Fire Alarm Test at the Office

- The yearly fire inspection was being done by Fox Valley at my office and the inspectors allowed me to pull the alarm for the bell test! It is a short shaky cam video, mainly because I had to return to work. The AVs are SpectrAlert Advances that are (unfortunately) all set to high volume.........
This was what my old school had and it scared the shit out of me whenever it went off
OMG same. I new when it went off because I heard it on the other end of the school first. When I did I immediately covered my ears

To make matters worse, NONE of them are in sync.
Ive been in a hospital during alarm tearing testing that had L-Series horn/strobes that wasn’t in sync. It’s a hospital so they supposed to be synchronized CHIMES.
I wonder if you just pull any fire alarm in any store School. Or in any buildings LOL 😆

Today on Friday April 5th 2024 at 11:25 AM EDT. The fire alarm technicians allowed me to pull the fire alarm at school for the fire alarm test and with a fire drill at the same time!

The hell is wrong with that alarm and the hell is wrong with the SYNC
Not all panels have sync bruh and if you look at the announciator and the pull you would be able to tell that the system is obviously older

That is for the fire sprinklers. It activates when water flow is detected within the structure

The building is not that old, so I have no idea why they aren't synchronized. In the area where I work, there are 4 AVs, one of which is set to continuous ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@tor94 it seemed like notifier, pretty sure when they installed it, they didn't know did not have System sensor Sync.
@@pvh_facp4001yt They could have used NAC panels that have the capability though. I'm sure the whole building is not all on 2 NACS. Oh well

That fire alarm sound is just absolutely horrendous.
I think Wheelock AS horn/strobes are just as bad.
The advance and the bell outside are EXTREMELY low
Probably cause it’s full of water. Those outdoor horns strobes are junk. System sensor is cheap junk. That’s why in most places especially newer it’s always system sensor. Cause it’s so cheap.

No, it’s one because it’s on low volume, and two they used a P2R (indoor advance) the outdoor advance P2/4R(H)K is VERY good at staying in good condition, some installed over 7 years ago and they look like they were installed yesterday..

code violation... Alarms need to be in sync
It’s OK for the horns to not be in sync. Although, not recommended. However, if the strobes are not synchronized, that is a code violation as it may cause people with epilepsy to encounter seizures, and altogether is just unsafe for people trying to evacuate the building.
I have the exact same fire alarm at my current school. Expect at some intervals it has a different chime pattern which is weird.

Why was that bell was not working
The bell only sounds if sprinkler water flow has been detected.

It worked, but the camera couldnt capture it and the device isnt in the best condition
