INDIGO feels like everydays life
I never comment but I can't let this go. Yes Jack and the box and indigo are different. To say there is no story in Jitb is absolutely not true. It is so deep and follows a story if you listen to it from start to finish. Also, to say it is commercial is ridiculous. It was vulnerable and experimental. Perhaps you need to revisit the project.
Hectic is one of my favorites from Indigo! Love your reaction! I would love to see what you think about RM's single Come Back To Me coming on 5.10! His second studio album Right Place Wrong Person is coming on 05.24!
I really enjoyed both of you with Mr Kim Namjoon (Hectic) reaction , he is truly doing his own thing in this album ( INDIGO ) I really am just a fan of his with him showing us his human side 🤗👍
"Fans don't know him but I understand him from this album" was a sentence that really stood out to me. Nobody really knows an artist apart from what they portray. Some artists are honest about their experiences and states of mind so fans who follow their music understand those aspects. If you look at RM's music he has always strived to be honest about where he is in life and fans just pick from that. Obviously thats just a small percent of who he must be as a person , but it is the same sense that you got from this album. So maybe it can be done without diminishing the people who have just listened to more of his music. 🤷🏽♀ (Don't take it as a hate comment, just felt like pointing it out) Appreciate your reactions !
You should watch Trivia Love where he performs solo during Love Yourself concerts tour.
All BTS members have performed solo on stage as they all have solo songs.
There is something I want to say about Korean singers mixing English to make lyrics.
Writing English lyrics, of course, has the advantage of creating empathy for a larger audience.
However, this style of lyrics has been going on for more than 20 years in Kpop.
Another reason for mixing Korean and English lyrics is that the emotions and styles of the two languages are very different.
Many Korean singers adopt English if they think that the pronunciation form that can come from English fits the melody better than the Korean lyrics. (In many cases, the opposite is true. The feeling that only Korean lyrics can give is often considered important.)
This is ultimately about melody and pronunciation design.
As a Korean, I have never thought that singing English lyrics is related to myself. That's how natural it is and it's a musical choice.

To say that Hobi's album has a different vibe comparing to RM's, it's ok, but to say that Hobi's is commercial???? I think you need to hear the whole album again! It has Hobi's soul in it, I would say it was a courageous move that could be rejected by his public!
I hope you used the word "commercial" without noticing it was offensive to his beautiful work...
If not, I recommend you to HEAR it again to notice the deep messages in it.

Commercial? Pop??? I'd argue Indigo has more commercial tracks than Jack in the box... especially compared with Hectic a city-pop track where you could see a Post Malone on it???
Jack in the Box is litterally just boom bap, rock/ metal, or funk beats where is the pop in Hobi's Jack in the Box???? The storytelling, introspection and vulnerability is crazy! And I'd even argue Hobipalooza is the edgiest BTS performance ever especially the 1st half with the jitb songs!!
I'd recommend listening back to the album, reading along the translations and watch the Disney + documentary that just went out..
Out of all the solos left and right, dreamers, the Astronaut, Vibe I'd get that you would say these songs were made to meet some commercial success with pop elements.. but Jack in the box ??

Hobis album was much more raw and stripped back and not at all commercial! I love both albums but honestly would put Hobis ahead by a small margin because of the raw stripped back more aggressive style and the creativity in the music and performances and it feels more the "real" Hobi.
