Love watching you and your lovely wife. I love how you respect each other throughout your journey. That's what good marriages are made of! Watching you make your Irish stew. Haha if that meat is tough just cook it longer. You don't need to wait on your dad to get you a knife sharpner, just use one of those riverstones you have on your property! You really can sharpen a knife anywhere with a little water and a stone or even concrete. Take that from a Texas girl. You do need a new fillet knife that will skin a deer or sheep!
Aww I am sooo chuffed for you both! ❤ bloody well done Clare, I love how you were up at 7.30am hoovering just to get in the bedroom! Those mosaic tiles for the kitchen are beautiful, I was thinking it’s such a shame have to put grout in/on them but then when you started grouting…wow 😮they stood out even more! Love them. You two are my heroes, I love your enthusiasm, your work ethic and your style!
Now it’s going to sound like I’m saying great job Clare only because Rob said so but it’s absolutely true. Clare is a amazing. I hope you slept in Saturday. You’ve both earned it. Clare I think you need to wear protective gear when Rob uses kitchen knives. So, so happy for you ✌️💚
Sleep has been transformed, no spiders thankfully😉 I think I may have whitewashed them out of it! Very lucky to have a chef husband, as long as he doesn't injure himself in the process🤣
We managed to buy huge Porcelain tiles for our worktops for Just £18.00 the job lot! Me being a baker they are ideal! Love them! When I say huge these tiles covered most of our worktops in one piece. Result! I admire your dedication to do it all yourself, we did but like you, we never did the electrics on each house we did.
We are the electricians apprentices! He is teaching us as we go, but pretty much letting us do most ourselves. I now know why I would never want to be an electrician 🤣
Clare great job on the bedroom it looks so good 🙂.The mosaics are beautiful, Rob I'm glad your safe that knife was a real scare! You all have a lovely day🙂💐
This is too late now, but some advice for future reference. After getting an extension built we painted the plaster board. For about ten years afterwards every time we painted, the painting kept chipping off the walls. A friend of ours, a very handy man, told us to scrape as much paint as possible back to the bare plaster. I did this with a hair dryer. I got every bit of paint off! He told me to give the walls two coats of half PVA glue and half water. This leaves a shiny finish on the plaster and makes it unabsorvant. I then base coated it, undercoated it twice and over coated it twice. It’s never chipped since and is a pleasure to paint since.
Well done Claire you are amazing. There is only one other woman like you and that’s Tracey from Escape to the dream. She is also amazing and work hrs like you do. ❤
We used to have the same recipe (mutton) including turnips (swedes in England!) Irish Stew growing up in Northern (the North of) Ireland . Some lentils were added near the end together with chopped scallions (spring onions in England) to the mash. My foster mum was a brilliant Irish cook who, whilst a war time sergeant cook in the ATS at Camberley, always by popular demand, fed this to the officers including one Princess Elizabeth. Truly a super food.
That bed looks so comfy, you both deserve a good nights rest. Clare, your an absolute warrior getting all that done. Rob the counter tops and tiles are looking fantastic. The place is really coming together. Roo makes me giggle, checking the perimeter 😂 That stew looks amazing, my Granny made it for us as kids. My Mams was more like a soup so we called hers a Stupe. Looking forward to the next video guys.
Your bedroom looks lovely, l hope the first sleep in a free standing bed lived up to your expectations., a year in a caravan is a long time. The kitchen tiles are very pretty, they add a nice touch of colour and there are so many colours in them you’ll have fun adding soft furnishings by picking out colours from them. The stew looks delicious. Claire, you are lucky to have a man around who is interested in cooking….and apparently quite good at it as well. Well done both of you.
Cynthia, I am very lucky my to have a wanna be chef husband, even if he almost kills himself in the process 😂 Yes very much looking forward to furnishing the rest of the room, the bed is ridiculously comfortable, even though it has been fixed up to work. We would like to have a go at building our own bed for the room eventually 🙂
Hi guys. The bedroom looks fantastic. I really like the tiles you used. Also, thanks for the Irish stew recipe. I have a couple Irish cookbooks and I love experimenting in the kitchen.
Bloody brilliant! So happy for you! We have just finished a MAJOR rebuild of our home and moved in three weeks ago, so, similar to you guys. It’s so exciting to finally sleep in the house you have been working so hard on! Congratulations! You deserve huge congratulations! ♥️
How I love to hear all your expressions. Even though I’ve lived in the States for 30 years it is so natural to my ear to hear you both chatting away. I was born in Cork, Rosebank many many years ago and when Dad’s job with the ESB took him to Dublin we moved up there when I was 5. Hoping to be home this year for a visit. Mum used to make her Irish Stew with either gigot chops or neck of lamb chops, whichever was at the butchers that day. Thanks for your brilliant videos. I love them and you’re doing an amazing job.
Wow, how lovely to hear about your background. Rosebank is in Douglas, a suburb of Cork city, a lovely place to live and actually a sort after place to live now. I just love hearing of story's from old Ireland and I guess we love to bring those memories back with our channel as well. Thank you so much for sharing 😁
Ah gigot chops yes. Layers of potato then chops then veg and repeat. Cooked in oven in glass casserole dish with water or stock. That was our authentic Irish stew. This one to me would be a lamb casserole but equally lovely and looks delicious. Well done chef and also the tiling. Excess grout should be wiped off straight away, so no difficult scraping off after it has dried. Brilliant work on the bedroom too. So fresh and comfy looking!
Aw fantastic! What an amazing time, now you can sleep in comfort whilst doing the rest of your house, it’s looking amazing, sure is a beautiful part of Ireland you live, so gorgeous!
So glad to see how you are moving along to your goal now! What a road it’s been through the winter weather and so much rain and cold. Rob your passion to cook and enjoy doing it is lovely to see. I also recommend you making Irish stew, and your way of doing it is just like the way it’s been passed down in my English/ Irish family over the generations. We use carrots, and leeks leeks fresh if in season. That was a lucky one that the filet knife didn’t get in your eyes, phew! So glad Claire got her bed in the house, It was just lovely to watch her go on her mission during this video pushing forward. I bet it felt so good to sleep in the peace and quiet and have some space too. Happy for you both. All the best, see you next week if not before. Hopefully some garden updates too now Claire’s got her bed in the house. Such a fun episode from you both! Have a good week, Maureen. Ps. My trip is getting closer to cross the pond, can’t wait for some tasty treats I miss being overseas now. Maybe next year I’ll pop into Cork enroute for a few days and see Ireland where my great grandma came from. Take care.
Between the bedroom and the kitchen you can really see it starting to come together. Well done guys! Clare's face when you suggested the futon was a picture lol! I expected loads of pearl barley in the stew, but it looked lovely. Thank you for another great video!

It might be too late I did it from the living room to the kitchen and back kitchen but regret not doing into the downstairs toilet where all the downstairs flow went. Other options are window sills or else plant holders/plates on the island or kitchen table......
Stew looks fabulous! I loooove butter so the only difference with my stew is I put a knob of butter in/on just about everything. Yum. Loved this video xx
Well done Clare!! You’re a force to be reckoned with when it comes to moving out of the caravan!! ❤🎉😂 The mosaic kitchen tiles are so pretty, and thanks for sharing your Irish stew recipe with us! 💚

Ah Ben and Dawn, thank you for your heart felt message. Someone has to be up hoovering at 7.30am in this house, believe me! Love you guys ❤️
Cut the remaining tiles into suitable squares, bond them to some thin MDF/Ply and then put some felt button underneath to make matching coasters.
Andrew that's a fabulous idea, or maybe slightly bigger for putting dishes and pans on, on our new surface. Thank you 😊
