    Nintendo should just make a pro controller that you can pull in half and then use in portable mode, that way you get the best of both worlds. Keep all the features that make the Pro Controller great, motion control, NFC, USB-C, but also allow it to be split and used while on the go or not in tabletop/TV mode.

      I know you posted this a year ago but i wanted to know how the left stick compares to a regular joycon’s left stick for playing Smash?
      Long story short: i bought my Switch in September last year and have had some drifting action going on a few months in but it started to be really fucking bad a few months ago.
      I got sick of it and went to a game store to buy new joycons and i kinda bought the 15$ extended warranty for some weird reasons and had to return my newly bought joycons a week later so i still go my extended warranty.
      Now it’s barely been a month or so and my Joycons are starting to have some kind of input lag action when i play Smash and even makes my character do things such as grabbing when i want to shield or spot dodge at random when i want to dodge roll.
      I’m about to go claim my extended warranty joycons tomorrow but also am literally on the verge of ordering the split pad. Thing is i haven’t seen people comment much about how responsive the sticks are compared to the crapcons.
      Can you give me some honest feedback please?

      @@willissudweeks1050 I get what they are going for with allowing two people to play right out of the box, it’s honestly a super smart idea and actually works out great for games like Mario Kart. Having them separated and by your sides while playing single player in docked or table top mode also works well for me, they also aren’t awful in the grip thing either, but for some reason attached to a switch in handheld mode is just unbearable for me.

  • @nickp7364
    @nickp7364 5 лет назад +64

    Honestly, I’ve been using this for 4 days now and I have never considered it cheap feeling. The grip texture on the back really makes this comfortable and it does feel super high quality. Also you keep mentioning build quality when in all honesty, the Joycon feel worse than this, especially in the thumb sticks. The fact this controller has proper sticks that don’t drift alone make this controller amazing. Also you said you can’t play Let’s Go with this but you actually can, in handheld mode you can use the left stick to aim where you throw the Pokeball and then press a to throw

    • @TeddyBerry
      @TeddyBerry 5 лет назад +9

      These do genuinely feel like hollow plastic shells though. They work absolutely fine, but they do feel plasticy. How can you already claim that they don't drift though? That comes from wear and i seriously doubt you've used them enough in 4 days to claim that they 100% will not drift. I'm not trying to shit on them, i really like them aswell, but let's be a bit realistic.

    • @amirfoox7432
      @amirfoox7432 5 лет назад +13

      I think the hollow design was deliberate to keep them as lightweight as possible. It's a handheld device afterall, plus heavy pads would also risk the side rails on the console even more.
      As for drift - they don't employ Nintendo's mechanism, these are full size controller sticks. They'll have their own issues for sure, drifting most likely won't be one of them.

    • @nickp7364
      @nickp7364 5 лет назад +7

      TeddyBerry They’re not going to drift because of how the sticks bases are made, Joycon have those really cheap crappy thin bases that cause the drift while these have solid good bases like a PS4 or Xbox so it’s already confirmed it’s not gonna drift, also I’ve never really considered they feel like hollow shells, idk if it’s just me but personally I love these things theyre leagues better than the Joycon

    • @nickp7364
      @nickp7364 5 лет назад +1

      Markymarc88 No the sticks are actually really good and pretty accurate, they’re pretty much like the Pro Controller sticks but just with a little less grip to them, they’re still really good though

    • @nickp7364
      @nickp7364 5 лет назад

      Markymarc88 Yea I hope you can even get one, scalpers are already hoarding these things and reselling them for like 100$ here where I live, it’s the NES Classic all over again. I think for the mass consumer Daemon x Machina is an okay or just a regular game that they can pass or buy in a sale. While some reviewers are there hating on the game just to hate on it while openly saying they don't play/like the genre.
    While actual fans of mechs and ac are loving the sht out of it as its the only thing we've gotten in a long while. Story is bland for the game but customization of mech is great and fluid but story to be bland is to be expected. Alot of similar Japanese based games focused more on gameplay than plot at that stage.

      If you want an identical controller to the old SNES controllers, without the added joysticks or buttons, I'd strongly suggest picking up the older SNES30 from 8bitdo. Most reviews of Daemon X Machina are concentrating on stuff like story aspects of the game, which is ridiculous because it's first and foremost a mech game about building and creating mechs. Fans of mech games like it a lot and you can find more appropriate reviews of the game which focus on the gameplay and customizing mechs , which is entirely the point of this game. Don't listen to reviews on this game. If you are a fan of Armored Core, you'll probably love it.

      @@WulffDen I was going to come say this as well. Mech building games have a very small dedicated community who love the games regardless of every single one having a pretty garbage story. I love these games, and will 100% be picking it up based off of the beta I played. But reviewers are doing their job well with this game. Just thought I’d add my two cents. I have both the satisfye grip (with the elite case) and the split pad pro, and I gotta say, I prefer the split pad. The analog sticks, the dpad, and the larger buttons feel amazing, and honestly I’m really digging the chunkier (sturdier) yet symmetrical feel. Just sent my left joy con in for drift repair and gotta say, didn’t really miss it at all while I was using the split pad (plus no worries of drift on this thing). It actually fits decently well into the elite case, so I can use that for portability. HOWEVER, personally I despise motion controls and am lukewarm towards hd rumble, so for me, I’m perfectly fine without either of those things. I usually play odyssey docked with the pro controller anyhow. I can see why you think the build is pretty cheap, but personally, I think the comfort it gives is damn near unbeatable and the quality it does have is more than serviceable.

    ex. Assign the turbo button to "a" then go to the slots and then tape down the "a" key so you can let it automate the slots. There's a way to pretty much guarantee winning the slots if you have enough tokens. It just requires you to keep spinning which could be achieved easier with a turbo button.

    the assignable button was such a missed opportunity to allow combination buttons into one button.
    I do have it and it's exquisitely comfy, but I can't believe 3 years on, no one has designed something just like this with motion and rumble. It's weird. If I could afford to do it right now I'd kickstart it myself as I think these are the sort of joycons the world is waiting for. Finally, they'd come in an ipega style stretch fit thing so they could work in TATE mode or horizontal mode (therefore of course they'd be wireless compatible).
    The flip grip is so unbelievably uncomfortable and blocks the charge port. If I could find *individual* grips for each joy con, the flip grip would then be cool.
