Artists like him would make u appreciate arts more. One of v's talents is making people fall not only for him but also for the things he'a doing. He sings, dances? He'll make you fall for music. He acts? He'll make you fall for films. He perfoms? He'll make you fall for stages.
You're right. He is talking to his younger self.
Originally his lyrics is saying "we won't change"
like a promise that they will stay child-like and will keep working towards the same dream.
But Namjoon asked him to change it to "we gon'na change" to make it hopeful.
A lot are split on the messaging - I am one of those who wishes the last few lines were dedicated to twist it back to his original lines of "we won't change" because Taehyung is exactly that, unchanging. Even the members always say that he may have matured through age when it comes to his naughtiness and hyperactivity but his character never changed. He still has the same child like outlook & the consistent drive to find happiness in every situation, even the sad or difficult ones.
I love this song so much. It is one of his most under rated songs by ARMY but it is so good.
And yes the back up vocals is also him.
I love Taehyung's vocal range. Soooo much. Anticipating his mixed tape and now solo album for years now.

They should have kept both lines "we won't change" for certain part of your/his inner child and "we gon' change" because you/he becomes more mature. Everybody change because you grow older and become more mature so that's gone change. But your happiness, naughty side and a lot of others things never change because it makes you the adult you've become or changed in. Also Tae needs his inner child otherwise he would not be the person he is now and it also gives him the strength to deal with certain things.
So I would have gone for both lines. Both lines are fitting not only for him but for almost everybody. Everybody changes, you have to, because life makes you.

The "inner child" is the memory of your child self that still lives inside you and continues to affect how you subconsciously respond to circumstances as an adult - possibly by reacting based on childhood fears.
According to Carl Jung, the journey of the Soul is to integrate different parts into a whole in a transformative experience. Thus, becoming aware of your childhood fears and comforting the inner child with your adult self can lead to profound changes in one's approach to life.
I turned 40 the year this song came out and I legit UGLY CRY EVERY TIME I hear it now!!!!

I turned 39 when it came out and I'm close to tears every time I listen to this song. I really could have used this song when I was younger. The lyrics hit so close to home. Certainly one of my favorite songs on the album. 🥲🥰
That was the MOS ON:E online concert that a select amount of people were Zoom called in and on big screens for BTS to see their fans and they recorded ARMY’s voices so that is ARMY you hear in the background
We could see that V was very emotional and almost in tears when ARMY were singing together. He had to control his emotions before singing the final ad-libs.

This is one of my favorite memories. They finally got to hear us and that we were still here even though they couldn't be with us in person.

The people singing at the end during the live was Army! They had a few select army record their voices so they could be imputed into the performance. V got a little emotional before hitting those beautiful notes. And you were right! It’s a message to his younger self, saying to always look up and go see a colorful galaxy… that way life will be better
It was actually that they had a few ARMY be the 'audience' of the show, displayed on video screens. Every now and then, our cheering or singing would be included into the show. Basically we would get a second or so advance with the show (or regular viewers were on a couple more seconds lag) and there would be instructions that would pop up on your screen to tell you what was about to happen. (So this would be something like, "ARMY Sing! (Displays lyrics)" iirc)
@@skyedestiny I know! But during some parts of online concerts they ask armies to input their voices ahead of time so that it’s already well prepared and in sync for when they actually perform
@@sunshinesam6399 It's not exactly what happened for this concert. There was a rehearsal where it seems like some audio may have been recorded (we were prompted to sing along with certain songs as best as we could - some ended up being in the concert, some didn't) and we all signed a release to allow our faces and voices to be used for their material, but there wasn't a period where they were asking ARMY to record voice clips for this show in particular.
(I know they did this^ for the future. Probably because, as touching as the moments we got during this show were, there was a lot of off-sync stuff that could have been difficult for the guys to work with. It led to the etiquette with things becoming different for similar shows going forward.)
Taehyung is an incredible vocalist. He is an incredible performer. He did the high notes. He has the widest range out of all the members. Thank you for appreciating him and for the reaction. We are so looking forward to his solo album. Happy 2023.

You Absolutely got the theme of the song. It’s another touching beautiful one. I love the set for the live especially for being so whimsical. All the BTS members are suckers for kids (well and small animals of any kind) but Taehyung is especially goofy for them, he will go sprinting if there are little kids or babies on the set and is the best with kids of the 7. So seeing him with a young Tae is a treat and it’s cute overload.

I love that perfromance. Watch V with the young boy, Jin with the little girl, and Jimin & V with the 2 children in PTD makes me smile. You can tel that if they choose to have children they wiill be wonderful parents.

One wonderful thing to know about Tae is that he absolutely loves kids. It’s always touching to see him with little ones. He will be a great father one day. I love this song so much. Since the first time I heard it. It sounds so hopeful and sincere. Like hang on to your dreams as a child and hold on tight, because this merry go round of life is what you make of it. A promise of good things to come if you can dream and imagine, have faith and persevere.
This song really gets to me every time. As far as we know, this song is, in fact, V talking to his younger self. The singing in the background in that performance were the ARMYs who were watching online. Some people with special tickets were tuned in through a Zoom-type situation, so their microphones were unmuted during that, which is why it was very chaotic. Thanks for the fun video

The cutest thing also is that Dam's mother posted on instagram how Dam was a huge fan of V and BTS and that later on V even sent Dam a gift it was a giant teddy bear and was heartwarmingly named TaeTae, after V's nickname. 😊
Those were all ARMY in the background. He was getting a little emotional when he heard them. Jimin actually broke down crying at one point during this concert because he didn’t know they were going to hear them 🥺. These guys missed performing for ARMY so much. The entire MOTS:ONE concert was so good!!
I love this song! 💜It's so sincere and heartwarming. When this song first came out, I was legit crying. The high notes in the background are from a choir. BTS as a whole is just so amazing, I keep wondering exactly how Mr Bang lucked out in finding these 7 talented souls!! RM is right, BTS is not and can not be BTS without the 7 of them together. Individually they each shine their own light, but together watch out!!!

The original lyrics were “We won’t change” but V and RM later decided that We gon change was better. But I think he is addressing his difficult childhood. He grew up very poor, on a farm. He didn’t get to see his parents much because they both had to work far away to scrape together enough for the family (he has either 1 little brother and a sister or 2 little brothers and a little sister). Mostly he was left for his grandmother to take care of. In a situation like that I can’t imagine that there would have been a lot of opportunities for him to go on and further his education and better himself. He has said in interviews that if he hadn’t gotten into BTS he probably would have been a farmer. It was probably a rather hopeless loop of poverty that he thought he could never escape from, but still he looked up at the stars and wanted to run after their light. So he’s telling that little boy that their future is bright, they are going to reach that galaxy. Of course this is all just my speculation, but that’s what I think this song means based on what I know of V’s actual childhood.

I really can't with this song gets me everytime. I had a tough upbringing and didn't really deal with it other than to block it out, bury it but when I heard this and read the lyrics it just clicked and perfectly said it all for me.
Tae has an ability to compose songs like he has lived 10 lives, he just gets better and better. His vocal ability has been said by many to be the one with the highest range vocally. If you want to hear more of his real high range then Stigma will blow you away and lower Singularity. You would also love Scenery.
