"Forever and Ever, Amen" and "Three Wooden Crosses" are two more songs that I love from Randy Travis. The latter is not what you first expect it to be.
wow just listened to Three Wooden Crosses, yeah wasn't the three I was thinking of :) - great song and voice
Randy, did 2 great songs I really liked called "Forever and Ever Amen" and "I told you So". Great reaction MrLBoyd
Such a tragedy that his beautiful voice has been silenced by a stroke. Saw him live, he was fantastic
Randy Travis is a country legend. My favorite from him is “deeper than the holler”. Some others to look into, forever and ever amen, I thought he walked on water.
"Deeper than a Holler" is a great one
Deeper Than the Holler is also great! 😊
Now you need to hear him sing 'Forever & ever, Amen'. LOL
lol, It's a Country song. Cheatin' is one of the stories that never quit. I called Randy out as a soon-to-be star back in the 80', and I was right. He has some really great songs in his catalog, hard to choose just one!
Randy has some great songs. I saw him live more than 20 years ago. He had a great sense of humor. He suffered a stroke several years ago. But he's still a country legend.
Others have probably mentioned them but “Forever and Ever, Amen” and “Deeper Than the Holler” are great. I’ve always liked “Digging Up Bones” as well.
Digging up bones was the first song I heard by him.
Love Randy Travis. His music brought me back to country music in the 80's. He's dealt with a lot of issues in his life. Recently I saw a video of War Hippies performing Forever and Ever Amen and Randy Travis was sitting on stage in his wheelchair. The joy on his face had me in tears for most of it. His right side is still paralyzed and he doesn't speak very well but you could see and feel his love for the music.
"I Told you So" and "I thought he walked on water"
Another great one from Randy Travis is "Three Wooden Crosses", just as a tip for future listening, be it on or off cam.
He reacted to it about 6 months ago.
@@beedeegee9374 My bad. I did check, but apparently not well enough.
@@SweDennis 😊
This was Randy's first #1 hit! We fell in love with him and his voice!
Randy Travis, hands down one of the all time greatest voices in all of recording singing history. Another great song from the same era, matter of fact, I believe off the same album is the song "Diggin Up Bones". Not telling you what that means, have to hear it for yourself unless someone else spoils it.
I only heard this song from him- but it is killer!!! "Have A Nice Rest Of Your Life Without Me". His voice and the lyrics...
Him and Dwight Yoakam are some of the best twang country music...
I love a thousand miles from nowhere, and his cover of suspicious minds
Definitely need to do “Digging up Bones” and “Deeper than the Holler”
i have always loved his voice, he could sing the phone book and i would be enthralled😍😍
Randy was so great before his stroke. It's a Matter of Time is a beautiful song by him with a 50's feel to it
My man Randy!!! You won't need the lyrics.... this is country perfection my friend.
After this you might be ready for George Strait, All My exes live in Texas !
This one takes me back to riding in my Dad's F150.
Randy's story is so sad. It seems I remember he had a psychotic break, got lined out after that, and then had a cerebral hemorrhage. He is partially aphasic and hemiparetic now.
All Randy Travis songs are great!
Randy has the most beautiful songs xo
Randy has some amazing songs. They always take me back in time to when my mother would play his songs and my parent would dance around the living room. It's too bad his stroke left him silent. He is an incredible singer.
Randy is one singer that George Jones took great interest in, they did a live show singing each other's songs, when I was away hunting and very tempted at bars, this was in every dives jukebox, would play when temptation so strong, and never cheated.
Most of Randy biggest hits along with "when you say nothing at all" Keith Whitley and "love can build a Bridge" from the Judd's where written by Paul Overstreet. Paul is such a overlooked master. Would love to see some of his hits reviewed like "Daddys come around" "All the fun" or "Seein' my father in me"
Randy Travis = ICON.
The message Randy shared has value. We can all be tempted, but keep your to your "other hand". Maybe that's your heart, or the other person's.
Regardless, I've gotta say he had/has an amazing voice.
What I really struggle with regarding live performances, is it's not what what intended. Live can't always express the original intent... On the road/elevation changes/day after day/humidity or lack thereof/sound mix/acoustics... Etc.
I prefer, generally, studio based performances. That said, live can demonstrate the true talent of an artist.
I dig your channel, don't stop!
Digging up bones is a good one by him
I told you so is another great one by him. Such a great singer.
This is my favorite Randy Travis song.
One of the best “a play on words” song ever.
This is the best song. Travis was fantastic.
Country music songs are the kings of turn of phrase.
King of the road another good one by Travis (there’s a good one with him & josh Turner as well
I don't think I've ever seen you so stressed out over a song before! Great reaction!
"Three Wooden Crosses" is an amazing song by Randy.
He reacted to it already.
@BeeDeeGee ok I thought so but I have quite a few reactors that I watch and I can't remember which ones reacted to what lol thanks!
@@mrrisko1 Me, too! I knew offhand because I just watched his reaction of it yesterday. 😊
My absolute favorite song of his is 1982. Strongly encourage you to check it. It is just so damn solid on so many levels.
when I first saw her GORGEOUS blue/green eyes, and, beautiful lips, I said to myself....'those are the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen on a women...let me ask her out(we met at a Christian college in Michigan)' she STILL has those beautiful eyes, that have always gone with that beautiful personality. I NEVER tire of being around her..................we've known each other 60 years..............married 58+. my opinion to a long HAPPY marriage..always remember her as the 1st time you said WOW...and keep that WOW there!
Randy has so many wonderful songs. Such a great voice.
3 woiden crosses, I thought he walked in water.. Randy can sing. Great reaction
It is a tragedy that he can no longer sing. I love watching his TikTok, he watches people sing his songs from celebrities to everyday people.
I told you so is a favorite of mine from Randy Travis
So many wonderful songs, with that terrific voice and style that use to be called traditional country music.
Randy brought back some of the good old Country Music sound in the 80s. As for the song, like many a married man, I have found myself in this position. Working away from home, tired, lonely, and dancing with someone. Nature's call is strong. However, I am glad that I chose the wonderful woman who is my wife.
He did another song where he didn’t show the restraint he did here called The Reasons I Cheat. Scandalous! lol
You HAVE to check out his song 3 wooden crosses!!!! A MUST HEAR!!! Amazing story telling song with an AMAZING twist at the end!
One of his very first sang is one of my favorites “digging up bones”
“Sir! You are married! Act like it!” Perfection. 😆
One of the best
Legend
I like taking a common phrase of "on the other hand" and giving it a different meaning...great songwriting.
I think this is something that country music used to do so well...turn a phrase into some else.
My favorite of his is "I Told You So."
I believe the song you NEED to listen to, is "Three Crosses" very emotional and amazing vocals.
He’s already done it
Other Randy Travis songs that I think you'd like:
"Forever and Ever, Amen"
"Digging Up Bones"
"Deeper than the Holler"
"I Told You So" (duet version with Carrie Underwood)
"Better Class of Losers"
"Before You Kill Us All"
"Three Wooden Crosses"
"King of the Road" (Roger Miller cover)
Pray for the Fish! It's a great song he recorded!
You have a gifted voice my brother
Try listening to "I'm Gonna Hire a Wino" by David Frizzell. It's a fun country song. It's a little silly and I think you'll enjoy it.
Love this❤
I think you would love Three Wooden Crosses.
You need to listen to digging up bones by him
The Storms of Life. 1982. Is It Still Over.
Another great one Love this big hit
Great reaction!
23yrs together and still going strong. We aren’t naive and we really do enjoy each other’s company. We’ve been best friends since we were 20 and 21.
Nice reaction.
I feel like this is a great song that he thought he could portray.
3 chords and the truth
Great reaction, man !! 👍
Try watching the music video for his song "Forever and Ever, Amen!"
You should listen to ( I thought He walked on water) also by Randy Travis.
React to "Deeper than the Holler"
Best country song in my mind.
More Randy Travis
Any song by Brooks and Dunn is a good time ❤️❤️
Listen to Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man.
It’s incredible
The great Randy Travis. Unfortunately he suffered a severe stroke. It left him in poor health.
"Oh, gosh, why is he doing this to himself?!...You see this shiny new thing, ,over there....Hopefully, you know better than that!...You made your decision: You deal with it...Let's leave it at that!..."
Art = powerful, compelling one to contemplate!
Fun fact Keith Whitley did this song first. But Randy's version was much more popular. I'm a fan of both versions but this is more a song I think that fits Randy Travis better. This song is classic drinking and cheating songs that made country famous in the early days of country music. You should totally react to I Told You So. One of his best songs.
The box is a good one as well.
For another great country song on a similar topic, try Bobby Bare - ""Maggie's at the Lincoln Park Inn". And a funny take on bad hook-ups, try Amazing Rythm Aces - "Third Rate Romance".
I highly recommend Jonna Jinton The Wolf Song.
I prefer the lyrics of Paul Overstreet’s version. He, along with Don Schlitz, wrote the song. The second verse originally went: “When you placed your hand on mine, I could feel desire. When I looked into your eyes, I found myself. And I know with just one kiss, we could start a fire. But that fire would just start burning someone else”. He was never in her arms and he never kissed her in the way the song was originally written. You can listen to Paul Overstreet’s version on his Songwriter’s Project Volume 1 album.
If a man would stop and think how he would feel if it was her doing that to him, just how would he feel....should stop him every time.
wish my husband would have thought that way after 47 yrs he went the other way then she dumped him i moved and he told me she is gone now you can come back now i said oh hell no we have done this 3 times done over
if you like this try Garth Brooks' "The Thunder Rolls"
You should do percy sledge " if loving you is wrong" great cheating song.
Barbara Mandrell’s is a good cover.
You must watch the movie 👉 This is the End!!! 👈 from Seth Rogan and his buddies!! Funniest thing you will ever see lol. Way funnier than sausage party imo. They all portray their real life selfs when the apocalypse starts! Freaking hilarious!!! 🤣🤣
his divorce put him on a downward slide, got arrested driving drunk and naked went through having a stroke, he did take the stage for the cmas but doesnt perform anymore to big crowds
Please check out The Louvin Brothers Knoxville Girl, I'd love to see your reaction to it! Just be warned that it's a bit disturbing...
Stay out of compromising positions and you will avoid a lot of drama in your life.
Eva Cassidy is someone you should check out, Fields of Gold(live) is a good place to start!
Not my favorite Randy Travis, but Randy Travis had a voice low and mournful that would make you cry.
Moralizing aside, cheating songs are a big part of country music. So are murder ballads. Don’t judge the singer based on the lyrics. 😂
I think She is married not him in the song
She had a golden band, not him
