in many bodily systems and organs, all the way down to the molecular level. Our physical organization for one of two functions in reproduction shapes us organically, from the beginning of life, at every level of our being. Cosmetic surgery and cross-sex hormones can’t change us into the opposite sex. They can affect appearances. They can stunt or damage some outward expressions of our reproductive organization. But they can’t transform it. There can’t turn us from one sex into the other.

When Helen read the part where there was 2 parents that have degrees in gender studies (5:54), then that told me that those parents are Trans activists. Gender Studies is clearly a useless degree. You may as well get a degree in the study of Unicorn Genders, especially since it would be just as useful. Look when these Non Binary and Gender Fluid individuals can change their gender identity from day to day, as well as change their pronouns whenever they want. Then those individuals are detrimental to any society. Especially when those individuals in the UK can have someone charge, or fined for not using a Non Binary or Gender Fluid individuals pronouns du jour. When any individual is allowed to change their pronouns with the wind, then that automatically introduces anarchy and chaos to any society, period.

    • @OfficialRogue
      @OfficialRogue 8 месяцев назад +1

@@connor5669 Nah. Biology dictates your sex. Being or becoming the other sex isn't something you can "feel" about yourself. Thinking you are the other sex is just that: a false belief that is dangerous to reinforce... If you "feel" like a woman, that's not you being an actual woman, that's you thinking you are what your idea of a woman is (often a caricatural projection/image of it).
Women can act, dress and do everything seen as conventionally "male", that still doesn't make them men, they're still women; you could qualify them as masculine etc. and that's fine. Same for men. So for a man to say he "feels like a woman" doesn't even make any sense, whatever he feels isn't a woman's feeling, it's a man's feeling of what he thinks a woman feels like. There's no bypassing biology. Sex is a truth present down to every cell.
The most that should be recognized are possible (very rare) cases of gender dysphoria, and even for that, transitioning has no solid scientific evidence to support that it helps. On an anecdotal scale it may help some (even then, often only from the initial euphoria from such radical changes), it still should never be done on minors, especially given the large percentage of those that grow out of these beliefs (shouldn't even be done before ~25 but that's their choice at least).
Most of the current trans "movement" stems from that social contagion/neo-religion aspect, and very few of them legitimately even experience gender dysphoria (the actual DSM disorder), but rather fall into these beliefs like people join/are born into religions...
Implanting these beliefs in vulnerable minds should be a crime, especially when those people are often gay but end up believing they're the other sex and get sterilized for it... disgusting cult behavior.

You're right. It's hyperindividualism in which children are treated like ahistoric, all-knowing beings. But what I find interesting is that these parents aren't exactly leaving it all up to their children. As Helen said, these parents wouldnt accept it if the child asserted they are black if they're not. So while this seems like parents are taking a hands off approach, they really aren't. They've just narrowed which identities are acceptable. For them, changing gender is ok. Other aspects of identity (e.g., race, ethnicity, age, disability) are off limits. What's strange is if gender is socially constructed, surely race is. None of it makes logical sense. But it's a social shift. It's similar to other times in history, like the Salem Witch events, in which society completely believed a group of young girls and chaos ensued. The trans fad is different in content today but the process is the same as it always was.

Just because a child doesn’t conform to the gender stereotypes of their era or culture, it doesn’t mean they should transition into the opposite sex.
When I was six, I wanted to be boy. I wore my hair short, hated wearing dresses or playing with dolls and called myself Gary,(after the school bully).
When I saw the Cecil B DeMille movie “Samson and Delilah” I grew my hair as long as possible and renamed myself after my biblical hero, hoping to acquire his strength.
What I was actually rebelling against was how women and girls were always portrayed as weak and helpless, and in need of rescuing. Boys toys were more intelligent than girls toys and their clothing was usually more comfortable.
Thank goodness this was back in the 1970’s - today they probably would put me under the knife and pump me full of hormones !

One of the great psychological questions I'd like to see studied is what actually is going on with these parents of "trans children". Something is seriously going on there. Surely a mix of motives and dysfunctions but also surely there's a theme.

I'm 71 and I still working on who my true self is. My 84 year old friend says: "oh, you're so young" lol. It's the parent's job to teach them they're a boy or girl. To support them if they have physical or mental developmental issues. To support them whatever their sexuality is (heterosexual or LGB). To keep their body healthy and as it was born physically, with minimal interventions until they are adults.

Are these accounts even true? There are two possibilities. (1) The authors have made up these case studies. (2) The parents of these children used their own children as pawns to express their own transgender or "queer" ideologies. This is the exact equivalent of parents forcing their kids to be of a certain religion.)... The written or transcribed expressions of both the kids and parents are too perfectly in tune with transgender ideology to be believable. The kids express themselves as if they are quoting academic texts. The parents express themselves as if they are quoting academic texts. The book ('The Transgender Child') itself seems like a vehicle for the expression of certain queer ideologies, rather than a representation of genuine case studies.

He was then obsessed with trains, he run round the house huffing and puffing just like a steam train including the woo woo whistles.
He wore a Thomas the tank outfit for years sometimes even sleeping in it, eventually he moved on from being train mad into transformers and spent hours yet again using and developing his imagination playing with them.
Like all children if they are left to develop while being loved and supported they move on until they grow up.
He’s now an apprentice engineer, all that freedom to play, learn and be inquisitive on how things work had led him to a career he enjoys and is interested in.
Above all he’s a kind, empathetic compassionate critical thinking man, he believes they are out of order and need to leave the kids alone to be innocent kids.

In pre school / kinder garten it petered out somewhat, she told me that the kids were ok in the group, did not taunt him, have not seen her for a while, last time she and her son -looking healthy and well - just walked by and greeted me, glad they handled it well (in Europe, Switzerland)

The infamous low-budget filmmaker Ed Wood was heterosexual, but inclined to transvestitism. It turns out that his parents really wanted to have a girl child, but when they had a boy, they would dress him in girl's clothes to compensate for his not being a girl. So Ed learned to associate wearing female's clothing with being loved, affirmed and appreciated, which is why he continued to do it in adulthood. I can't help but wonder, then, how many cases of transsexuality represent a similar family dynamic, just to a far greater extreme.

Thank god for Helen Joyce, I’m gay, and have known trans women since the 80’s. There was no delusion then, they were accepted in our small city for being loving people, not for who they demanded to be seen as. One dressed as a girl sine childhood, his mother encouraged it, after the age of 30 the transgender stopped. If he had what’s available today his life would be in a miserable state, irreversible damage would have been done. How can a child comprehend the consequences of their medical decisions, they would eat cereal every meal if they could thinking it was the best thing in the world how could it be wrong. They shouldn’t be deciding medical decisions, has the world gone mad.

My mother teaches pre-school and many of the boys love to play in dresses. Years onward they are always well developed older boys. There is some studies that say feminine dress and play correlates with homosexuality but the rest are the typical "normal" adult. The thing is if 30 years ago they took the girls who played with "boy" toys and dressed as such, they would trans an entire generation. Growing up in the 90's "girls rule" era is girls could do anything boys can plus more. Naturally girls do tend organically go towards playing "house" and liking dolls. This is without gender roles. However my young daughter I will raise offering any toys and see what she likes for preference not for gender. It is scary having a young child with this insanity. You have to wonder how the parents were raised. If they look at their childhood of some type of trauma they do not want to recreate, or are just that brainwashed by activists. Either way they should not be parents. By the way MANY times I wanted to be a boy through childhood. Boys have responsibility, wealth, and things I wanted. I did not want to have to wait for some sucker to ask me to prom and decide to marry me. I also often wondered what I would look like as a boy. I never thought I was transgender ever. I am a normal woman thank god, I would make a pretty ugly boy.

Re: Helen's "Train boy". Anyone else going all Freudian on this? Was it a very quick labour?
On a more serious note; we all have bits we designate male and female - but that's psychological associations and moves from the personal to the social. We' can gestalt (for the want of a better word) these parts as a dialectic, and move from each position - that's fluidity; and a way we can explain our experiential selves to ourself and others - as in "I feel"! This is part of adult agency. We can relate to 'others' and 'objects', as representatives in part, but not become them; we relate to them. Gender, which get specific and very real at puberty, brings in the physical reality and innate social responsibilities of adult life, and integrations of emotions and the emotional self. Imo, modern media is playing it's part as a distorted mirror, and awareness of image and self are up for the propagandist.
The non-binary movement is part promissory fantasy; and a flight from the body and it's social negotiations, awkwardness, emotions and messy fluids.
I was trying put things simply; but I am yet to learn that skill as I write. Simply, Helen is spot on! Parents are to live out their frustrations and grief through their children or/and avert from anxieties they hold, which the children experience (and play out?): tradition satire is lost. This time the stakes are higher than just status, career, money satisfactions, either personal or social, and there are echoes of the 'Conscious Evolution', which fed into the Eugenics movement........... 'By 'science', 'we' can change our destiny for a better future'; that's the eugenics line!
But, culture isn't the thoroughbred race horse we like to to be; more like a heavy horse ploughing the same field. This time, 'science' and cosmetic surgery stand upright, as the ghost of eugenics is re-invoked, and Mary Shelly's ghost returns to haunt us. Carl Young and many more, must be restless in their graves. No wonder the 'nons' want to rewrite everything to reflect their imaginings.

About 12 yrs ago, the UK education system adopted 😢 American philosophy of child led learning. I taught in a 40 place state school nursery. We had 3 staff and were expected to follow each child's interests and incorporate all aspects of the curriculum this way. Not surprisingly key education milestones were not met and then Ofsted etc were assessed that standards were plummeting but ridiculously blamed staff NOT what the education department had stupidly ordered
Children need and look to the guidance of sensible adults. Not those that are insecure about life and themselves. I've met so many parents who are so scared of saying no to their child in case they get upset.
Great interview with a sensible adult. I suppose my point is that once you the adults are allowing children to lead you in a way that you know is ultimately going to harm them or prevent them from developing, then that becomes neglect and potentially abuse.
If scientists hadn't invented hormone blockers or Dr's doing genital surgery what would have been said to these children then?
This has only started becoming a thing because the medical world has made it so.
Young children in America are ASKED what they identify as BEFORE they say anything. My daughter went to work in a summer camp for girls aged 8-16 and she was told to ask each child what they identified as. From the UK she was horrified. This gives children the idea that they have a choice and then how do they choose? Do they base themselves against stereotypes or that they like mummy more than daddy because they're kind and like the smell of her perfume? This is so seriously messed up, my heart breaks for these children. Of course the craziness is filtering around the world which is frightening.
