Gorgeous!! I've just had my third aerial hoop class! Despite being the weakest in my class, I won't give up! I know with determination and hard practice I can one day be as beautiful in flow as you (maybe!). Any tips for strengthening? I struggle even getting up into the hoop! Thank you so much for your inspiration and beauty
***** Hello. Sorry for the delayed reply. Thank you for your comment. Though I'm sure you've advanced since you commented, the only tip I have is to keep going to classes regularly. Practice really does make perfect so go to class every week. Everyone progresses at their own pace so don't worry about how long it takes to master some moves or where you are in comparison to other students. I started with no background in sports of any kind so it took me much longer to advance than the students who had dance and gymnastics backgrounds. With practice, consistency and determination you will get to where you want to be.
Laura Stokes The studio had a chain wrapped around a support beam in the ceiling. Then I connected it: carabiner - swivel - carabiner - spanset - carabiner - hoop. There are cheaper aluminum carabiners and swivels but you have to check them for cracking over time. I got steel hardware which should last forever but it was much more expensive. There are also spansets of varying lengths. I had to lower the hoop with a longer spanset in order to practice top of the hoop tricks in this particular set up.
Gorgeous! And such a wonderful set up too! I'd love to know about your hoop set up - how it's connected to the ceiling etc. Hope you post some more videos soon :)
