Just followed your recipe for traditional hummus - and --->>>BOOM!! - Best hummus I have ever made and best hummus I have ever tasted - and that's a lot of hummus over 35 years and three continents.
I made the roasted carrot hummus for dinner tonight to use as a spread on the falafel burgers that I also made for the first time. What a dynamic duo-both the hummus and falafel and you guys! I'm loving and learning much from all your videos!
If it wasn't for you guys I'd be totally lost in the kitchen and spending waaay too much money eating out. Thank you so much for helping me like cooking!!
The Happy Pear 🍐 How long does the homemade hummus last in the fridge, and how long would the tahini last. Thanks.👍🏻 I made roast carrot, peppers, onions & garlic hummus 👌🏼
ive never really been a big hummus fan and ive tried to force myself to like it because its such a healthy snack. ive made my own hummus a few times but there was just something about it that didnt sit right with me. however i literally just got done making this recipe and i wanted to weep into the food processor because i couldnt believe how amazing it was. very lemon and garlicy. 10/10. love this with all of my heart. will be making it every week for the rest of my life probably. thanks so much for the recipe, guys!
Jacinta: As you indicated, it is sad not to like hummus. Have you figured out why you have not liked it? I have learned that one can make hummus out of any bean: white, black, red, even peas! I'll bet lentils would work too. One can vary the seasonings and the fats. I love that you want this to work. And some of the commenters here have such splendid ideas. I have even seen recipes for dessert hummus ( chocolate and cookie dough).
These three have become my staple as i transition to a meat free Diet. The Falafel Nuggets too. This Channel is an amazing resource. Thanks Lads. Ps Trying the Pad Thai tomorrow.
I've just started eating healthy and on this journey in the past two months and I want to thank you for your videos I love these simple healthy meals that I can make for my family and I plan to make humus today... just made your flatbreads from another video but in my oven and theyre yummy!. Where is your restaurant/Shop at? I would love to visit sometime. I watched your Ted talk and it was so inspiring I plan to do something similar in Michigan. I believe every place should have organic fresh produce and healthy options... thank you for being an inspiration you two bring the light to the world!
A super recipe! I tried it today to end the year on a good note... Simple to make and full of flavours. For a student, it is the best cheap and healthy spread... Thanks guys! Cheers from Paris :)
Beyond South Tyrol Fair Play. It's popular in our houses too. We're interested in hearing all the unusual ones in the comments. Can't wait to try some.
The Happy Pear Hummus can be so versatile and can be adapted to everyone's taste. I'm going to snoop between the comments too to find some good inspiration!
I've made it with black beans once too. I used cumin, loads of paprika and chilli to make it very Mexican style. A splash of Tabasco could be perfect too.
Every time I make hummus, I look at you guy’s videos on hummus so I can switch it up. I do have butternut squash hummus every now and then. But it’s in the summer so I’m gonna do a parsley bomb in my hummus with tons of lime. It detox’s you and you pooop. I love the carrot one.
Im in love with this channel! They surprise me every week with their recipes. I love what you did with the beetroot! My favourite cooking channel so far!!! Everything healthy and simple!
Love this video! I love seeing around your shop and trying your recipes with customers/employees, also such a great meal prep idea for dinner parties! 😋
Can already tell you guys are going to go a long way on RUclips!!! Your recipes are delicious but it's your personalities that will take you places! Keep going!
What a great video, love watching you guys as you make cooking fun. You make me smile and giggle and I look out for all your videos. Hummus is great and going to try the beetroot one or sure. Thank you for sharing x
I love beet hummus. I have never tried carrot but will make it this week. I often make roasted red bell pepper hummus 😋 it’s usually my go to if I don’t havebeets. you guys are a riot. Thanks for the morning laugh.😁
All the way from Hilo, Hawai'i ... 🌴🍍☀️🌊🌺 ... Just made your delicious beet hummus... Never ever made hummus on my own before... And now... Yum! A keeper recipe for sure! Mahalo & Aloha
As a carnivore with a vegetarian girlfriend I love your channel. Gave me great ideas about things to cook for the both of us :) A little while ago I tried adding a tablespoon of honey to my humus, works really well for a sweet humus! But I'll be sure to try roasted beetroot!
The Happy Pear Yeah, I've been doing it for a while now. Also allowed me to reduce my meat consumption a little which means I buy better meat, save a bit of money and eat healthier. A good trade all things considered ;)
I love hummus! I wish one day I can taste it. Nice idea. I am doing hummus in these months! Amazing! To eat with vegetables, bread, salad, and so on.... And a wonderful protein. I wish I could understand every words you re saying... My English inst good... I am from Brasil! Congratulations!
Fabulous recipes!!!!! My partner and I both agreed that the carrot and coriander was the best. All three were easy to make and delicious. Thank you both. Much love 💕 btw... I took a picture of all three but couldn’t figure out how load it on here. XX
I make black bean hummus. Same recipe as your.first hummus but I add a can of black beans and some coriander too. I made it for a party once and it was a big hit!
That's exactly the way I make hummus! You need to try it with fresh Basil it tastes amazing. I recently prepared it for some friends and they couldn't get enough of it! I'm going to try it your way with the roast veggies, looks good
Absolutely love beetroot and horseradish hummus...my new obsession :D But the classic one is my long term superhero ;) I am using it instead of mayo into the pasta or mashed chickpea salad etc...absolutely love it and cannot live without a hummus :D
If you want super creamy hummus of any kind, step one, put your tinned chickpeas in a pot with water to cover, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Step two, in about 1/2 cup of tahini, whisk it with with 3-4 tablespoons of ice water! Trust me! It makes it more like a peanut butter consistency. Step three, make your hummus with the hot chickpeas and whipped tahini. I do add lemon zest, lemon juice, lemon pepper and a bunch of garlic. That’s my basic hummus! Enjoy! Love your channel!!!!!
I adore hummus and I always put different stuff in the basic recipe. My philosophy is that you can never go wrong when you put something tasty into something tasty. Faves so far have been kalamata olives, avocado, parsley, dill and spinach. Most times I put just one of these, but sometimes I feel adventurous and combine.
I also add a spoon or two of your pestos to the basic hummus! So now I have 6 ways hummus!! ;-) So quick and easy. Great, thanks lads, love the Mumma Quinn xox
That was just amazing and you guys make it so enjoyable, full of enthusiasm and what a lovely way to make 3 diff Hummus. Loved it and cant wait to try (in near future) :D Me too always have a smile watching your video recipe :) Thank you so much for sharing the joyousness of cooking :)
Looks great! I love garlic but raw garlic doesn't like me so when I make hummus I roast one head of garlic and then add that to my chick peas. Adds a little sweetness and is awesome.
+Craftlover 9 Crush the garlic separately from the rest of the hummus with the lemon juice you plant to add to the hummus. It prevents garlic's enzyme's from converting garlic's flavor compounds into the ones with the harsh burning bite.
Just made this for lunch today, all 3 turned out yummyyy! Great special moves to avoid getting bored with normal hummus. Also I love your positive energy, your accent & sens of humor. Keep up the good work!
If one wishes to avoid the beans and peas 2 Zucchinis peeled chopped and steamed til soft and roasted red pepper and garlic or raw 3 tbls of light tahini, lime , pink salt , cumin and oil x Love the vids lads
Dnh K Fair play! Let us know what you think and if you try out anything new :D

Honestly I could never get sick on Hummus. Truly a wonder food. So delicious. i use it with raw veggies and love getting a loaf of 4 seed bread and smash it with some Hummus. Nice to have some options though. I often make a Black Bean hummus and I prefer it to normal Hummus.
Awesome! Try ORANGE hummus- it's amazing. Freshly juice an organic orange and use the juice as the liquid, instead of water. You can also shave a few pieces of orange zest on top with your chopped parsley, or mix in the zest. Let me know what y'all think! P.S. My mom is an identical twin, as well.
Would love a little bit of fresh coriander in the carrot hummus, love the flavours together. I also like to add roasted capsicum/different roasted peppers/chillies to my hummus-want to try a chipotle version next :)
You guys are freakin awesome!! I just listened to your podcast with Rich Roll and OMG, I loved it. So excited to watch your videos and follow your journey through social media!
Last time I pimped my hummus with curry and pineapple, but I didnt mix the pineapple into it, I wanted it to be in pieces in the soft hummus, it was delicious!
Ooh never thought of that but that sounds like a great idea! I sometimes find the taste of raw garlic too predominant so I’ll definitely give that a try!
I am an America's Test Kitchen fan, as well as a fan of this channel. The most recent season of ATK has an updated recipe for hummus. They run the garlic through a garlic press, pour the lemon juice over the garlic and allow the mixture to sit for 10 minutes, and then strain through a fine strainer before adding to the food processor. I haven't tried the technique yet but find the idea interesting. I think the lemon juice/garlic technique may work for tzatziki as well.

Really nice alternatives!! I would also suggest one with olives and another with sun dried tomatoes and paprika

The Happy Pear Yes we certainly try making the beetroot one after seeing everyone love it so much :)
its such a delight to watch you two! I'm off to create those spicy burgers!
Joanna Hartley Oh nice! Let us know how you got on with them. :D
Last time I pimped my hummus with curry and pineapple, but I didnt mix the pineapple into it, I wanted it to be in pieces in the soft hummus, it was delicious!
Was delicious! Thank you guys 😍
try roasted garlic instead of adding the cloves raw, it is such an upgrade!!
That's what I do..... amazing difference!!!

I think the lemon juice/garlic technique may work for tzatziki as well.
Awesome! What is the approximate storage life in the refrigerator?
the rosted carrots and beetroot hummus is just BAM
