Wow, I have never looked at the ride through that perspective. I watched the Walt Disney presentation of the ride so many times as a kid and I’ve even been on it twice but now I wish I experienced the pirates ride through that captivating story you just described
I never knew Captain X had one of Jacks piece of eight and you’ve got to tell us more about the Mary chick and the Chest of Cortes. That’s lore I didn’t even know.
You forgot the mention Davy Jones voice at the end of the ride in Disneyland at the lift hill also captain x just reminds me of the cursed captain from sea of thieves probably just due to them being talking skulls but they might be related in some way as in the dead man’s grave or whatever it’s called and in sea of thieves only a few skeletons can talk to to our knoledge the cursed captain is the only one who can also they are both above some entrance and maybe the cursed treasure in the ride has connections to the ancients and how they cursed the loot in the sea of thieves well the gold but maybe they sent some of the curse to other realms or at least the pirates one as it had the portal talisman thing and they thought it could be a problem and set it up as a protection like how the sea of thieves had it as a protection
