I expected a 10 from IGN. I was surprised to see a 10 from Polygon. Now the Allies? My most trusted review source? Man, guess I need to get this game sooner than I thought.
Personally, I will still take it with a grain of salt due to how big a fan huber is of GOW and how much he has hyped it up the past year or so. We all know and have seen even with ourselves that fans can be overly gracious or overly critical of certain franchises and games within those franchises.

Monster Hunter World definitely a contender, Ni No Kuni II not so much i think. One things for certain though, this is gonna be a great year for video games. I just wish FF7 remake and KH3 would come out as well this year.

It’s about to be a year from this statement. New Generation hasn’t improved yet. We are at the brink of the next generation with Hellblade and not even GoW Ragnarok it’s next-gen due to it being build to be run in the PS4

It was extremely hard to please gametrailers when it was still around doing reviews and it still shows here with easy allies,they are the exact same people who were running the gametrailers website.
Brandon's voice is always most soothing to listen to, and those reviews written by either Daniel or other members of EZA are always profound in wording and exquisite in grammar. This just turns out another perfect review amongst the many, which, however, are only to be found in EZA or the old GT. Luv u guys!
People saying it’s media biased is kinda stupid, So every single review is fake and was bought by sony, even small youtube reviewers which are also giving it 9 and 10 scores. Or probably the game is really good. Most people i’ve seen that are tilted because of the score are xbox players (not all of them) responding to rip xbox comments or skeptical people that think it’s impossible for a game to be this good. The game is good haven’t seen a negative review yet and I highly doubt that every single reviewer is in on it hyping up the game in favor to sony.

Been playing this game for a few days at the moment. Probably 10 hours in and one of my favourite games by far. Absolutely enthralled in the world, very hard game to put down once you start playing.

I think we all need to have a more important conversation Santa Monica Studio is now in my mind.. the greatest gaming developer of ALL time. To make so many games in a series fresh and wonderful is incredible, but then to totally reinvent the series and make it possibly the best God Of War as a Titan of gaming? We must give them their due, CD Projekt is great but they are NOT Santa Monica Studio.
So God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Monster Hunter World are the current GotY contenders. Guessing Red Dead, Smash Bros, Spider-Man, and maybe Tomb Raider and Pokémon will join that list.
I completely trust Jones and Huber not to include any spoilers in this review, but I want to go in knowing as little as possible. As soon as I finish the game, I’ll be back to watch the whole review. I only just recently played GoW3 to get a little context before this one. Judging by Huber’s score, I’m in for something really special with this one. Media blackout for the next week is gonna be brutal.

Strangley the premise for this game sounds like Hunt for the Wilder People. Old man left with a small kid after the wife dies. The kid goes on a mission to spread her ashes in the highest mountain. On the way there they’re hunted by people who are after them both, and the Father figure has to protect him.
To be honest, I don’t believe anyone’s reviews on games except for you guys (even when you guys were GameTrailers). Damn solid writing and great editing. Another great review team!
This is so crazy! Kratos' life sorta mirrors mine. Not the whole "kill Olympus thing" but its got some eerie similarity. First, he is physically similar to me; big, buff, bald, bearded, brooding. And also his son who has a cooper Mohawk like my son (even though hes a baby now). He has anger issues, and I have mine, LOL. My sister says she always thinks of me when she plays GOW! I also lost my first child. And on top of that, even though im not of European ancestry my son is half greek, and Kratos is also greek. So I see a lot of myself in Kratos. Its why I don’t get it whenever people say he isn’t relatable. He is… just not to everyone. I know this much… if the same thing happened to me, Olympus would be a hole in the ground. And im actually an easy go lucky, happy sorta dude. Just don’t get on my badside. So I look at this game, and I love that they took a deeper look, at actually well crafted character. He just needed a game to truly examine the solitary road of revenge and where it leads. I love action games, and the first 3 GOW games where a rollercoaster to say the least. An action game aficionado’s dream, with 3 being my favorite… such a spectacle! I think the game was great for what it was, but I was sorta burned out after that. Its why they needed to focus, slow the pace, and really give me grounded Kratos. I have been yearning for another mature story-driven experience like the Last of Us. I was bummed that I chouldnt find that anywhere. So this GOW game is a homerun, in that it brings back Kratos & a Last of Us-esque experience. This review is flawless. They should use it as a commercial, because I am ready to get a PS4 + this game. The score…wow! I stood up and clapped! Not really for the game, but how I was left feeling what the reviewer felt, thanks in part to Brandon’s eargasmic VO! Everyone should play this game. I stood up and clapped in my front room (yes my son already thinks im werid) Ya, it proves that those TLOU type moments was the way to go. Playstation hit a homerun!
In 2006 I bought the original God of War as a Greatest Hits title. I couldn't believe what I experienced back then. Now, more than 10 years later I am still changed by that experience. I compare nearly every game with combat to this series. I am overwhelmed with excitement and cannot wait to jump in! Kratos, welcome back - we've all been waiting for you.

When I was listening to this review, all I could think of was Huber's instant hype at the reveal when he excitedly said "Kratos with an Ax!" Now I see him give it a 10, and I thought, no way, it's THAT good? I look around the net and it's perfect scores all over the place. I waa cautiously optimistic about the game, but now I'm pumped as hell.

People saying it’s media biased is kinda stupid, So every single review is fake and was bought by sony, even small youtube reviewers which are also giving it 9 and 10 scores. Or probably the game is really good. Most people i’ve seen that are tilted because of the score are xbox players (not all of them) responding to rip xbox comments or skeptical people that think it’s impossible for a game to be this good.
The game is good haven’t seen a negative review yet and I highly doubt that every single reviewer is in on it hyping up the game in favor to sony.
LaTorta Extrema there's definitely some fishy political bs going on here. A perfect 10. Nothing wrong with it. Not the barebones slow combat? Not 30 FPS? Not that it copies every game out there? So it's a straight up masterpiece? Yeah I highly doubt it.

To be honest I'm not really a fan of the ACG reviews. I love Easy A, Shammy, Digital Foundry, WhatCulture, Eurogamer, and I'll watch GameSpot reviews. IGN just drags down the whole industry by making mediocre the standard.

Been playing this game for a few days at the moment. Probably 10 hours in and one of my favourite games by far. Absolutely enthralled in the world, very hard game to put down once you start playing.

Santa Monica Studio is now in my mind.. the greatest gaming developer of ALL time. To make so many games in a series fresh and wonderful is incredible, but then to totally reinvent the series and make it possibly the best God Of War as a Titan of gaming? We must give them their due, CD Projekt is great but they are NOT Santa Monica Studio.
Every review out there is absolutely praising this game. Must be for good reason. Cant wait to pick it up.

There is a level of polish here that I’ve only seen in cut-scenes until now!! 4K HDR was made for this specific purpose.
So God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, and Monster Hunter World are the current GotY contenders.
Guessing Red Dead, Smash Bros, Spider-Man, and maybe Tomb Raider and Pokémon will join that list.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider won’t probably be a GOTY contender, although it might be great. Also, SotC is weird, being a remake.

I completely trust Jones and Huber not to include any spoilers in this review, but I want to go in knowing as little as possible. As soon as I finish the game, I’ll be back to watch the whole review. I only just recently played GoW3 to get a little context before this one. Judging by Huber’s score, I’m in for something really special with this one. Media blackout for the next week is gonna be brutal.

Just finished this game, it definitely deserves the 10 score rating.
Strangley the premise for this game sounds like Hunt for the Wilder People. Old man left with a small kid after the wife dies. The kid goes on a mission to spread her ashes in the highest mountain. On the way there they’re hunted by people who are after them both, and the Father figure has to protect him.

This is so crazy! Kratos' life sorta mirrors mine. Not the whole "kill Olympus thing" but its got some eerie similarity.
First, he is physically similar to me; big, buff, bald, bearded, brooding. And also his son who has a cooper Mohawk like my son (even though hes a baby now). He has anger issues, and I have mine, LOL. My sister says she always thinks of me when she plays GOW! I also lost my first child. And on top of that, even though im not of European ancestry my son is half greek, and Kratos is also greek. So I see a lot of myself in Kratos. Its why I don’t get it whenever people say he isn’t relatable. He is… just not to everyone.
I know this much… if the same thing happened to me, Olympus would be a hole in the ground. And im actually an easy go lucky, happy sorta dude. Just don’t get on my badside.
So I look at this game, and I love that they took a deeper look, at actually well crafted character. He just needed a game to truly examine the solitary road of revenge and where it leads. I love action games, and the first 3 GOW games where a rollercoaster to say the least. An action game aficionado’s dream, with 3 being my favorite… such a spectacle! I think the game was great for what it was, but I was sorta burned out after that.
Its why they needed to focus, slow the pace, and really give me grounded Kratos. I have been yearning for another mature story-driven experience like the Last of Us. I was bummed that I chouldnt find that anywhere. So this GOW game is a homerun, in that it brings back Kratos & a Last of Us-esque experience.
This review is flawless. They should use it as a commercial, because I am ready to get a PS4 + this game. The score…wow! I stood up and clapped! Not really for the game, but how I was left feeling what the reviewer felt, thanks in part to Brandon’s eargasmic VO! Everyone should play this game. I stood up and clapped in my front room (yes my son already thinks im werid) Ya, it proves that those TLOU type moments was the way to go. Playstation hit a homerun!
Time to buy that PS4 than.
In 2006 I bought the original God of War as a Greatest Hits title. I couldn't believe what I experienced back then. Now, more than 10 years later I am still changed by that experience. I compare nearly every game with combat to this series. I am overwhelmed with excitement and cannot wait to jump in! Kratos, welcome back - we've all been waiting for you.

When I was listening to this review, all I could think of was Huber's instant hype at the reveal when he excitedly said "Kratos with an Ax!"
Now I see him give it a 10, and I thought, no way, it's THAT good? I look around the net and it's perfect scores all over the place.
I waa cautiously optimistic about the game, but now I'm pumped as hell.
This is why Sony are the gate keepers of home console excellence. Bravo.
