“When cocaine was still pure, white people have rhythm” 😂 That’s a funny meme 😂
I love that meme. 😂😂😂
Dang… you’re hilarious and intelligent…I’m learning so much from your reactions so am binge watching everyone of the Indigo/BTS related ones. I love all the comments too since they add so much to my knowledge and appreciation of the group. Army, the BTS fandom, has some of the most intelligent, kind reflective, super fun and hilarious people in the planet…..they always show up too, for real!!! Borahae Army and thank you!💜💙🇵🇭
ty very much for coming by and supporting.
The genre of this song is actually city pop. It's a popular japanese genre form the 80s. SO many great anime soundtracks have this vibe
8:12 "oh we went for silence? you fucking mad man"
i fucking loved that 😂😂
He is a mad lad 😂
City pop is 70s Japanese electronic pop. Most popular might be Plastic Love by Mariya Takeuchi - you gotta listen to the remix with Daft punk too damn. Stay with me by Miki Matsubara was really popular too 🤔 It goes very well with old-school anime visuals, there are a bunch of playlists on RUclips like that haha. I think 4 am by Taeko Ohnuki also recently got popular on tiktok
I loooooove your rather “technical” musical cerebral reaction!!!! Thank you so much I am a new subscriber 💜
Ty. It’s just what happens to my brain as I hear the music.
I even took a writing tip from RM I might show you guys if I use it in any song I write.
@@Jurnalist_ Please do!
Same!
@@wongpauline22 Ty guys. 😭😭
Just so you know, PDOGG is BTS's main producer, and he has been working with BTS since the very beginning of their journey with Big Hit Entertainment in their trainee days (2010-2012) and their debut (2013) until now. So he knows RM really well, and BTS basically grew up in BTS. The youngest Jungkook started in 2011 at age 13 and RM was 16 when he started in 2010. They all lived together in a small apartment they called their "dorm".
RM is 28 right now, he says he's 29, but he's referring to his Korean age. In South Korea, when you are born, you are automatically 1 year old, and you turn a year older on January 1st, no matter what your birthday is, everyone in South Korea turns a year older on New Years. So you will hear them say Global age, and Korean age. The members still celebrate their birthdays on their actual day of birth with their fans, and their family though.
I dated a Korean woman once she taught me about this age distinction. Yet she didn’t say everyone turns a year older.
That seems very cool and makes celebrating as a nation feel unifying to me. Thank you for the producer notes as well.
city pop originates from 80s 90s japanese pop music. they originate from the more retro/cyber aesthetics with synthwave etc etc. it has more to do with the aesthetics than a certain genre. that's why namjoon put such a music video. it gives you a certain wong kar wai film-esque/modern city night life mood if you get what i mean. wong kar wai fyi is a famous hong kong film director and i like to associate his films with city pop ahahaha... btw im pretty sure even japanese city pop took a lot of influence from disco music. a lot of the neo-east asian music is mostly western influenced. same with kpop music. also another thing which namjoon mentioned about not a lot of guys doing city pop. i had never noticed it until he mentioned it. that was a cool observation.
I'm really enjoying your reactions to RM. Can't wait to see when you react to other members and to the group as a whole. They are all like this though. Their b-sides especially stand out to me. There is a song from their 2019 Map of The Soul 7 called Dionysus for example, which plays on drink and art sounding the same in Korean so basically they are Dionysus getting drunk on their art. It's such an experimental song, we all love it. Or another one from the same album, Jamais Vu. Such an interesting song and it slaps! You go back to 2013 through their massive discography and there are no bad songs. Enjoy your ride! 💜
Please remind me of this after we finish the cyphers and the making of doc for indigo before we go down the BTS rabbit hole.
I know the lyrics are “yesterday was a hectic “ but I’ve always heard “yes, today was a hectic”. I might keep using my version lol
This is actually a term. Check this out.
I do this myself as a songwriter.

Hectic is definitely a fun one to bop along to. It's interesting that they captured that feeling of an urban city in it. It reminds me of driving home after school in the evenings through traffic and all of the shops and restaurants back when I was in high school for some reason. It's the memory that pops up. Our boy PDogg never misses for me. I don't usually pay much attention to producers generally speaking. It's nice that he's so beloved in the fandom much like some key staff.
Yea they bottled nostalgia and then sent it through the speaker. 😮💨
Plz give love to "Enjoy BTS more"! She does an incredible work putting subs to every vid she can find. We are from same country and same age. Swedish..and 60yrs... Im so proud of her! Fighting!💜
She has a patrion where you can access so much more material from BTS..and she doesnt do it for money.. its bc YT takes her vids down. She does an increable work just out of passion for BTS!
I had no idea I will definitely look into her and giving her more credit. Please do forgive the next 20 or so videos I’ve done since this one. 🤝🏾 more life and positivity to you as well.
@@Jurnalist_ yeah i know 😇...I love your videos! It´s a great pleasure to watch!
I just couldn´t resist giving her some publicity. It was not meant to criticize!
Thanks for this info! Makes me love her even more…her name is Britta, right? Just found out watching John Reeves twitch. She is so precious…we’re so lucky to have her in the fandom! 🥰🤭🙏💜
@@wongpauline22 💜💜💜 You are so right!
This visualizer is the official video for the song from BTS’ channel BangtanTV and EnjoyBTSMore included subs. This album has 2 MVs, 2 visualizers (No.2 as well), and a bunch of live performances on BangtanTV.
Yea I was going to watch some lives after I finish the album.
@@Jurnalist_ the only live performance that’s not on the channel is RMs Tiny Desk on NPR
@@Jurnalist_ I think Enjoy BTS More also has those live performances subtitled on her channel. She does only BTS videos, and she does an awesome job.
@@tracydowd4013 haven’t really gotten to the lives and I like to hear the studio audio first as I think we can agree the lives bring a whole new element to their music.

I agree with your pro tips about drinking water. I've been doing the same for a long time, too, but mainly to reduce the toxicity of alcohol in my body.
You fight the early fight. Sometimes I forget so I do the post game cleanse 😂😂
It's so funny to see PDogg so heavy. He was such a skinny little guy when they started out. 😂
The price of fame. Lol.
Everyone in BTS orbit is eating better these days. Including Bang PD.
BTS and ARMY are still "indie" in the music industry. There have been rules changed just to stop BTS charting 😩
Yeah, RUclips and streaming services also delete lots of views on their songs repeatedly to try to slow them down. Been doing that to Jimin’s new releases a lot, but he is still #1 on Billboard, and with **NO** radio play when radio play factors heavily in chatting.
Go ARMY!
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@@NanciBK have you heard about the latest rule change yet?
Can you imagine 60% of our sale was filtered from FACE? The music industry is just a business rn. It's no longer for the common man. It's all for 💸

It’s so gross.
Really enjoying you~ enjoying our Namjoon’s artistry and genius! Thank you!
Looking forward to seeing you get into the other members! They all bring something different to the group.
He is K-pop's Golden Leader (1). He is our Golden Leader.

Hectic is great to vibe to
I'm in the middle of binge watching your Indigo reactions and i just wanted to stop by and say thank you before i forget. You're easily one of my favorite reactors (i've seen a lot at this point) and it's extra cool that you found BTS thru a random RM mv without knowing who he was.
The main reasons i like your videos are 1) your breakdowns of the sound and lyrics, contextualized by your own experience and knowledge of the industry, and 2) your appreciation of RM as an artist. I became a BTS fan over a month ago, so after you found them, also kind of on accident. I'm a longtime kpop fan who had heard BTS music here and there but nothing grabbed me till i saw their disney+ concert last month and really saw their on stage charisma/chemistry, sincerity, and meaningful lyrics. But it was truly Indigo that knocked me over when i least expected it, i think at least a couple of tracks made me cry because of how relatable they are to me at this time.
Being the same age as RM and as someone who loves poetry, i am continually in awe of his voice-- sonically and poetically-- and as you put it, his ability to be down to earth, genuine, and creative, given his place in the entertainment industry. Idk yet how your bts journey turns out but it's cool watching someone else interpret and relate to RM's album the way i did, like seriously, did EVERY song have to be so good yet so different?
So kudos to you man, i think you're highly underrated.
Love to watch your comments about the album, I love music so much and BTS is the group that touches my
soul the most but listen to your input on technical aspect of the music and sound really amplifies the original feeling I have of the songs.
You do a great job of analysing the structure and linking it with the meaning and emotions of the song so thank you for that !
I’m just happy my passion for the music comes through. Happy to enhance the good feelings you have for great music. This album was a joy to listen to.

Cyphers after the album but I will be covering them for sure.

React a Agust-D /suga , too from bts , he is one of the other rappers
everyone saying this is city pop, but its not, city pop is like bread & butter, tatsuro yamashita, watanabe etc to me this is just funk with autotune like calvin harris, tuxedo, frank ocean etc....dont get me wrong the songs dope but city pop is way different, it sounds nothing like this.
RM calls it City Pop, so we are just going by what he says
I totally agree. There is a certain routine to the hectic.
Also, I have no idea what city pop would be defined as but I definitely think of doshii - lovememore. when I hear the term. That's what I think it is. I love that song.
