He's credited in more than 200 songs in KONKA. He's truly the first lyricist in BTS discography. Also he wrote songs for other artists. A great lyricist, our Golden Leader Kim Namjoon. RM.
Glad you're enjoying the album, so far! RM is such a versatile artist that you can never really know what to expect sound-wise, but you can be certain that his lyricism will be on point and the song will be great no matter what creative direction he goes in. Since you're checking out all of BTS, if you're in a particular hard-hitting "rap" mood, I know you reacted to "Arson" and "What If" by j-hope, but I suggest running through his album "Jack in the Box" the same way you did "INDIGO". I also suggest going through SUGA/Agust D's mixtape "D-2" the same way.
They don't like the singing n stuff but they r listening cuz it's RM. The lyrics are good. It's just not their style. Sometimes these things grow on you. Mono was one of them. Like I didn't like all the songs right off but those songs I didn't pay attention to much, were those I ended up just chilling to and listening. Very comforting his voice.
Hectic & lonely make a lot of sense since RM is talking about his 20s, BTS is the most famous group right now. Their schedule are hectic and often time it can be lonely too. I am so glad that he is transparent with his music because people have this hustle culture that can be quite toxic. So when he said it’s not romantic/ maybe his referring to their success is a result of their hard work (blood, sweat & tears). Which followed by Lonely; the isolation that he feel become he become so big/popular/mainstream name where every action/words been scrutinised.
RM is living our music dreams. He literally wanted all the genres that inspired him growing up. Imagine being THAT respected in the music that legends from different genres agreed to collaborate with you. RM could have easily had huge IDOL names within this album but he went for people that he felt connected to. In his Indigo film, one of his friends said it took him a year to ask a collaborator to do the song. He was that nervous they would turn him down. He gave Badu papers explaining the song and why he wanted her to do it. That is just adorable.
This album was a no skip tour de force. He showed so many styles yet had a narrative from song to song with his lyrics. I find all of them to be a vibe and soo good. So many are ridiculously catchy too.
namjoon said he’s already got songs he’s working on for a mini album / EP he could release before or after enlistment, maybe he will do more hip hop rap heavy music then but who knows! i love that we don’t know what he’s going to give us because he’s so versatile, like BTS music which he is the brain behind :) Colde is a rapper singer composer he just sang on this track (Hectic)

Hope you can do the same for *mono* (2018) and *RM* (2015) I think you would love *RM* (2015) bc it's just Namjoon spitting bars and going hard in every song, that mixtape was released when RM was still Rap Monster so you can already imagine how crazy it is

I am working my way through your BTS reactions, so not sure if you discovered it yet, but fairly recently RM did his second collab with Colde. BTS always have a reciprocity deal with artists they collaborate with: collabs flow both ways, one for BTS and one for the other artist on their own album or single. Anyway, the one with Colde is called "Don't Ever Say Love Me" and I am kind of obsessed with it. It's haunting. You should check it out. There is an MV for it as well. I also recommend his collab with So!YoON! called "Smoke Sprite." There is an MV for that as well.
Also colde and Namjoon have been pretty close friends for like 6 years so Joon being on colde's new album isn't that hard to imagine and it isn't just about deals with the ppl who they collaborate with. also they have been wanting to work with each other for a while so that finally happened in the song Hectic and Don't ever say love me😊

I don't know if you want spoilers about the songs themselves (as in "he wrote it bc so and so, since he explained here and here..."), but all in all he always said (now and with mono) that he releases a mixtape or an album now to make them free because he doesn't have those feelings anymore so they let them go to the world. Shortcut, think his life in hotels. Hectic: Colde is a singer-songwriter xD He's in the rnb/soul spectrum, but he does hiphop too! Yeah, hectic is for the days that you are doing too many things, and you plug the song in to make you company. There is a visualizer for it :) AS Joonie said in the cover of the album songs listen while taking a walk, a shower, drive, breakfast, ... and so on Apart from what I said already, if you guys want rap to go through all their albums as you did this one. I love this reaction, my favorite song is lonely. Wild flower is a special song all on its own so im not adding it to the list. So lonely becomes my favorite after that. Glad you guys like it. I love his vocals he really does need to sing more . To be honest the whole album is great .

OK, I suggest you watch Album Magazine Film and then listen to the whole album from 1 to 10 nonstop a few times. You will then know why people say this is a masterpiece and it is nearly impossible to pick a favorite because one is a shirt, another pants, shoes, hat, etc. Knowing RM for a human he is will also help a lot. Headset a must.

I’ve really enjoyed this and I think you should listen to RM’s last mixtape Mono (7 songs). It’s from 2018 and was such a surprise from the harder rap of his first mixtape. The vibe and poetry of Mono really hit people and showed a different side of RM.
