Hi Friends! Have you seen this method before? I've fallen in love with it! Not only is it great for color changes, it would work great when you run out of yarn and want to attach another ball. Let me know what you think. xx
BRILLIANT! How I love it’s smooth transition and clean look with little effort. I’ll NEVER go back to the other way now. THANK YOU for sharing this worthy tip.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. Some have commented that is more fiddly but I’m just not finding it to be. I’ve done the other way for years and this definitely feels better. 😆💕
That’s amazing! 😱 I was holding my breath as you pulled the loop from the old colour, I thought it was going to unravel. Thank you for educating us ❤🇬🇧
Lol ~ you guys make me laugh! Just glad I’m not the only one who had that feeling. I’m coming back to crochet after setting it down about 20 yrs ago. I thought it’d be like riding a bike… not so much! & at 61 the brain not as quick as it used to be. Anyway ~ THANKS for sharing this wonderful technique, and thanks to everyone else for their cute comments 🙂
Wow, this feels really good. I especially like that the weave-ins don’t start from exactly the same point. It wasn’t just the bump from the same point that bothered me. The overall stretch and flexibility was not the same as the whole rest of the fabric. Having the weave-ins start from two points eliminates that reduced stretch. Thank you so much for sharing this.
No, I haven't seen this before. But, I'm going to try it. It looks BETTER. I'm crocheting an afghan right now, so I have to join new skeins a lot. I notice the 2 ends being loose, make a messy stitch. Especially with soft yarn. So doing this way gives more structure to the stitch you're making during yarn change. I'm excited to try this. I've been "binging" your videos all morning!!! Great channel. TFS! I will report back after I try it. Austin TX USA
Mind blown! Ive been crocheting for almost 50 years, but just started doing amigurumi in the past 3 years. Im going to try this with those projects and see what difference it makes.😊
I just finished an afghan - 28 different squares of picture color changes. I wish I had seen this method before. It would have made all of the counting easier. I like it. Thank you.
This is exactly the same thing. 😂. After crocheting since age 4.5 y/o, I do not see or feel any difference. To me this way takes more time, but after crocheting 65 years, I guess I am just too comfortable with the "old" way. 😊
@@bridgetn2575 based on the way the yarn is pulled through the two bands , seems like it would be awfully difficult for the yarn to pull out once it’s weaved in. I think we are on to a winner here 💕👍🏻
The 'new' way is exactly the same as leaving the 2 loops on the hook and adding in the new thread. and finishing the stitch. I've been doing this for over 53 years.
Yes , that’s not where it’s different. This helps to maintain tension which is helpful especially for beginners. I’ve been using the other method happily for 30+ years but enjoy this alternative very much.
I Love this idea I've kind of struggled changing colors and then haven't always been happy with the results. Thank you for this tutorial. Can't wait to try it.
I have learnt a easier and tail free change of colour or same colour join. The only thing is that you have to work out how much yarn you would need to get to the colour change or same colour join. I found it on Tik Tok. If you would like to see if it works please let me know and I will send the link. I've found it to be amazing.
I think you’re right, it’s a more secure join. I often pull too tightly and lose that top stitch when I’m changing colors with the original way. And although it doesn’t really come across on camera, I find it’s less fiddly to do 👍🏻💕
Worked great in the round with single crochet too! Im a new crocheter and switching colors was so clunky. I thought there had to be a better way and found this! Thanks for sharing!😊
My new favorite method the instant I saw it! The old method you showed first was how I was taught and I was always extremely frustrated with how loose the stitches were and how I had to fiddle to make them look right. This method totally eliminates that problem.
You cannot imagine the amount of swearing I have spoken during my changing of colors in the past. And some swear words I just made up because I was so frustrated during yarn color changes. You have changed my life. Thank you. No need to swear anymore. I'm good. 😃
I’ve been taking a few day break from crocheting because my hands and elbow been aching but I’m 24 years old and your videos are super inspiring , I was already inspired but even more now !!! There’s always new things to learn ! I been watching your videos and you are such help with a lot and have amazing creativity, thank you !
So happy to read this, thank you for telling me , KitKat! I’m glad you’re getting your crochet mojo back. Take good care of your joints. It happened to me too 🧶💕
Wow, this is mind-blowing! Now that i am older. Not raising kids. I pick this back up. Of crocheting, and wow, what a blast! Making things for the family!. Wonderful tip!!!
For all the years of crocheting and learning new things, right now I’d have to admit this is at the top of the list, absolutely shocking how easy. You are a genius, thank you so much for not keeping this gem to yourself and because of sharing this I have to follow, again thank you so much.
I love this one and I use it more and more. I do think it goes better if you complete one or two stitches in the new color before you pull that loop of the old color through. It helps lock in that stitch and keeps the tension more even.
Ohhhhh! That is so great! I’m trying it tonight! God bless you for posting this! (Been crocheting for 51 years, never saw such a beautiful way to change colors! You are amazing! ♥️🙏🕊✝️🙋♀️💜🕎💕🌹

Genius ❣️👏👏👏 now if only didn’t have to weave in ends !

I haven’t see it but I’m gonn used it, I’m a sorta new crocheter and I learn so much new techniques thanks ❤
Wow. 60 years at this and I still learn new things. I love this option.
Me too. Amazing, isn’t it? I love learning new ways to do things.
Me too!! 😀💕

I always struggle with changing yarn but this sure will make it easier
Me too! Thank you from Texas!!
Same here. 😱
Smart! The color change is essentially the same, but without the weird fiddliness of changing halfway through a stitch! So smart!💙
Exactly 😀🙌🏻🧶💕

Always "a first". I've been crocheting for about 50 years and battling the "color change." Thank you.😊😊😊

Fantastic observation and point! 🙌🏻💕
I don't understand what u mean. How do u weave in the ends? Do u use a hook or needle. The ends look so short?
Oh my stars and garters. I didn't think there was anything left to learn about crochet at my age. I love this!!❤
First time seeing this and I have avoided color changing..until now. Holy Cow, you’ve changed the game!!!
Absolutely love this! I avoid multi colored patterns to avoid the headaches of color changes. Not anymore!
This is revolutionary and I know I’m sold. I also know straight away it’s a better method than the ones I currently use. Thank you so much.
Wonderful! 💕👏🏻

Thank you! This makes a lot of sense! I have always stayed away from color change mid row, fear of failure. I'm going to try it now!
You’re definitely going to love it then 👍🏻💕
Same here! I’m paranoid about the project falling apart if everything isn’t super secure. I wonder how these color change areas hold up in the wash. 🤔
