I respectfully disagree. The mother provided evidence of OP's biological father's abuse, photos, courts records, etc. She essentially said the guy was a dick, and he was. He's meeting a 20-year-old boy and his mind kept going to money. Reputable people don't covet the money of kids in their 20s, they usually have none, so why that came up at all is pretty telling. OP's half-sister confirmed the guy was a deadbeat. If he wasn't, he'd have reached out sooner, or provided evidence that he was at least sending child support or something. People OP trusts, his Mother, Stepfather, Grandfather... they ran this guy off for a reason. And forget the blood relations angle, that means nothing. We all share 70% of our genetic code with the yeast growing on Rosie O'Donnel's crotch and you wouldn't invite that to dinner, so genetic similarity doesn't mean a fuck of a lot, lol. But I understand what you're saying, there's always another perspective, and you are right to consider it from all angles before making a decision. Blind trust is for fools. But in this case, he was trusting his entire family over a man he's never met. That's acceptable to me.
Disagree. Just because someone’s independently successful, it doesn’t mean they deserve crap from entitled people. It’s their money, and they can spend it how they please. It frankly sounds like OP’s entire family is toxic, and he’s just the one who made it out.

I can’t imagine sympathizing with a guy about to buy a fifth home for passive income in multiple countries. Obviously you don’t just sign a paper own a house and collect cash there is SOME work but what a rich entitled mooch to landlord that much.
