I found your channel the other day and subscribed. I have given 1 baby blanket to a family member, everything else has been donated to hospitals, hospices, nursing/care homes, or missions. I have never made anything for myself. I learned how to crochet after I had to suddenly end my career as a Obstetric/NICU RN, and put on permanent disability. I needed to feel challenged, and a sense of purpose. I now am learning Tunisian and next will be knitting. I am moving from FL to MN this summer for my health (I know that sounds backwards!), so I decided I will make myself some hats, scarves, a pullover, and a cardigan!! I'm really going to do it!! 🤭 I'm not allowing myself to proceed with that until after I get settled in my new place though. I don't know if you read these comments, Crystal, but I appreciate knowing your hanging technique. My mom just passed away in December, and I got to have her everyday brown cardigan. 💕 I know how to hang it properly now!! Thank you - it's appreciated!
Hugs Kimbo500 on your moving and crocheting. Crystal is queen of crocheting and beautiful lady with compassion and respect. Send love from Tasmania Australia❤❤
It’s Crystal!!!!! You look really pretty in your tops you’ve made!!!! And the last video I was in awe how close the colors matched with your hat and top…. Especially since they weren’t made together
Sheets and bedding come in zipper bags. My family always gives me theirs so I can store my crochet items in them. I gift baby blankets in them also with the washing instructions new parents appreciate a nice way to store the blankets when the babies outgrow them.
Am so glad you showed this. My cardigans get so stretched out on hangars, so aggravating. Now I know how to hang then so no stretching and no creases. I have those hangers with the rubber on them I got mine from Walmart online. I am working on my afghan for the auction. Should be finished this week. I will be 70 on the 18th and this is the first time I've tried something this intricate in my over 50 years of crocheting. So keep your fingers crossed it turns out nice enough to make some money for the fur babies.
I just started crocheting this past fall with the goal to make items to put in operation Christmas child shoeboxes. Your tutorials have helped me make hats and scarves and a couple little purses for kids
I love "the fold" idea! no unwanted hanger marks! I store the items that I keep in totes also. I have been making and selling lots of items to supplement my husbands income. I am disabled having had 7 strokes. Please keep up the great work! BTW, I really like the top you are wearing and the one you wore in the previous video. You look so pretty in them!!
WOW!! Great idea for hanging sweaters up!! I have been folding mine and some are too bulky to put in drawers, so I had them on my sofa. On my way to hang them up.🥰🥰. I keep my throws, baby blankets, hats etc. in my cedar chest until they are given away. I also have a ladder in my bedroom that I display some of my afghans on.🥰🥰
OMG!! I can’t believe I’ve never seen this sweater fold on a hanger. Thank you so much for sharing this!!! I love having everything on a hanger where I can see it. This helps me in a major way!!! 😋
Watch you regularly and so appreciate all you do. Thank you particularly today for the tip on how to hang cardigans. This is so clever and now I can hang them all without getting those funny hanger bumps in the shoulders. Your channel is one of the best!
I donate most of my crochet items to women's shelters or nursing homes. The few items I keep I had a hard time hanging. We only have a Walmart here (about 1 hr away, we live very, very rural) and they only sell the hangers with the loops (I call them loops 😂). The pullover I made for my hubby I folded and I had a hard time figuring out the ponchos. I finally pinched my husband's trousers hangers, folded my ponchos and put them through the hanging closure (I know, hard to imagine how it looks but it works). Thank you for sharing Chrystal, you are awsome. I will look for the non slip hangers on Amazon, maybe they sell them. 😊
I like the color of your top. I have zippered storage bags from Amazon that I store my yarn and finished projects in. This allows the items to breathe and not attract bugs. I do have two totes that I also use.
Totes for things that don't hang in the closet things in the closet also get a dry cleaner bag over them if I don't wear them routinely. I rotate what goes in the dry cleaner bags.
The Fold was really helpful! I knit myself a gorgeous cardigan and it’s just been moving from chair to chair and table to table because I had no idea how to store it. Now I can hang it up nicely :3
Hey Crystal! I usually store my crochet tops on the black velvet hangers and any sweaters on the wooden pants hanger folded like yours. Thanks for sharing as always! Love ya! ❤️🇺🇸🦄🧚
I use totes for most of my stuff. I also have an open shelf inside my closet that I roll up ponchos, sweaters and cardigans in length wise so I can see each one :)
I put large items (sweaters, ponchos, shawls, blankets) on a hanger and then take a LARGE organza bag, cut a small hole at the BOTTOM center so I can then slip it over the hanger and item (the hangers "hanger" part goes through the hole). Hats and scarves go in smaller organza bags and into a huge tote until I give them away - usually around October - to schools/nursing homes.
I can't believe I never new how to hang a cardigan like this. 🤯. I have hung cardigans over the bottom bar of a hanger but found they slide off. Your Method is much more secure. I'm a convert, thanks Crystal.😊
I have just gone through my closet and rehung all my sweaters. This is genius Crystal! Thank you so very much for this video! Much appreciated! Now my sweaters won’t fall off the hanger or stretch out from hanging. 😀
I like how you folded cardigan over hanger better than the way I've been hanging mine. I just folded them in half, fold arms over, then hang over bottom rung of hangar. I haven't ever liked this as the sweater ends up in a bunch and hangar gets pulled out of wack 🤦🏼♀️. So thank you Chrystal for sharing your storage techniques 😊❤❤❤
I like that hanger fold. I've done that before but they would slide around because the video I watched didn't tuck any over the long part of the hanger❤
Hi Crystal, I usually store mine in totes also but I put nice smelling soaps in between the items, so when I take them out they've a beautiful smell, Love the fold idea, have to try that, Gary is a very nice person love his channel also ❤❤❤❤
That purple looks GLORIOUS on you! I’ve missed y’all; been out of commission…hopefully catch a “live” soon and that everyone is good! Hugs from the OH! ☺️🫶🏻🧶 Lisa (square granny) 🩷
I watched this a few days ago and I wanted to thank you because I knew there was a different way to hang sweaters, and have been wanting to hang my sweaters differently so they would stop stretching out through the shoulders... So I went through my closet after this video and now they all look snug as a bug on their hangers in my closet. Thank you...
You are so sweet with all of the beautiful items you spend your time making, teaching us how to make and donating them to such great organizations! I'm sure everyone who receives your items feels so lucky and blessed! 🧶💕
That's a amazing top love the colors of course purples are my favorit colors as well as browns. Love how u store your items. Love the hangers i will have to look for those.
Finally heading over to check out Gary at Urban Yarn thanks to your reminder shout out. Now I'm enjoying his videos/yarn review from his visit with you a few months ago and totally enjoying. Definitely vote for more BOD/ Gary collabs 😊;
Hi Crystal! Great video with good information. I mostly make blankets now, and keep them in zippered bags until I give them away. Previously I made layettes with blankets for each of my 7 grandchildren, for the future great-grandchildren. These I put in zippered bag and then a storage tote.
Great tutorial. I store my yarn in closed cubes I got off Amazon. Everything I crochet is donated. The only blankets I have a put on my furniture. I have made 2 cardigans and a bathing suit cover up, I need to hang them like you showed.
I just want to say I watched a blanket you were doing recently and you went over how to chain a circle for granny square. Thank you, mine look great now. I just learned from you tube how to crochet recently. I love your channel.❤
I will now start using your method for cardigans, wraps and sweaters. I have a couple blanket stands for my special ones. Thank you Crystal for this insight. It is very helpful and I’m going to buy different clothes hangers.
Hi Crystal! Thank you for the tips! I have given away most of the things I have made as gifts. I haven't made any big items yet. You look beautiful in that sweater. I love the color! Have a great week! God bless you!
First: you look *striking in that top! Second; Thank You for actually *showing the "Magical BOD Fold!" (I would have never figured it out haha) I love cardigans & have never been able to figure out a good way to fold them. You saved my wardrobe!
I store mine ( gaments, hats, scarves, blankets, etc.) in handle bags, then in large storage bags or totes. Yarn is in totes or large plastic bags in boxes. I don't have room for a yarn wall. One day. Thanks Crystal.
Methods of storing finished items are always useful. Handmade items such as hats, headbans, scarves, shawls, tops, cadigans, blankets, mittens, gloves, socks, pillow covers and plushies take up a great deal of sapce. Blankets & pillow covers get stored in totes in large organza bags. . Padded hangers are wonderful for sweater tops and cardigans. Slacks hangers work well for flat scarves. I keep my shawls foldded in organza bags in a hanging shoe storage unit. Gloves or mittens tend to go in a matching hat in organza bags hung on a tie hanger. Socks end up in the sock drawer. Headbands are stored in rolls in the top drawer of my vanity. All my organza bags have care lables and note on what it was made with or where it comes from as well as washing care info and spare buttons etc. Curtains are always hung in daily use. My bags tend to hang on a hat tree at the back of the closet. Little bradcloth saschets of cedar and rosemary keep my wool items safe and i keep moister absorbing beads in my closet and totes to prevent mildew here in the Texas coastal humidity.
I love learning by watching you on your channel. Thanks for demonstrating the technique you use for hanging cardigans. And I love watching your numbers grow! ✨💖✨
I usually made shawls and amigurumi toys. I only have one amigurum,i no shawls gave them all to friend and family. I just like to make them. 69 years old, so kind of clearing out my house of stuff.

I fold my personal knit or crochet things, & put them in drawers or on shelves, whether they are handmade or store-bought. I find hanging a yarn item causes it to stretch out of shape. Totes to store things are always nice, but bulky. However, they can preserve & protect yarn items from whatever elements could come along, like moths, mice, sunshine, moisture, etc. Praise God, I have never had such elements trouble me or my makes; but, I do like to use cedar blocks, or my essential oils like cedarwood or peppermint, clove, lemongrass, lavender, etc. on a wool ball or cotton ball, to ward off those kinds of things. So far, so good.
You look so pretty in that top! Thank you for storage ideas, and thank you for showing us your wearables and sharing the links. Great for us new folks to your channel.
I currently store my BOD creations in my closet. I use those metal rack cube things from amazon. Now my husband was listening and he said oh she taught me a few things. The hanger tricks he thought were great❤good night
I store all my wool and animal fibers folded in a cedar chest. Thanks for how to put my cardigans on a hanger. I have lots of closet hanger space. So the cardigans on hangers is perfect.
Thanks for taking the time to record this very useful and informative video. I use totes to store my things except sweaters and cardis. I hang them, but am going to change to your way on the cardis. I store my shawls flat. Things like my daughters christening dresses and special things for future grand and great-grand kids are in my ceder chest. Lots of Hugs from Utah to you and the BOD family!! 💜🩷🌻🏵🌸
Thank you for showing us how/where you store your makes. I have a spare dresser with empty drawers that I keep most of my makes in. My beanies/hats are stored in a tote. Like you, most of my makes are either given as gifts or donated. 😀

That's a neat way to fold sweaters onto hangers, thanks Crystal!! 🤗
God Bless you lady. You are a special person!
I love the way you hang your cardigans. I'm going to switch to that, over folding and stacking. Thank you so much! Take care.

I use totes and comforter bags. I love making things to give away. Some for me but not much. I just enjoy crocheting!
I have just gone through my closet and rehung all my sweaters. This is genius Crystal! Thank you so very much for this video! Much appreciated! Now my sweaters won’t fall off the hanger or stretch out from hanging. 😀

I do my sweaters the same way. I got some fabric zip totes to put shawls and cowls in…at least for the natural fibers ones to keep the pesky bugs away

Hi Crystal. I use multiple tier slack hangers for long scarves and Shaws. The type the bar unhooks and swings out ( with rubberized rod).
Hey Crystal, I hang my cardigans the same as you…the top you’re wearing is gorgeous!😊🧶💜

Shirt is too cute!! Will look for pattern!❤❤❤ Also, thanks so much for the storage and hanging tips!!
I have never seen that kind of fold for a cardigan. I will do it that way from now on. It makes so much sense. Thanks for sharing.

hiya crystal! love you in purple! that sweater fold is terrific. never saw that before. gary is a wonderfully talented fella! xoxo
That #knitted vest from Gary is perfection 🤎🤍
Thank you @Crystal 💕
Thank you for showing us this. MUCH LOVE.🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
Thx for showing how you store wearables 🥰
Crystal I love the fold! 😉
I'm definitely doing that with my sweaters from now on.
Thanks for sharing this. I never would have come up with your fold method and I'm going to try it.
Love the cardigan folding for hanger storage!
I crochet a lot of hats. I store my hats in individual gallon size ziplock bags then in totes.
Love the fold! Will have to do that! Another pretty top you’re wearing! 💜🩷
I love learning by watching you on your channel. Thanks for demonstrating the technique you use for hanging cardigans. And I love watching your numbers grow! ✨💖✨
Great way to hang cardigans. Will be doing that from now on. Thanks Crystal I always learn something from you.
The top you are wearing is beyond gorgeous. I love, love, love it!! And please put one of your beautiful Afghans on your chair. 💜💜💜💜💜
Love the purple on you
I usually made shawls and amigurumi toys. I only have one amigurum,i no shawls gave them all to friend and family. I just like to make them. 69 years old, so kind of clearing out my house of stuff.
Love the 2 purple tops you showed. Great technique for hanging cardigans. Thanks for sharing Crystal
Always interesting videos, thanks for all the information, Crystal
That shirt is so cute! I'm definitely looking for that pattern, I am trying to get started on making myself things for warmer weather.
Omg....all these years having fold lines in my cardigan! Who knew!!!! Thanks Crystal!
Hi Crystal, thanks for a sneak peek into how you store your handmade items.
I use those velvet hangers for my sweaters and cardigans bcuz I can’t stand wrinkles on them but, I’m quite intrigued by the way you fold your cardigans and will def. give it a try.
90% of my yarns are in giant totes. I’m in the process of turning my smaller bedroom into a yarn room so I can see what I’ve.
The lovely purple top is beautiful on you. Doesn’t matter if it’s a little big, baggy/oversized is the fashion of today.
Like you, I hate stairs but I can’t getaway from them bcuz my house have them everywhere and by the end of the day, I’m all but ready to pass out.
Enjoy the rest of your day w/family. ❤❤❤
I use those vacuum free vacuum bags. 🥰
Thank You for this video Crystal!! I'm always looking for better ways to store my crochet items and I hit the jackpot today! Thank You!! ❤️❤️❤️
I use totes & plastic bags. I also use the velvet hangers for wearables. Ty for the info Crystal! 💫💫💫
Hi Crystal, Thanks for the tips on how to hang or store handmade items.
Thank you Crystal for showing me the fold. I had no idea. Thank you also for your suggestions on storage.
I currently store my BOD creations in my closet. I use those metal rack cube things from amazon. Now my husband was listening and he said oh she taught me a few things. The hanger tricks he thought were great❤good night
Love the top! I store blankets in totes as well, most are donated but have few special ones that are keepers.
I store all my wool and animal fibers folded in a cedar chest. Thanks for how to put my cardigans on a hanger. I have lots of closet hanger space. So the cardigans on hangers is perfect.
Love your top. Love the colors ,it complements very well.
Thanks for taking the time to record this very useful and informative video. I use totes to store my things except sweaters and cardis. I hang them, but am going to change to your way on the cardis. Thank you for sharing! I will definitely be doing my cardigans like this.
That's a great way to hang up sweaters thanks for the idea
Thank you for showing us how/where you store your makes. I have a spare dresser with empty drawers that I keep most of my makes in. My beanies/hats are stored in a tote. Like you, most of my makes are either given as gifts or donated. 😀
