If I were OP in story 1, I'd visit the sister after their divorce and spend the whole time mocking and laughing at her and saying, "you lose them the same way you gain them".
I think it would be better to not let the sister have any contact at all though, "my life is amazing and you don't even take up room in my mind" would be a bigger 'win' in life
Story 3: i think i remember seeing this story. Mary was projecting; she'd been having an affair, but didn’t want to be the cause of the divorce (she'd get nothing). So, she was trying to drive her husband into OP's arms so that HE would be at fault.
Story 1: cheaters always cheat. Story 3: Max should proceed with divorce, this will not be the end of the accusations. The next accusation might be against another woman who might not take it as kindly as op, and may sue.
this is weird to ask but im picking a random comment that looks like its a real person: can you reply to this and tell me if my comment is being suppressed or not?
OP better watch out in story 1 Sister loves going after married men, so OP’s husband is unfortunately going to be set in sister sights. Of course sis and ex are habitual cheaters, cheated on op then cheated on each other.
Story two If my partner dropped that on me ? There would be no wedding…i really couldn’t deal with someone who would want to exclude my loved ones because of their sexuality Fuck that (And yeah, there are situations where exclusion of family members can be very valid/needed … but thats not the case in this story)
The fact that she waited so close from the wedding date, is very telling on her character. If you're homophobic, stand in your bigotry. She inserted herself into their lives and was fake. Her brother is a coward too.
"You can't expect parents to choose between 2 children" ummm yes they can especially when it's a situation where 1 is ABSOLUTELY WRONG and there's that whole not choosing a side is choosing a side!!!!
Story 2. First off, I agree that the fiancé was disgusting both for what she did and using her beliefs as an excuse to be hateful. Saying that, something about the way OP kept going on about blood family and real family and family comes first gave me the ick. Family is not made by blood. When you marry, your spouse becomes family and they should come first.
Not really. They shouldn't come first if they're being manipulative. So the brother has to support the fiance but she can't support her fiance? It works both ways.
They see her accusing them as something of PPD it sounds like, or that maybe she has normal depression. People tend to allow behavior like Mary's at least a bit until she can get help or if she goes too far, like physical abuse of Max or OP.
#2 Tell your sister in law she is not much of a Christian . She should know that God does not turn his back on anyone . It’s also not her job to judge anyone.
Story 2: This story and forgive me for going on an Anti-Religion Tyrade, But this story is 1 out of Thousands of incidents of people in the LGBTQ+ Community being treated horrifically because of the level of control that Religion tries to have on people, it steals away happiness, Gaslights people into hatred, and creates nothing but distrust, The brother is very lucky, if he didn't call off the wedding, he would have been nothing but a trophy for his EX to have and control.
2) I don't know how the OP's brother can commit to a person who is homophobic when they have a gay sibling. The religious aspect just doesn't play because, IF they are Christians, and IF they believe it's a sin to be gay, the Bible states that the biggest sun is Pride and, though you are to hate sin, you are to love the sinner. Really so happy for the OP's brother that the fiance showed her true colors before he was tied to her. While I was raised that marriage was meant to be between a man and a woman, that was trumped by the instruction that we don't have all the answers, that those decisions are between the participants and God and it's not up to others to judge them.
What i dont understand and make it worse is that the fiance is a hypocrite = a sinner she pretended to be supportive until the last secondes when in her twisted mind she had ops brother in lock and key Im honestly starting to believe that the fiance was abusive and not only homophobic or not at all even it feels like a way to isolate ops brother and destroy his support system Like think about it a homophobic person wouldnt have stayed quite and not only was she quite but she got so close to op to be considered a sister a closeted homophobic would have been cold so im thinking that the fiance was just trying to get the brother vulnerable and dependent She might have also been homophobic
last story how do people get in situations like this? not only one night stand but you arent even sure who the dad is ? screwing a new guy every night? just gross behaviour
For the whole first story, OP repeating over and over again about her parents (who definitely sidelined her but hey if she likes it, I love it) not being bad people and only keeping her golden child sister in their lives because of grandkids. It comes across more and more as if she's trying to reassure herself and not the readers. That's just me though. They may not be completely bad, but they've dropped the ball in several places. Second Story, the fact the brother even came to OP and just said that (with the clear intention of giving into his fiance's BS) makes me think he's not really been a supporter. There is no way I'm letting someone make me uninvited a sibling because of their sexuality. Like why does it matter? Our wedding isn't about them or what they do behind closed doors. The fiance and her family are a bunch of perverts, worried about what kind of things someone else gets up to sexually. This brother is a loser, hope he has the marriage and unhappy life he deserves. (update) SO the brother was a spineless coward? Uh huh, yeah this guy only decided to get a spine when his own family came to him and forced him to see what is going on. Like really bruh? Third Story...yeah, Mary was waaaaay off on this one. I mean, if we got this story from Mary's side, it would seem like that's the case but....yeah.

OP having a one night stand had nothing to do with the sister thinking she was sleeping with the husband, it just caused her to finally say it out loud.
If I were OP in story 1, I'd visit the sister after their divorce and spend the whole time mocking and laughing at her and saying, "you lose them the same way you gain them".
I second this.

Just as I suspected.

Last story: there is something missing....is Mary projecting? Also how are OP & Max being so forgiving of Mary being so accusatory? WTF
I would look more towards her friends. Someone is definitely feeding this woman, who's currently in a bad mental state, some BS to get her to divorce.
They see her accusing them as something of PPD it sounds like, or that maybe she has normal depression. People tend to allow behavior like Mary's at least a bit until she can get help or if she goes too far, like physical abuse of Max or OP.
either that or she has some mental issues and her super promiscous sister would concern a lot of people
If I was Max I would have a DNA test on my daughter.
Its obvious in the last story she is cheating and projecting.

2nd story: brother wants to marry into this family? Disown him and anyone who agrees with brother
