Late one rough winter's night 6 months ago after one of the worst days of his life, a homeless man walked into NightChurchPZ and asked, "Do you have a piano? .. A facebook video of him playing that night went viral and he become known as the Mystery Penzance Night Church Pianist. .. On 20th July 2024 Rhys Wynne-Jones returned to present a Charity Fundraising Concert for 'NightChurchPZ' at St Mary’s Church, Penzance. .. Playing an eclectic choice of music including Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy and Coldplay to Queen, John Williams and Hans Zimmer, there was something for everyone. Footnote: Roger Taylor from Queen sent a personal message of encouragement to Rhys which was read to him just before his concert in Truro Cathedral later in the year. By the end of 2024 Rhys' charity concerts raised over £15,000 for several homeless charities and Night Church Penzance
Rhys said, "The piano saved my life this year. I wonder where the piano is going to take me next."
