Excellent video instruction in cold water shallows: low, slow & small. As a biologist, I offer one small annotation; sand eels, seahorses, and pipefish are not invertebrates. They’re true bony-fishes (finfish) just like trout, snook, and tarpon. The key fact for anglers is what you mention, they’re small and abundantly vulnerable prey on the flats.
Thanks, John. As both an inshore angler and a secondary science teacher I cringed at C.A.'s little errors...probably because he so rarely makes them. If others are reading this, any of the critters without a backbone are inverts; e.g. crabs, shrimp, clams, and the polychete worms in C.A.'s photo are all invertebrates.
Would love if you demo the rigs you speak of sometimes. Meaning, actually rig each bait you show if time allows. I am sure you have hit them on some of your other episodes but reviews I think benefit everybody. Thanks again for all your knowledge sharing as I am always learning about the Flats.
Your RUclips videos are top notch, they can't get much better! Full of old Cracker secrets too. We might have to pay you a visit....... This video has a true blue secret in it.
Great tip. Just experienced a scenario 2 weeks ago where the trout trick is all they wanted. Nothing else. Basically chunking it out and letting "rodney" do the work
Really like your channel and fishing info...last winter while catching mud crabs started seeing lots of worms under the rocks that i was turning over looking for the crabs. had moment of fish clarity and so tried i wacky rigged a 1/16 oz jackel brand weedless flick shake jig and a 4.8 inch jackel flick shake worm which is very thin. works really well wading sarasota bay for redfish and trout .
Thanks captain ! Awesome advice and knowledge! This channel is awesome 😎 I’m in the Sarasota area do tons of kayak fishing all over the west coast of Florida !

I don’t think that comment/feedback could be crafted any better - had to acknowledge it! 🍻
